As vocal inflection is not available on forums, as a rule people use red letters to indicate sarcasm.

CHICAGO -- The Chicago Blackhawks have fired assistant coach Mike Haviland.
Haviland has spent the last four seasons as an assistant, joining the staff in July 2008, a little more than two months before Joel Quenneville became head coach. Haviland also coached the team's American Hockey League affiliates in Norfolk, Va., from 2005-07 and Rockford from 2007-08.
The Blackhawks finished fourth in the Central Division with 101 points but were eliminated by Phoenix, the Pacific Division champion, in six games. The Chicago power play scored just 42 times in 82 games (15.2 per cent), 24th in the 30-team NHL. The penalty kill ranked 27th, allowing goals on 21.9 per cent of opposing chances.

Adios Philly.

So, either the Pens were just THAT brutal...or the Flyers really stunk against the Devils.
Senior Moderator
^probably a bit of both. Crazy playoffs this year.

The commentators were saying Ward was careless with his stick
The sizzle in the Steak
Based upon how far each went in the playoffs.....clearly the Kings won out on the Richards for Simmonds & Little Schenn.
I don't doubt however, that Simmonds & Little Schenn will get better and better for the Flyers as the years go on.

Simmonds did exactly what he was brought into Philly to do and so did Itty-Bitty Schenn. Dunno if they were meant to replace Richards' offense per se?

^^ I have no idea what you are disagreeing with?

Rangers can't close the deal.

.....because it takes the NHL sooooo long to figure this stuff out
Hey Count! There is absolutely nothing going on at your teams arena. How could the scheduling be so difficult?
The NHL has graciously announced that the Western Conference Finals will start on Sunday at 5 p.m. Pacific time, with Phoenix hosting the Kings.

Stop the madness!!!

So, if the possible happens and like, let's say the Rangers get ousted...this thread will just be Waldorf (Moog) here PWing for the next couple of weeks because everyone else has vacated?
Cuz, really...Do we even have any NJ or Phoenix fans in here?

The Galaxy arrived in Montreal today in advance of tomorrow’s Major League Soccer game against the expansion Montreal Impact. Beckham, always a media magnet, was asked by a Montreal media member how it felt to come to a hockey town and try to convert fans to soccer. Beckham answered, “I think we’re the hockey town at the moment.”
Ouch.
After some laughter, from Beckham and the media, here’s what Beckham followed with: “Sorry, I don’t want to offend anyone, but… Yeah, it’s great. It’s exciting in L.A. at the moment, with the Kings. They’re playing so well and doing so well, and it’s exciting. Obviously, I know Montreal is a big hockey town as well. I don’t want to say too much more. But it’s exciting to come here as a soccer player.”

Rangers are doomed, spotted Lloyd Blankfein in the 4th row as the NBC camera panned the audience when the national anthem was winding down.
I'm a Knuble fan since his Michigan days and brief stint with the Wings, so I'm rooting for a Caps/Kings finals.
