why do you use so many browsers mike!
and i just use chrome. All because of the sync feature. More important to me that if something loads a ltl bit faster

Then the other browsers were just out of curiosity mainly looking for the Chrome Bookmark Sync which the AOSP browser didn't support until ICS. Then I tried out stock Jellybean builds which got rid of the AOSP browser in favor of Chrome so I tried to find an alternative without having to root to install the AOSP browser which lead me to Tint and Naked. I know Naked is pretty good privacy wise as it was built to be as least intrusive and faster than AOSP. In the end, I just keep coming back to AOSP browser because of the gesture controls. The others just don't handle fullscreen and tab browsing without being clunky in the interface department. Although using a bluetooth keyboard kinda helps because the same keyboard shortcuts that you can use on a desktop also work in Android. (ctrl+t, ctrl+w, etc.)

I came across a thread in the G+ communities for CyanogenMod that suggested disabling Apollo if you're having cover art issues with Google Play Music. This was bugging me for a while and it never occurred to me that Apollo was messing with the Google Play music cover albums. I would get glitches where the album would flicker on the lockscreen when it was paused (wasn't a big deal cause my phone's screen was usually off during this time) or missing cover album when going into the Now Playing. If you're having the same issues, disable Apollo and restart your phone. That should bring back your cover art and stop the annoying flicker when the music is paused on the lockscreen.

Seriously. He's been eyeing a Nexus 10 for a while. I guess he wanted to resell the 4 for some profit but it looks like Google and LG got their act together so unless they go out of stock again he'll probably just have to do a trade and cash. He's rocking an international Galaxy S II at the moment and he doesn't do any crazy modding like I do so he's not sure if he really needs the 4 that bad.

Goodbye.
Was it one of the new orders from the Play Store, or did he pick it up from T-Mo?
You should go play with it and compare speeds with your GNex on both networks.
and to the guy who's PS3 ylod'ed....... PS4 might just be around the corner

He got it from the Play Store. He's also on AT&T but we have a MicroCell so data speed gets capped at 1.5 Mbps down and .5 Mbps up. He hasn't opened the delivery box yet. Probably gonna give it a few days to figure out what he's gonna do with it. I told him to play with it and see what happens. Playing devil's advocate here. Lol.

I will say that the experience of going from a GNex to N4 is significant enough to tempt you.

Whoa! If you pre-order the Xperia Z in the UK, you get a free pair of Sony MDR-1R headphones!!!!
Those are great premium cans and retail for over $300. I want to go to there.

Lol. You guys aren't helping. I have to resist for now. That USB OTG deal is really a deal breaker for me though as I tend to use it a lot. Also dropped some money on Vday things. You know how they overprice those things this time of the year. Gonna start hinting to the gf on these things but the earliest I'll get a new one is probably around June which is a good time since most manufacturers will have shown what they're planning to release for the year.

How come we don't get the good stuff like that? Japan Docomo is giving a dock with their Xperia Z phone. Its actually an OEM Sony Xperia Z dock that looks good and functions like it should.

Google/Motorola X Phone Rumors
To summarize - come May 15, we could be looking at project X, the first Motorola phone with direct input from Google, which might sport a Kevlar back, screen in the 4.8"-5" range, quad-core processor, 3,000+ mAh battery, microSD slot, good amounts of storage, stock Android and an eventual Sony camera sensor. Sounds like a winner from Moto, but lets wait and see if and what of all this will materialize, and will there be any novel features with it, brought on by Android 5.0 Key Lime Pie, which the X is said to be the first phone with.
Interesting info on how they were able to use the navigation for days and still have battery. I hope we hear more in I/O. Release date is supposed to be around June and coming to all carriers except maybe T-Mobile.

Goodbye.
First ep of House of Cards is free on Netflix!
http://movies.netflix.com/WiMovie/Ho...?mqso=81001339
It's gonna be interesting to see how the show entire season of 13 eps all at once vs. weekly eps like a typical TV show, works.
Not Android related except that you can watch it on your phone ;p

I'm gonna say bottom...Lot more noise in the darker areas. A lot of people have been saying the Nexus 4, for whatever reason, has been raising the ISO a lot more than necessary.
#7464
Goodbye.
The ISO can be sort of changed though crudely via the on-screen settings of the native camera app, but I think they might have just done that on purpose for Auto mode to make their low light pictures better.

Anyone try this out for the S3? Looks like an easy addon to get wireless charging since Samsung is taking their time to release their version. Its also pretty cheap for $14.80.

Carbon for Twitter is finally out! Its free too.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/d...ndlines.carbon
If you guys use Twitter, check this app out. From my short time with it so far, its pretty awesome. Its a toss up between Carbon and Falcon. Very smooth and fast. Animations look good and fluid. Supposedly, an update will come for tablet support in the future.

