This is the 32GB version and no tax except in New Jersey and shipping is free! Such a good price. I think this will be the lowest it'll get on Black Friday and that's gonna have tax at Office Depot.

Official Android 4.2 OTA for Nexus 7
Went live last night after the Galaxy Nexus:

Gonna try OTA Root Keeper to install this one since I'm already on stock just rooted.

However, with that said, if you start having issues a factory reset usually fixes the common problems for people and that would require an installation of everything again. TitaniumBackup works great for those purposes and Google does backup apps and their settings if the developer enabled it which a bunch don't for some reason.
If you can access boot loader you should be fine. If it doesn't turn on at all then that's a different story...
Try the Toolkit:

Or manually flash using fast boot on the bootloader:

If you bought it from the Play Store, Google. Outside the Play Store, ASUS.
If its not turning on, try holding the Power button for 10 seconds and plug it in using the charger it came with.

when it boots ether normal or bootloader or recovery its fine, then no matter what it flips out and starts flashing random pixels on the screen. Tried reflashing it but it crashes during and does the flip out. I think its fried actually. I think I got it off ebay when they first came out. I can try Asus, but I think its god telling me to get myself a new 32 GB model.
Anyone have a good walkthrough for rooting a Kindle Fire and 100% converting to android? I found a few sites but the links to the required files are either missing or outdated and I am unsure how to proceed...
Used SuperOneClick to get root and bypass Kindle launcher, but want to completely dump a 100% android build on it. Tired of Google Play store saying "this app not compatible with your device"...

Yeah if I didn't have my 7 I'd be all over that 10 right now as well. Then again, I really like the size of the 7. Its so easy to carry around and pocket as needed. I'm surprised the 32 GB version sold out before the 16 GB.

Just got a chance to install the 4.2 update on my 7. (Would've installed it earlier but didn't realize I didn't have a custom recovery and I was away from my laptop.) Interesting to note that it has the same swipe down from the Top Left for notifications and swipe down from the Top Right to get to the Quick Settings. This will take some getting used to as on the phone, its one finger swipe to get to notifications and two fingers swipe to get to Quick Settings. Also, Multi User Accounts is there but I don't think I'll be using it too much.

SMS/MMS sending/receiving on Nexus 7 3G
For anyone interested, they got native SMS/MMS to work on the 3G version of the Nexus 7:

The Nexus 7 32 GB 3G version is $299 btw. They're working on getting phone calls working and I'm sure its only a matter of time. In the mean time, Groove IP and all other VOIP/SIP calling will work.
Keep an eye on this thread for Voice calling:

The Asus Infinity has dropped to $450 as bestbuy and I have a $25 giftcard. Trying to decide if I should wait to be able to play with the Nexus 10. My Touchpad is beginning to wear on me. If I could get it new for $400 I probably would just go with the Infinity.
so, I was at a Staples and demo'd an iPad Mini, I gotta admit it's actually pretty nice. But what surprised me was, I went to espn.com (desktop version) and it played the video, I thought Apple wasn't supporting Flash? My Nexus 7 won't even play the video in espn's site, what's up with that? (And yeah, I've even tried it with Firefox)
^Some websites have started transitioning to HTML5 for their video/media content. What you saw is HTML5. Depending on the useragent of the browser you were using to browse that site, it'll change accordingly. As far as ESPN site on my Nexus 7 on Chrome, it plays the videos as HTML5 just fine. It actually even gives me the option to play them on MX Player if I chose instead of Chrome. If you're in Desktop Mode, it'll probably play the Flash version of the site.
So I just bought a Bluetooth Keyboard/Case for the Nexus 7. Should be here Wednesday if Amazon gets it to me by then. Here's a demo of it on YouTube:
Supposedly, it has the same rubber feel that the Nexus 7 has on the back. The only thing missing seems to be the Tab key. Not sure why they replaced it with a longer Q button but whatever I guess.

I forgot you could easily change the Keyboard layout if you have root. So I guess if the missing Tab key bothers me enough, I'll do what this guy did. (He replaced the Caps key as Tab by changing the keyboard layout):
http://forum.xda-developers.com/show...5&postcount=38
Wish it had the same layout as the TF101 as ASUS got it right with those keyboards. Oh well, can't argue for $23 I guess and it should work with any bluetooth enabled device. Lol. It'll go well with the Motorola Bluetooth mouse I got for $5 the other day.

