Shawn Thornton hit an interesting milestone recently. He is one of 3 players to have played 600 AHL games as well as 600 NHL games however the way he did it was completely unique. While Dave Creighton and Jim Morrison hit the 600 mark in the AHL at the end of their careers, Thornton played 605 over ten year in the AHL before he got called up or good good and went on to win 2 Stanley cups.

How do you feel about Doan ending Letangs season (possibly career)? He's a douche too right? At least he manned up for his questionable but non penalized hit so totally legal and legitimate hit. Unlike a pengoons douche who just runs and hides.

It should have been a penalty, puck was 100 ft away, was not happy with it, Doan is a douche too

Hitting someone shoulder on shoulder is not the same as crosschecking someone into the boards, but nice try

It's so much better when we're arguing about goalies instead of dirtiness. Cuz, see...dirtiness is a gray area.

What you see is dirty someone sees as clean...and vice versa.

Goalie debates...WELL! See, as determined by the legendary goalie expert, Moog, if goalie has won the Jennings Trophy, it is a sign of greatness and namebrandness. Very black and white.

If it should have been a penalty but it wasn't called the league would have stepped in with supplementary discipline. No call, no penalty. No penalty = clean hit is the tag added to this thread after your defense of orpiks hit on eriksson.

But they didn't because it wasn't a penalty and shouldn't have been a penalty. Doan showed character that the pengoons don't understand. When his style of play was questioned, he answered, he didn't run and hide he accepted the challenge to his style head on.

Orpik's hit was clean as deemed by the refs, I haven't heard or seen anyone saying that it should be looked at by the league. He hit shoulder on shoulder, there was no contact to the head. LE got caught with his head down, and no doubt suffered whiplash when his head snapped back. Thornton went after Orpik and took a dumb 2 minute penalty for roughing, seeing that his team was getting a power play, Orpik did what you expect him to do in that situation and skated away to let his team get the man advantage.

Neal is an idiot and will no doubt sit for a couple games, no idea why he did that, but I still don't understand why instead of going after Neal, Thorny went over the edge and attacked Orpik from behind.
Hypocrite much?

So in conclusion, the hit was clean and Letang is a goon who takes liberties and the Doan hit was retaliation

No penalty on the ice, league reviews and decided refs made a mistake. When the league reviewed the Doan hit on Letang they realized the refs got it right, no penalty, legal hockey play..... even against the princessburgh pengoons.

Sure, the refs could have missed it. Then on the penalty end of game he keeps flinging Zook around well after the whistle, no additional call or mention. He was full goon last night.

Obviously the wings are all douches, I just checked google maps and confirmed it, Detroit is not a suburb of Pittsburgh, therefore, all douches

So I'm in Vegas this week. I've determined that there's no way in HELL the NHL works here. Stop the season ticket drive, stop the investigation. Hockey will not work here.

You're welcome Gary.

“I just went to make sure I got a piece of him so he couldn’t jump by me and he obviously went into the boards awkward,” Doan said, according to ESPN.com
