XDA got a working Netflix APK. So far it seems to be working on the HTC Evo and HTC Incredible. Not sure what other devices work with it:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=1005590
Grab it before it gets taken down and install it like any regular app. Can't confirm on my Galaxy because I don't have a Netflix account but I doubt it works yet.

Here's a pretty in depth video on the HTC Evo 3D:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-ynmq...layer_embedded
Pretty much answers every question you could have on the device. lol. Wonder how 3D displays will fare. I guess its always good to have it as an option instead of it being forced on.

Are there any good ROMS for the mytouch4g?
My dad is asking if I can root his phone and install a custom ROM.
But he needs a reliable daily driver.

MIUI and CM are more test builds at the moment considering that the official Gingerbread ROM hasn't been released for the phone yet.

You're probably safe with any of the Froyo builds. Most updates to Froyo bases are usually just little tweaks here and there by this point.

HTC just announced that the EVO 4g and other high-end HTC phones will be getting Android 2.3 gingerbread starting in 2 weeks until July. The version the EVO gets is already out on the EVO 3D. I have vid if you'd like to see i can post the Video. HTC Sense 2.5 UI is so nice. I feel sorry for the HTC myTouch 4G that uses T-Mobiles own UI. HTC Sense for Android reminds me of Sense UI for Windows Phone 6.5.3.

alright so I found out about 3 weeks ago my phone isnt receiving all the texts that are sent to me.
I think it started earlier than that too, because people I'm texting, the convos would just end abruptly and I always think they just forgot to text me.
Then three weeks ago my friend texted me and i met up with him later in the day and i he asked me about the whatever he told me and I never got that text. Since then I've asked people and still even today I'm noticing that I'm not receiving all my texts. Today it happened, yesterday once also.
Is this my phone, tmobile, custom ROM? Anyone heard of this issue on android? I know earlier there was the bug that the texts went to the wrong people, but this I'm just not receiving it.

Could be the rom or TMO. I had a similar issue with my Slide.

Me too... this is the most craziness I have seen out of multiple systems in the past 10 years... I read that in some parts of the world it was bad enough to create a scare that there would be problems with air traffic control... this is the reason why there hasn't been a lot of talk... they probably don't want to freak out people.

I'm gonna have to find a way to narrow down the problem.
Some other guy has chimed in on xda saying the same thing happened to him. And he was also using a rom based off of CM7. Maybe its the ROM?
I dont wanna switch the ROM though I love it.

In the dialpad enter *#*#4636#*#*
Select phone information.
You need to re-enter the SMSC Carrier number for your carrier in Hex.

this is what some guy told me over in xda
I have no clue what it means though.

Sorry for being a at this stuff.
I have a HTC Desire (thru US Cellular) Finally got the update from 2.1 to 2.2 froyo update. One of the features is to be able to save and install apps to the sd. So far i havent been able to get a single on to the SD. How do you do it? In the apps section there is a spot where i see a tab you "should" be able to select move to SD but it is never available for me to select. Am i doing something wrong or does it depend on the app?

Most don't enable it because it can cause conflicts.

It might be the CM ROM. I remember CM 5 had that problem back in the day. Unfortunately, it only happened to a few people and I don't know if they ever figured out what was causing it. I never experienced it but its probably cause I don't text as much as other people do.

Try this app out:
https://market.android.com/details?i....gphone.app2sd
Otherwise, if your app lets you do it:
Go to your settings --> applications --> manage applications --> scroll down to the app you want --> Move to SD Card
If you have root:

I searched for the sms problem in CM and they all seem to point to the same reason which is CM has an aggressive memory killer. One thread here:
http://forum.cyanogenmod.com/topic/1...text-messages/
Their suggestion is to lock the app into memory so it doesn't get killed as easily when Android needs RAM. I believe it might be in the Cyanogen settings under Performance.

