I don't give him too much credit. He is an incredibly stabilizing voice on the bench and ice and in the room. Lapierre's move wasn't resolved in the game that it happened, without the voice to call for a rally, they just sat back and took it. I've heard everyone on the team point to 2 guys who provide the wisdom and encouragement of a crafty veteran and they are always talking about Thornton and old man Recchi.

I'd be willing to bet that he's the guy who decided to hand the game jacket in Horton's locker. He's one of handful who can make that decision by himself.

Boston Bruins forward Nathan Horton has a severe concussion after taking a brutal blindside hit in Game 3 Monday night and will miss the rest of the Stanley Cup playoffs, the team announced Tuesday.

Horton, who already had passed the puck entering the offensive zone, was hit by Vancouver Canucks defenseman Aaron Rome in the first period. Rome was assessed a five-minute major and a game misconduct.

Horton, 26, is tied for second on the Bruins in playoff scoring with 17 points on eight goals and nine assists.

These hits are getting ridiculous...

Looking at just the Bruins, they lost Bergeron for about a year, Savard is beyond messed up at this point, and now Horton...

I hope he has a speed recovery...

Time to get Seguin back in there. Kid should be amped up again, after being benched for Thorton...

Well, we have a series now...still, Boston needs to hold serve and win their next game at home.

No one left...

If you'd like us to continue to talk about Vancity's gutless play, we could. Well, I could.

I don't think I've ever seen a bigger bunch of cheapshots than your team. No wonder the rest of Canada is doing a collective yawn about Vancouver being in the Finals and rooting for Boston instead.

I always have a hard time being able to tell if I'm a complete and total Homer or not. I try to look at what I see, call it like it is and not be blinded by my black and gold shaded glasses. That said, knowing that I really truly am a fan of only one team, I wonder how well I can accomplish objectivity.

Thanks for the validation of the theory that the canucks are pretty spineless.

Put it this way: Matt Cooke would fit in absolutely perfectly on the Nucks roster. I'm surprised they have not tried to trade for him...

I raise you Bieksa, Burrows, Kesler, Torres, Lapierre...just to start. Sure, throw in Rome and even Edler.

I don't think the Pens can ice a roster as sportsmanlike as that.

At least the pens have a few classy non euro trash players to balance it out a bit.

Have you ever noticed Bieksa even has evil elf ears?

Apparently there is also a new law in town, "finger wagging in your opponents face" is now an automatic 2 minutes for unsportsmanlike conduct and a 10 game misconduct. Mike Murphy has spoken but maybe he should have suspended Burrows for biting and we be in this situation where we make up silly new rules to fix it.

Malkin does not bite fingers or pull hair. I'd say he's a saint compared to Hannibal Burrows.

Hockey is serious stuff...if you want to kill someone, just be up front about killing them.

Burrows bites fingers and pulls hair...at least Malkin does not beat around the bush.

Last time I checked, the Count serves at the pleasure of the Billionaires who pay his salary. Sure he's a crafty politician, which is why he's served as commish this long, but to say the tail wags the dog is a stretch.

Care to place a friendly realignment wager for the 2012/13 season?

The Canucks have only gotten to this point because of their gutless and down rite dirty plays.
It has nothing to do with skills.

One of those hits entails a 4 game suspension. The other, zero.

In Chara's case it looked like he was just finishing his check. Looking at the Rome hit again, it was pretty late - he clearly passed the puck already. Either way they've already suspended him.

Pacioretty was trying to slip by Chara and knew he was there the whole time, he was unsuccessful in his attempt. Horton had no idea that Rome was coming and hit him more than a second after the puck was gone.

Rome was also retaliating after Shawn Thornton gave him (along with other select douches) on an earful on the bench. Romes hit came on his very next shift.

Seriously, Vancouver is a bunch of classless douches. Burrows gets away with biting, then the very next game Lapierre mocks Bergeron by putting his fingers in his face. The Sedin sisters along with Burrows mock him on a TV spot referring to him as the "vegetarian" of the line. That not only insulted the Bruins but it was an insult to the league and the league disciplinarians.

That's like talking your way out of a speeding ticket then taking a shit on patrol cars hood.

All evidence suggests otherwise. See Phoenix. What Billionaires would gladly accept losses by the millions unless they were sold a bill of goods and placated by the count.

And the NHL board of governors is hardly a bunch of billionaires. You have a few, but there are quite a few just happy to be there owners with loans up the ying yang. Another 2 teams without an owner, being run by Gary and another bunch making so much money they wouldn't dare stir he pot.

No one said your Canucks were a skill-less team.

The fact is, Vancouver can be such a terrific team if they decided to stop with the stupid shenanigans and just play with their skills...Like I said, it's not just me here...if the REST of Canada more or less is doing a collective yawn and the general consensus is "Canucks suck", there is a reason.

Certainly, there is not the same sense of "unity" when the Flames, Oilers, or Sens went to the dance from recent memory. The times I've been at a bar to catch a game, the crowd was cheering when your team was scored upon.

Your team is not very likeable. Just a fact.

No one is butt-hurt.

What part of Canada do you live in???

I'm sure Montreal is not yawning. Not that we care what the rest of Canada thinks. (If TO or Calgary went to the finals I cant guarantee that I would be cheering for them either...it would come down to which players I liked better - but then again they couldn't even make the cut). Anyways, the rest of Canada only live in the rest of Canada because they cant afford to live in BC.

Now we have a series. Canucks need to figure out how to beat Thomas. He's been a monster so far. The PP needs to get going!

Chasing Louuuu is not a big feat.

A gutted Chicago team chased him and forced Vancity to play their backup for one game even.

BUT...good for Boston for coming back. Again, you can thank the cheapshot plays from the Canucks for igniting your Bruins...If Boston wins this series, they should send some thank-you cards to Hannibal Burrows, Kesler, Bieksa, Rome, Edler, Lapierre, and Torres.

I'm pretty sure someones gonna try to take a run at Marchand. He has a tendency to get under peoples skin and his goal production along with that will probably put a target on his back. Or maybe just his fingers.
