I think Cabbie and Black Label should get there own thread to discuss when to pull the goalie.

So Fibs, be honest. How much did it sting when you heard the news. Why did you stay away from hockey talk for so long after the news broke? Is seeing my happy too much for you?

Because it's against the rules to review that. Goals don't get reviewed for goaltender interference, the ref calls it or he doesn't, no review available.

Horrid no-call on the Sucks' second goal...but, great comeback game against the ropes by the Hawks...now, a giant Game 7.

Wow, what insanity in the Conference Finals on both East and West...

Debating whether to watch these games 7's or just watch the Babs presser that I have saved on my PVR a few more times.

For a spectator with no particular preference of winner, it is entertaining...but, for fans of the competing teams, it's almost water-torture-like at times.

^ Dude, King Henrik's numbers in Game 7s are beyond stupid...I say this with no sarcasm (as per the norm in this thread), the Bolts are toast.

Tampa's chance was Game 6...and well, they blew that...and now, they are going back to NY facing one of the best goalies on the planet who never loses Game 7? Yeah, sorry...not happening.

Oh I know, like I said, I enjoy having no vested interest at this point because I can better enjoy the games.

Didn't sting at all. We've got a great coach in the Wings (pun intended) if you haven't done your homework yet named Blashill. And if you recall from my recent posts, I thought it would be a coin flip that he left. And if you check with That Masshole and his supercomputer, I said a while back that leaving for Toronto was the only realistic choice for him given his propensity to chase the limelight. It is a bit odd that only Toronto and Buffalo reached out to him. He said it wasn't about the money until it was about the money so I've lost a little bit of respect for him in the process.

Why did you stay away from hockey talk for so long after the news broke?
As you can tell from my recent pics, I had to help Babs move in.

Is seeing my happy too much for you?
Why would you be happy? Like usual, your organeyezashun is doing it wrong. If you want to rebuild through the draft, you need to tank for a few years. That goes against every bone in Babs body, so the leaves will be stuck on the periphery of bubble land and after he's beatdown the players who Shanaban hasn't punted yet, his message will get tuned out just as his contract is up.

He won't be able to effect cultural change, there are simply too many cooks in the kitchen and no veteran leadership whom are both competitors, character guys and proven winners. He's going from Zetterburg, Datsyuk and Kronwall to Dion, Lupus and Robidas and he's not even building from scratch yet because the implosion isn't complete.

And since he took financial advice from domcha instead of fibo, he'll soon see his pay raise ain't quite the sweet increase it looks like on paper.

If you think there is no pain coming, there is pain coming ~ Babs

I'm just bummed we won't be able to sing the domchaonly ditty anymore.

I'll take solace in knowing that you guys can't see that commercial without substituting though.

Babs was offered $4 million per year for 5 yrs and it's not as if that was the last contract he was going to sign. He's getting $6.25 million per in Toronno. Like I said previously, after you factor in the currency risk, higher tax rates and higher cost of living, it's pretty much a wash.

There are six other teams who would disagree with him that The Leafs are Canada's team. And he's not coaching Team Canada talent, but good luck with that. It will be fun beating Babs 4 to 5 times a season and sending well wishes to him on the golf course while the Wings make another run.

BL, please store this one in the DB. I'm going to need to reference it in a couple of years just before I leave home for the cup parade on Younge Street.

So then it wasn't about the money? Can't argue it's a wash, and surely Babs is bright enough to know this so obviously he signed with the Leaves because they were the best choice.

Which is it Fibs?
