Leaves deserved better....outplayed the Pens in the 3rd and OT.

But the skill difference was evident in the shoot out. Watching Crosby pick the top shelf like that was depressing but you couldn't help but be impressed.

For the last 10 US Presidential Terms, one thing has remained consistent, Jack Parker was the coach of the BU Terriers hockey program. On his 68th birthday, Jack's decided to hang'em up.

The veteran bench boss will be leaving a long legacy of success — 894 career wins (the most by a coach at a single school), which is third-most in Division 1 history behind Boston College coach Jerry York and former Michigan State coach Ron Mason.

Nice comeback by the pens against the B's last night, down 2 nothing in the 3rd, scoring 3 goals in 6 mins

B's are scary good though, wouldn't be surprised to see them in the conf final

Dobby got screwed by his team mates in that one. They tried to play defensive hockey for the last 30 minutes against an offensive powerhouse and couldn't pull it off. I thought they realized the best defense was keeping the puck in your offensive zone but they strayed from that strategy against the wrong team.

Losing Kelly to broken leg kinda sucks donkey balls too. According to every player on the B's (and many players in Ottawa) he's a huge piece of the locker room.

Seriously, Division C is kickbutt...the rest are all compared to the rivalry between the teams in C.

Thanks, NHL.

Thanks, NHL.
I'm curious what the collective age of each division is in terms of the age of the franchise in that city. I think it's pretty obvious that C is the oldest with 4 of the original 6 in there.

Chicago is going to be the old man of their division telling the damn whippersnappers to keep off their lawn.

At least the league has it all set up for contraction.
One from each division:

Yotes
Stars
Jackets
Panthers.

At least they planned for that.

Well, with the Pink Things gone, one less. Blues and Blackhawks is a pretty good rivalry.

And "technically", the Minny Wild COULD be a nice rival but truthfully, they aren't the North Stars...so, doesn't really count.

Although, Chicago's biggest rival these days is really the Cansucks along with Detroit.

^^ Exactly not much there in terms of legendary or even good rivalries.

I think the NHL screwed this one up....pretty much like most things they do.

Shoulda moved Chicago east with Detroit, moved the 2 FL teams to the west, then eliminated the western conference entirely.

Revenue problem solved.

No more revenue problems.

Yeah, I really was hoping Chicago would've moved East. I mean, all the match-ups (and potential tilts in the playoffs) against the Habs, Bruins, Things, Syrups, and Rangers would've been awesome.

Sigh.

Being in the western conference isn't the only thing stopping you from seeing the Syrups in the playoffs

Ah, give that sorry team some credit this year. They are looking decent so far. Their PK has really improved and so has the spotty goaltending.

If anything, I think they'll make the playoffs. It'd sure be nice to see dom less cranky.

Homey, would you please stop this contraction jibberish. The Count ain't gonna retreat. Western Conference is set up perfectly for an addition in Seattle and perhaps later in Salt Lake or Oklahoma City.

The Division That People Actually Care About is set up for for a Florida relocation to Quebec and if the Tampa Yzerman's struggle, they can move to Hamilton or Markham, but that's waaaaaaaaaay into the future.

Give the Miami Panthers a chance. They were hit bad with injuries this year but that's a good, young line-up they have.

And lots of nice prospects in their system.

I know you all seem to hold some disdain for the Canucks, but what do you guys think of the Millionaires jerseys they're wearing against Detroit tonight? Everyone around here (including myself) is going NUTS trying to find some millionaires gear now.
