It seems like attaching documents to emails is more difficult on my iPhone compared to my Android which had an attach button. Am I missing something? I was able to copy the document but when I tried to paste it into the body it didn't give me that option. Also, is there something like a downloads folder for iOS?

It's usually reversed in iOS. You open what you want to mail and there will usually be an up arrow in the app to share it via email. You can also hold a blank area in an email to attach a photo.

There is no downloads folder.

A new app just released for iOS. Outlook. Works well so far.

Seems dumb that it's not set up so you can easily attach a file to an email. How does that make any sense?

Apple doesnt think you should store files on your device.

I really like airdrop. Love pushing pics, videos and crap to my phone. No damn syncing with iTunes needed.

Actually I should say it's dumb that I would have to use Dropbox as a solution for the problem I'm complaining about. I love Dropbox for transferring files that are too big to email. It would be handy if I could copy and paste or attach a 200kb PDF file to an email with my worlds smartest smartphone is what I'm getting at.

Sounds like it's not the platform you need. Has been that way since the beginning.

Everything has a flaw or flaws. Do you disagree with what I'm saying? Do you think it makes sense that the phone can't do that task?

Anyone have issues with the fingerprint scanner? Mine worked perfectly for the first month and a half or so, but for the past couple of weeks it seems like it barely wants to read my fingerprint at all. If I wipe the scanner off it'll sometimes read it but then goes back to not recognizing it anymore. The scanner isn't dirty and neither is my finger. It's a 6 Plus BTW.

Debating if I should take it into Apple....

Mine works very well. Right out of the shower with a damp finger sometimes it takes 2 tries or I may have to dry my finger a bit more. No I don't have a problem.

My wife hasn't had as good of luck with the touch id on her 6.

I'll probably take it in then because it's so annoying having to type in the password when I'm supposed to be able to just scan my finger. Anyone know if they can swap the sensors out or if they'll have to give me a new phone? Hopefully they can just change the sensor. lol

As a user of both ecosystems, I have to agree with you Matt. I find it terribly frustrating to "just have to know" that you need to (fill in blank) such as press in an empty area of the email or twist the screen sideways, etc...

Everything I do on a android seems to be intuitive for me but on apple I feel like someone is ALWAYS playing a joke on me so they can point at me and call me stupid for not "just knowing" that you don't attach an item to an email from WITHIN the email, but rather from the doc you are attaching (or press the magic unicorn button to make the glitter pee appear).

Like I said, I use both, and Android has it's flaws, too, but Apple IOS devices drive me nuts on a regular basis.

Wife's iPhone 5 is pissing her off with the latest update. Went from 6 to 8, and even after a few hard resets it's basically not usable for her. Will sit there and not open apps, etc.

Not really digging the upgrade options right now for Family Share. Used to be you could get a dollar for two years contract on the next newest phone, but no longer. Doing Next, it makes no sense to get an older version, because it's only a couple of dollars less a month. I wasn't planning on buying a phone for her OOP right now either.

Do you have an Apple store nearby? We have one about 20 mins away and have to say they have been very good with three of the four iPhones we have in our house. One phone (4S) had an issue with the earpiece and we ultimately upgraded to a 5S (6 and 6S were not out yet). Two other 4S phones had corrupted iCloud back ups and they helped us through them. Might be worth a shot

Rumors are that iOS 9 will be more about bug fixing and removing bloat rather than new features...

Finally!

Not nearby, but within driving distance. I just picked up a 64GB 6 for her, I'll try to get it working better later and it will be another play phone.

They should, but there's probably too many bugs that they need a big overhaul.

Sites are saying they're doing the same thing that they did with OSX Snow Leopard, they said that was more of an optimization release

Where can I get a deal on a refurbished 5S? I bought one from straighttalk last year but it's not currently available. I want one that I can put on a prepaid plan. Tmobile would be fine.

My 6+ seems to be bent just a touch, torsionally. The bottom right corner, top left corner don't lay flat on a flat surface. Not enough to do anything about but interesting.

Over the last month or so I was noticing my front-facing camera was slowly sliding out of place to the left with what looked like a foam collar taking its place around the right side. I took it into the Apple Store tonight and no questions, they replaced the screen, not the whole phone.

I was a little nervous about having major surgery done on a phone that's only three months old but you can't even tell they had it open. Not a scratch, scuff, chip one...looks brand new still.

Mine looks like it's scooted over to the left as well but so far no impact on images.