So I decided to flash the Tablet UI for my stock Nexus 7 4.2 with 180 DPI changed via build.prop:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/show...&postcount=840
^Odexed if using stock. Deodexed if you're using a custom ROM.
Now I have the Tablet UI again like Paranoid Android. Also running Franco's kernel r30 (GPU Overclocked to 500 MHz) and so far so good. Everything's so smooth and I love the button configuration. Only issue is accessing Google Now as it seems to have kept the swiping from the middle of the lower status bar even though there's no dot or notification there. Otherwise, all apps in the Market are working despite the DPI change and tablet mode has been enabled on the Nexus 7 without all the crazy configurations Paranoid Android brings.

I came across another SMS/MMS sync for Android phones and Tablet called CloudSMS:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/d...ure=nav_result
http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=1951631
I gave the suggestion for TabletTalk before:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/d...QudGFidGFsayJd
http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=1206798
Has any one tried out Cloud SMS? The differences I can see are as below:
Diffferences:
- Cloud SMS is a service that runs in the background that will sync your SMS/MMS with your tablet as you send/receive them. There's no other extra set up than to run it and enable it in the background once and thats it. As long as both devices have access to the internet, they can send/receive SMS/MMS whether or not both devices are next to each other or within the same vicinity. You could technically leave your phone at home and just carry your tablet and do all your SMS/MMS needs with the tablet as long as its capable of accessing the internet.
- Tablet Talk requires you to manually sync the texts via WiFi or Bluetooth every time you disconnect the devices. (Its pretty quick but can be a hassle) Both devices have to be within the same vicinity or same Wireless Network to work. On the other side of the coin, because there's a bluetooth option, you don't need internet access to have the SMS/MMS sync up but at the cost of the range of bluetooth which is usually around 20-30 feet.
- Tablet Talk allows you to see who is calling and even answer the phone call as long you're connected to your phone via Bluetooth. Or you can reject it via the app as well. Cloud SMS has no such indicator.
- Cloud SMS is a $2 cheaper than TabletTalk with almost all the same functionality just missing the calls option.
I'm still debating on picking up Cloud SMS because I already have TabletTalk and the UI has been getting better on it. However, Cloud SMS is only $0.99. Its great for people who don't have WiFi restricted at work or wherever they travel, otherwise its useless. It would be a no brainer for 3G enabled tablets I guess as you wouldn't need to worry about getting access to the internet. TabletTalk on the other hand will work with or without the internet as it can connect via Bluetooth.

Bought this in Spain for about 50 euros - http://www.amazon.co.uk/MK802-Player...3952183&sr=8-1
My Bluetooth Keyboard/Case came in.
Came earlier than expected.:
pUvCn.jpg NgWRK.jpg sk609.jpg
The material is not entirely the same as the back of the Nexus 7 but it comes really close. (It doesn't have the rubbery feel). Keyboard is usable while it is charging. Response time is immediate. When the tablet is docked in, it feels sturdy enough to not fall off. Also works in Portrait Mode docked in. Locked in, the tablet is very secure so no need to worry about it falling off (Maybe a little too secure as removing it from the case requires two hands). For $23 it is well worth the price.

It doesn't tilt so the angle is fixed but its fine since its bluetooth you could technically use another case and still type with the keyboard. The angle is just right for viewing videos and browsing IMO.
Here is someone else's video review of it:
Mine didn't come with the small bumps to tell were F and J is but someone suggested putting a sticker to help differentiate those spots. I also wish it had the magnet like it does on the ASUS Transformer keyboards to wake/sleep the device automatically but then again, opening it while its locked into the case is pretty tough as it is. If it had a hinge I guess it would make sense.

I don't think it's been mentioned in this thread but anyone else (with N7) experiencing terrible battery drain after the 4.2 update? I wasn't sure if it was just in my head but last night before going to bed I unplugged it (obviously @100%), this morning it was at 75%
My N7's battery life went from great to shit after the update. Its not a big deal for me (in a way) because it rarely leaves the house, I'm not the type to go kick it at Starbucks and " read" a book on it, but still I hope they address this and also the other issue, the self rebooting that occurs here and there

Too bad I already have the 1st gen Nexus 7, if I didn't, I'd be all over the 10... there's NO point in owning two tablets
