I admit they suck, but that is the true measure of a fan no?

Is it worse to have a team just plain suck or is it worse to have a team that is relatively competitive during the regular season but never makes it past the 2nd round of the playoffs. At least Toronto never gets your hopes up just to smash them to the ground.

But The Leafs were there for a long time as well. I think at one point they had made the playoffs for 10+ years straight, only to disappoint. So I know how it feels. And IMO, not making the playoffs is worse. I still get giddy for a first round match up. And there's always those rare instances where a 7 or 8 team makes it deep into the playoffs. Last year there were 2, Montreal and Philly.

REPORT: BLACKHAWKS' TOEWS TO MISS 'COUPLE WEEKS' WITH INJURY
Just when the Chicago Blackhawks appeared to getting healthy, they may be forced to deal with another key injury.
According to Tim Sassone of the Daily Herald, Blackhawks head coach Joel Quenneville has confirmed that captain Jonathan Toews will be out a "couple weeks."
Toews was diagnosed with an upper-body injury after he took a hit from St. Louis Blues' forward Matt D'Agostini during the first period of their game Tuesday night. Toews skated off holding his right shoulder and the Blackhawks ended up losing the game 3-1.
On the season, Toews has 15 goals and 18 assists in 38 games.

I just find it frustrating when they have a good product on the ice but it's sill missing the last few pieces that would make it a great product.
The Rangers had one of the best cup wins though. The things Messier did in that town were nothing short of magical. I also liked the Rangers for showing that you can't really buy a cup championship. They were spending some serious dough in the 90's and got no results for their investment.

With the cap things are much more equal but back in the late 90's and early 00's they snagging superstars like and paying crazy $$$ and failing miserably. 02-03 they had Eric Lindros, Mark Messier, Bobby Holik, Pavel Bure, Brian Leetch, Alexei Kovalev and went 32-36-10-4. One of the reasons I love hockey more than the other professional sports is that you can't buy championships. Like dom mentioned, there's always a 7/8 seed cinderella story, it's a game where the character of the players plays a huge factor in the success of the team.

Question, why does the Caps fan in the stands have a helmet on?

Didn't realize the Hawks were in 8th.
The good news is they're only 2 points out of fourth.
The bad news is they're only 4 points up on 14th.

On 24/7 last night (which was really good), they showed Lovejoy getting hit in the face by a puck, in the locker room they stitched him up, not bad, from flying with the team to DC, he became Mask. Man did his face blow up.

I brought that up about 200 pages ago. I liked it when they did it originally because teams were playing to not lose in OT instead of playing to win but now that we will always have a clear winner I say no points for losers but some say the purists would be mad with games being settled with shoot outs.
Senior Moderator
3 points for a win, easy solution.
Anyone else more excited about today's alumni game than they are about tomorrow's?

I just see no reason to give a point for finishing regulation in a tie now that all games will end one team being declared the victor.
Senior Moderator
So 3 - 2 - 1
3 in regulation
2 in OT
1 for SO
That will hopefully get teams moving in the 60 minutes.

Not sure if if its on up here. But I'd bet a Steelers first round playoff exit that it is.