For those that didn't know, the Galaxy S (international version), Droid X and Droid 2 just had Gingerbread leaks over the weekend. Not sure if they're final though.
Galaxy S: DO NOT flash this if you have the Vibrant, Captivate, Fascinate or Epic 4G XDA probably ported this build to the Vibrant and Captivate but you will have to double check that.

Here's the new Sony Xperia PLAY running the n64oid emulator with the control pad:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zf2Qs...layer_embedded
The phone looks pretty responsive.
Also for those that didn't see it, Sony changed their minds and will be bringing Gingerbread to the X10 after saying that they wouldn't upgrade it beyond Eclair. I saw one of these phones in person the other day and I must say it looks nice in person.

The blog points to the work done on the Xperia PLAY, Arc and Neo handsets which has allowed Sony to move forward on a build for the X10. A quote from the blog post:We plan to bring an upgrade to Android Gingerbread for the XperiaTM X10 to generic trade kits end Q2 / early Q3 this year. We have heard your requests all along but until today have not been able to confirm this. The great work on our 2011 products XperiaTM PLAY, XperiaTM arc and XperiaTM neo actually has enabled us to start the work in a special project bringing Gingerbread to the XperiaTM X10.

Ive noticed some apps dont like to be run off the SD card. Ive always had problems with PF Voicemail whenever I ran it off the SD card (upon reboot the widget would remove itself).

anyone here with the Vibrant S? Any inputs? I get confused with all these models, is it the same as the Samsung S or Vibrant is another one?

In the US:
AT&T: Samsung Galaxy S Captivate
T-Mobile: Samsung Galaxy S Vibrant and the "new" Vibrant 4G
Sprint: Samsung Galaxy S Epic 4G
Verizon: Samsung Galaxy S Fascinate
In other parts of the world it is known as the Vibrant:
Europe, Asia: Samsung Galaxy S Vibrant i9000
Canada: Samsung Galaxy S Vibrant i9000M
Latin America: Samsung Galaxy S Vibrant i9000T
Samsung Galaxy S is the family name, if you will. The Models are the different names and correspond to the carriers/country. In essence, they're all pretty much the same hardware wise with difference in button orientation and a few things like the CDMA antenna and DVT antenna in the Korean versions. However, the ROMs are not interchangeable without a proper kernel. You can flash them interchangeably but without the proper kernel, the buttons will be mixed up. Hope that helps.
Oh and to answer your question, I had the i9000M before the internal SD Card broke and now currently use an i9000T on AT&T with perfect 3G bands. I love the phone especially with the recent Froyo updates and kernel fixes from XDA. Haven't been enticed to change phones yet because I'm that satisfied with the phone. With Gingerbread builds coming out, I think I'll be looking to upgrade later this year at the earliest.

Vibrant S? Maybe you mean Galaxy S Vibrant. Samsung created the same phone with different names for the various carriers.

I still haven't gotten around in picking up a phone up here in Vancouver/Canada...
I'm looking to buy used, and some Nexus One's are popping up in CL for around $300-ish...(probably because the Nexus S is coming), and some guy is advertising his Vibrant (unlocked) for $400 and said it's "negotiable"... (keep in mind, we're talkin' Canadian prices), I kinda wanted something that tethers tho... But then, the Vibrant's screen just look sooooo much better.

If you decide to get a Canadian Vibrant, make sure you get a receipt for warranty purposes. Samsung knows about the corrupted internal SD Cards and they do replace them under warranty after losing your whole phone. If you want to save yourself a headache, purchase the Latin American version. Make sure its i9000T NOT i9000B (exclusive to Brazil and not as customizable). It comes unlock by default, although its quite easy to unlock the Canadian Vibrant yourself, and can be flashed with a Canadian ROM easily. The Latin American version does have 8 GB instead of 16 GB internal but both still have the external SD card slot so you can buy a 16 GB class 10 card like I do. I haven't even used more than 2 GB of my internal SD Card and I have about 150+ apps. You could also purchase the Captivate as it uses the same bands as those in Canada. It just has a different styling than the Vibrant and I prefer the international Vibrant's Menu, Home, Back button set up.
