Three Wheelin'
Congrats HEAT fans!
Last night was a deserved win for y'all.
Man, my Thunder boys did not show up to win last night.
Our defense sucked ass, we kept leaving Miller wide the f^ck open for 3s, left Bosh right under the basket, WHY Harden was trying to shoot 3s is beyond me, and not a damn one of them could get the ball through the hoop last night. Terrible.
Back at it next season!

I don't see the Heat repeating next year. I knew they'd win this year especially once Rose went out. I had the finals as they were and the Heat winning and OKC winning next year. Rose will never win a championship unless the the core of the Heat and OKC disbands.

Mickey Arison next to Lebron and Pat Riley in the reflection being interviewed. Owner, architect, and MVP. Very fitting picture.
This particular game, the 3's by Miller (okay didn't think that many; and I apologize to Miller as I've dogged him all year), actually all the open 3's since the Big 3 was predicted to demand the attention, the stifling defense, the unbelievable athleticism, the dream that Riley had in constructing this team was absolutely represented in this game. It was pretty damn close to the perfect game that Heat fans envisioned the second we heard the words South Beach uttered that one night. If only there was a way for Juwan Howard to score I think the fans would've literally erupted and torn the roof off that MFer.
The best part about this particular journey, more than two years in the making since Riley had to set up the team to absorb his new stars, was the growth and maturity that the players and even Coach Spo undertook. Lebron and his admitted immaturity and playing with "hate", Wade able to pass the reins to his teammate which can be a rough transition like what we saw in LA, Bosh knowing and embracing his 3rd man role after being the main man, and Spo absorbing the 2nd most pressure to Lebron as being a button pusher and the reason they haven't won and facing elimination. It's really a good story not just locally but nationally or even globally. They reached down inside themselves and gave all they had. You don't just show up and win because you have all this talent. Last I heard OKC was supposed to hoist the trophy on Sunday since they had the better, deeper team. I'm sure one day they'll be a great story line in the future as well. Once again sports captures all the great drama and storyline of any great TV show.
Oh and major props to Scott Brooks. Did anyone catch the video where he told his players in the last huddle how when that game is over not to leave the court and congratulate the Heat players. I didn't cry last night but that was probably one of the deepest feelings I had felt outside of the elation of my team winning. Very inspiring and refreshing for the coach teaching his men even at the face of defeat to be men and go out with honor. Well done.

A local NY transplant radio host made an interesting point how recently the most maligned coaches were Spo and the NY Giants' Coughlin. He also said that since both won championships this year fans don't fully understand coaching. Well he said something more like STFU but you get the point.

Thankfully I don't have to hear people saying Lebron sucks because he has no rings. I don't like him that much because he isn't on my team, but he is the best player in the league right now overall. He may not be as strong mentally as he is physically, but he's getting there especially after yesterday. All I know is I better not hear people saying that Lebron is better then MJ. Until Lebron gets as many rings as Kobe for the duration of his career then MAYBE we can say something, but there will never be anything close to MJ quite yet.

MJ's niche was that he was ahead of his time.
the rest of the league has caught up and thats why you have multiple superstars that stand out, while also blending in.
#23 was in his own league, a man among children if you will.
nobody makes the rest of the league look like amateurs these days, they are only more physically gifted. such as in Lebron's case... he is just a biological freak at his position, and nobody can guard him. (he also gets credit for shooting very well, though)

Lebron's more Magic anyways....which is what I personally prefer. Mike was a pretty arrogant and petty SOB when it comes down to it.
Lebron thought he was the bomb-diggity until he figured out he couldn't do it alone and in the fashion he had done it before. Kudos to him.

Even though I love MJ, his HoF speech showed how petulant he can be. Competitive to the point of being petty.
And I agree with Bron being more like Magic - a big man that can run the offense and dish.

Call MJ what you want...but, he backed it up in spades. And he never did throw himself pre-Title parties. ![:O](https://acurazine.com/forums/images/smilies/embarrassment.gif)
But, in the LeHeat's case...it's allowed because we knew they were going to win many. So, they are entitled.

^^agree to a point. Those last 3 championships featured 3 hall of fame teammates and a point guard called the 'poor mans Jordan' earlier in his career. Rule changes and a lack of big shooting guards thoughout the league helped (Dan Majerle and Jeff Hornacek don't really strike me as elite defenders, lol).
Not to take anything away, but just to provide context.
Which reminds me: when are we gonna open up the offseason thread so we don't ruin the Heat party?
