Moog: Is the reason you hate the Ducks partially because they are...rather goonish? I was somewhat -ing at the number of hits from behind Anaheim inflicted yesterday against Chicago. I find Anaheim to be very chippy...but, that may have been isolated to yesterday's game.

^^ No, not really. I just hate the quacks like all Kings fans do...because they are the quacks.

FWIW the Kings hit them more than the quacks hit us.
The Chicago Birdies are just a bunch of pansies.

Seriously...with a guy like Pronger on the team....doesn't that say alot?

Whoever plays Ottawa in the first round of the playoffs can start printing their home tickets for the second round right away.

Pffft .. you're assuming that the Sens are gonna be in the playoffs. They'd have
to play .400 hockey the rest of the season to make it (judging by the number
of points needed last year) .. and even that's looking challenging for them right
now.

But .. they play the Kings tonight, the worst team in the league and on a major
losing streak! Kings must be ecstatic .. here come the slump-busters!!!

<----- @ the Sens and their struggles lately.

I don't get it. They have some of the top players in the League on that team. What gives...?

Amazing game yesterday with Pens vs Caps. But a horrible way to end it for the Caps after a awesome game. Ovechicken didn't look too happy.. Gotta feel bad for Backstrom.

Great game. Looks like Backstrom picked the corner

Can't tell you how many times they replayed Crosby after that goal up here.

I was there yesterday, sitting in the upper level pretty much right even with where Ovie buried his face in the ice after the own goal. I couldn't tell who hit it in but I knew I saw no Pens player directly hit it in. So I had a feeling it was an own goal or some crazy deflection. Only after seeing the highlights at home did I see what happened. It looks like Backstrom is getting paid off by someone from the pens.

Overall it was a great game and great atmosphere even though the Pens sleep-walked thru the first 2 periods. About half the crowd was Pens fans and fans from both sides were amped up the whole game.

I heard a bunch of cheering when the Pens scored and heard some Pens chants. I knew there had to be a bunch of fans when I heard the RRRRRUUUUUUTU after a couple hits.

Maybe. I'm not really sure. When you said NY I just kind of put NYI in my head for some reason. I really don't know, it got put in my head somehow. Don't ask the reasoning or logic behind it b/c I have no idea lol.

Fawkin Leafs can't even tank a season properly.

Now they'll finish 9 to 12th worst in league, not make the playoffs and get a shitty draft position. Well done you bunch of losers.

Enjoy Stamkos Moog.

Frustrating isn't it. Everyone wrote them off a while ago and now that the pressure seems to be off they've strung together a few wins. Maybe the Sundin injury will be enough to take the wind out of their sails. The way its going though, especially with the way Toskala is playing, i don't see us getting a lottery pick.

Stamkos will help the Kings alot more than the Leafs IMHO.
The Kings have a great up and coming young core...Stamkos will work quite well with this team.

Kings still have a problem with goaltending. Bernier is the future...but not next year. Kings need to solve this problem.

It would have been a start. You have to start somewhere. Seems you can't can't go wrong with the first 6 or 7 picks.

Pronger is a fawkin goon.

He should be suspended for 20+.

http://www.tsn.ca/nhl/news_story/?ID=232002&hubname=

With poor quality video as evidence, Anaheim Ducks captain Chris Pronger escaped punishment from the National Hockey League after apparently stomping on Vancouver centre Ryan Kesler in a game on Wednesday night.

But a clearer version of the video revealed late Thursday - with a better look at the incident - raises the question of whether or not the star defenceman should face disciplinary action.

While the original game footage showed the incident from a distance as the puck was being cleared out of Anaheim's zone, the second version zeroes in on Kesler and Pronger as they got tangled along the back boards.

The incident happened in the opening minute of the second period in Anaheim's zone after a dump in from the blue line by Canucks defenceman Sami Salo.
Related Info

Kesler - one of two Canuck forwards who chased down the puck behind the goal line - collided with Pronger along the boards and fell, and it looked as though Kesler wrapped his legs around Pronger's feet.

It looked like the Ducks captain appeared to disengage from Kesler, but there was also a form of a stomp or a push with some downard motion from his foot.

"He stomped on me," Kesler told the Vancouver Sun after the game. "He got me on the calf."

I saw that game and I was very surprised that Pronger got nothing in suspensions as this was very similar to the Simon Ruttuu incident. The league has to get this case by case suspension crap out of the game. It should be:
- a purposefuly stomp on an opposing player, you should get 20 games regardless of whatever name is on the back of the sweater, or
- a blatent stick infraction on a player should conicide with a 20 game suspension regardless if the victim plays the next game or not...and so on.

the problem is just like most criminals, these guys cannot be rehabilitated by suspensions. they are always repeat offenders. the league needs to step up and start kicking guys out.

Mind you, I don't think the Kings need Stamkos. They have pretty good young forwards already.

A goalie would be probably what they need...but, they have Bernier.

As for the Laughs...well, too bad they don't have Toews. Or Kane. Or Seabrook. Or Keith. Or Barker. Or Byfuglien. Or Bolland. Or Crawford. Or Wisniewski. Or Skille.