Demo of Project Shield playing Borderlands off Steam:
I wonder how much this thing is gonna cost. From the sound of it, NVIDIA isn't planning this device to be mainstream. Plus I guess you would have to pair it with an NVIDIA GPU in order to use it.

Gonna have to agree with swoosh on this one. Google Voice should be able to do what you want and retain one device. They have their own Do Not Disturb mode I believe on their website which allows you to forward calls for a certain time that forwards those calls straight to voicemail. As for the not calling at night, just use the S3's built in Do Not Disturb setting. Using the Google Voice app, you can make Google Voice become your Voicemail so it tracks all you calls/voicemail in one box. It even transcribes it for you but that depends on how well people enunciate their words. Lol. You would need to give your work your Google number and then set up the app to ask whether or not to use your Google or ATT number to make the phone call. Note that this will use your regular minutes. The same happens when someone calls and it goes to voicemail as it acts as a forwarding service of sort if that makes sense.
So I have it set up and it works great so far. I am curious how it would work if I am overseas and someone were to call my Google Voice number. Will it still forward to my cell? I am ok with getting charged the international rate by my provider. I just don't want a second charge from Google.

so I had bad battery drain for the last week. went unto battery stats and saw mediaserver taking up the most juice. researched it and it says the culprit is a music/video player hanging onto a media file. weird cause I don't have videos or music on my phone. rebooted, uninstalled a bunch if software. no fix. then just yesterday I opened up chrome for the first time in a long time and saw five windows open. one of it was a window playing music from soundcloud. I immediately knew that was the problem and my battery life is well again. I thought Google chrome would kill all windows after a reboot

^Yeah Chrome keeps your tabs until you manually close them. The same thing happens with the AOSP browser. What I wasn't aware of was that the webpages kept running in the background. Maybe there was an app you ran that shared some code from Chrome which made it run in the background?
Also, if you want to minimize the Media Server wakelock, disable Touch Sounds and Locskcreen Sounds from the Sound settings if you haven't done so. Some people were getting battery drain from these for some reason when they were enabled. I have both off since I don't care for either but it should help battery drain if you have them enabled.

Nexus X?
If this is true then I think I know what I'm getting next:
http://www.knowyourmobile.com/blog/1...d_nexus_x.html
Google I/O needs to happen sooner. Maybe they'll do this as a response to all the new OSes coming out. Samsung's Tizen, Ubuntu, Firefox and the new Blackberry. Interesting times ahead.
The Motorola X might now be branded as a Nexus device, dubbed the Nexus X, according to reports.
Previously, Motorola’s new phone, labelled as the Motorola X, was said to be another kind of Google-driven flagship and one which would be independent of the Nexus brand.
It was rumoured to be based on the next version of Android, the 5.0 build known as Key Lime Pie, and was pitched to sport a 5-inch 440ppi display.
These rumours also implied we would see the phone launched at Google I/O on May 15 and some claims pointed at a June or July release on the Google Play webstore.
Now, however, the tables have turned and new rumours suggest it will in fact be a Nexus phone.
EaglesRant.com reports that the ‘device referred to by the press as the Motorola X Phone may not carry Motorola’s branding after all,’ and ‘it might just be the next ‘pure’ Google phone, contrary to initial reports that it wouldn’t be a true Nexus device.’
‘Instead of being a Motorola flagship, the X Phone may be known instead as the Google Nexus X,’ claims the report.
However, it doesn’t cite sources other than ‘word from the tech grapevine’
Both this report and a similar piece from nvonews suggest a spec line-up which will include a 5-inch FullHD 1080p display, 13-megapixel camera and a ‘high performance’ quad-core processor with 2GB of RAM.
Android 5.0 Key Lime Pie is still named as the primary candidate for the operating system.
As with the earlier reports, this really all boils down to speculation, no doubt if Motorola is developing a flagship phone to go head-to-head with the likes of the Samsung Galaxy S4, HTC M7 and Sony Xperia Z it will have an impressive spec line-up.
But what’s really interesting is whether we’re about to see the first Nexus branded phone from Motorola since the manufacturer was swallowed up by Google.

I'm wondering if Google will bring this out at a low price like the N4, I doubt it tho

...so, my N4 is scheduled to be delivered today, but after watching some Note 2 videos on YouTube I'm starting to think maybe I should be going that route. I'm not sure if there's enough difference between the GNex and the N4. I figure if I keep it sealed, unopened I could get what I paid. The Note 2 is @$600 right now with my carrier, I can sell the GNex and pay the difference
What do you guys think?
