The hit was a bad hit, one that will cost him after Campbell fumbles through with it. But you still fail to acknowledge that the hit Seabrook put on Perry was not a good hit. What you posted says it as well.
If it makes you happy, I could go back to the LOST thread and stink that one up with even more gripes over the last episode.

I responded to you about Seabrook's hit on Perry. I think and still think it was clean. But, if you don't...whatever. Does that justify skating out 60 feet and leaving your feet with arms up to the head at full speed...?

I have said it before here that I hate the bullshit retaliation hits/fights on a good clean hits, from the person getting hit or someone defending them and would like to see the NHL go after them with tougher penalties. I don't see Seebrook's hit as clean, he should have gotten something for but not what Miz did.

All I said was it was a clean hit according to the rules, I never said a hit to the head is OK, I also said they need to change the rule, but that according to the current rules it was in fact a clean hit. The NHL held the same opinion as I did saying that the hit was clean according to the rules.
At those meetings Campbell cited the legality of Cooke's hit to Savard as a reason he was not suspended.
This surprised me because being that Cooke was suspended once this year, I expected a suspension even though it was by rule a clean hit, just because of the track record the NHL had with suspensions.

I had issue last year in the playoffs, because your boy ovie (repeat offender with more suspensions than Cooke) consistently targets the head with his elbows, and arms (illegal) as well as knee on knee (illegal) not to mention boarding people from behind (all illegal according to CURRENT rules)

And since you guys are on the hawks/ducks topic. Seabrook threw an elbow right in front of a ref and got away with it, that call should have been made. However, there is no excuse for coming from behind the blue line, full speed and leaving your feet to strike someone in the head/face, that is just beyond intentional and should not be tollerated at any level.

I just turned over to ESPN, they showed Seabrook scoring then, Wiz's hit on Seabrook, the dumbass said the hit was because Seabrook scored a goal. They didn't even show Seabrook elbow Perry.

Jupiter, I've been knocked out playing football. But I got up and walked off the field. Look at the way Seabrook went down-he was not faking it, he was hit badly.

And, by the way, are YOU getting any work done today?

It's pretty obvious Cooke should be suspended for 5+ games if not more. I don't agree with the steve avery, matt cooke, jarko ruutus of the league.. But the league screwed the pouch on that one. And the fact the rule still isn't changed today is ridiculous..

Ovie's hit is in a different class. He tries to play hard and pushed a little early.

I just saw the replay on the 60" screen, much clearer as to what happened.

I am actually head of myself with work today. I have two more PO's to turn in in three hours, so ahead that I'm going to go eff off for a while.

Think they will target Cros, or just Cooke? That's what I worry about, one of our stars getting blasted.

Any word on Malkin, is he back in the lineup?

I'll bite..

A fine for a repeat offender Downie who purposely jumps on back of Crosby knee is ridiculous. Not sure how they justify Ovie who is at least going at a high speed vs Downie who slowly lands on. Downie small fine but Ovie gets 2 games. The league is fucking up and yes someone is going to get seriously injured..

This might be the one that keeps him out from playing. Shit I still feel the effects from a pool cue over 15 years ago once in awhile.

Not sure how you only give 8 games for blantant retaliation/intent. 15 seems more appropriate IMO.

Yet, Seabrook's hit on Perry was borderline. Worthy of at least a penalty.

I hope that's some sort of sarcasm... As domnn just said "blatant retaliation/intent". Ovies hit wasn't even close to that. He pushed a guy a little early. Two games is enough.

Baby steps.. It's a good start.. imo they can't just start handing out 15 games after not giving Cooke anything. At least it's a attempt to get control of the league back.

As much as I hate him for the Savard cheap shot. It was good to see Cooke man up and fight Thorton and take the beating like a man..

I couldn't stay up for the game, but was glad (and surprised) to see a shutout of the Kings. You're right Yummy-they're a very dangerous team (LA).
