Good to see the Bruins come out with fire and try and at least get a win (or make a game of it) for Savard.

Cool...another tough game for the Hawks. Here's hoping that stifling play they gave to the Kings continues...because, that's how they'll have to play to win down two top 4 D-men...

Nice to see also that Byfuglien has looked good playing emergency duty on D...

I think a fork can be stuck into the Bruins...but, I don't think anyone below them really wants the last spot.

Thornton and Rask are the only 2 guys on that team who deserve to be wearing an 8 spoked B. The rest of them can go play in Providence until they get a little heart.

As a side note, I knew what was going to happen when I saw Thornton bouncing around like a prize fighter during the National Anthem. Definitely not his style to keep throwing punches when the other guy is down, I think he made a special exception for Cooke.

This team isn't close to what they were last year, it's amazing to me to see how this team fell apart without PJ Axelson, Stefan Yelle, and Chuck Kobasew.

Phil brought speed & goals but toughness and grit weren't on his resume.

PJ played on every B's line last year from 1st to 4th, PP and PK and took penalty shots in the shoot out. He was capable of filing in at any position (other than goal) if the need arose from injury or illness. The front office decided not to offer his a contract this year so he moved back to Sweden.

Kobasew was a straight ahead kind of player who netted 21 goals and 21 assists last year. He wasn't the most talented guy on the ice but he had a lot of heart and played with a chip on his shoulder.

Yelle's got his name on the cup 2x.

I will say that Phil does have a lot of heart, tit just doesn't translate into Hockey toughness. When he was in Boston, he missed games due to injury 2x. Once was for cancer, it knocked him out for about 10 days and again when he had mono which took him longer to recover from than cancer did. Other than that he didn't miss a shift.

Rangers suck, congrats Bruins.

I honestly hope you keep the 8th spot & the Rangers are eliminated, it is preferable to getting in & being eliminated in the first round.

Anyone else notice the Hurricanes are only 6 points back of 8th? This team was buried just over a month ago.

Edit: Make that 8 points but still..

Great! Flyers lose Carter (our best scorer) 3-4 weeks with 10 games left. It isn't bad enough we're down to our 3rd string goalie as well.

Here's hoping Chicago remembers how to hold an effing lead tonight if they get it.

WTF has happened to the air-tight D that they had for most of the season?!?

Stupid behind-the-back-hit by Ovechkin to injure Campbell for weeks. Stupid Johnsson for an "upper body injury". Stupid Wizniewski for giving Seabrook an "upper body injury" with that cheap@$$ hit.

Stupid forwards for not remembering how to backcheck with leads.

Stupid Hawks for letting the Caps run away with the League lead in points. Stupid Hawks for letting the Coyotes catch them.

Stupid stupid stupid stupid.

Yep...stupid. 3 of the Top 6 d-men are out. Do the math...and I don't care if Sawchuk is in net, there's no way Chicago can play well. They aren't grinders who are built to win 2-1 games with that lineup...esp. with the defense that torn up.

Johnsson and Seabs need to come back pronto. Or, Chicago's in a knee-deep problems...Here's hoping they don't backpedal their way into the playoffs because going in on a slump is a quick way to the golf course.

And oh, thank-you Flames for choking and sending the Wings out of the playoffs.

How can a team with that lineup and apparently an elite goalie be this -ish...?

Very nicely played game all-in-all by Da Hawks. Niemi came up big as well...
