The NHL Department of Player Safety announced that they've fined Rangers forward Tanner Glass $3,897.85 for butt-ending B's defenseman Adam McQuaid at the end of regulation in the B's 4-2 win this afternoon.
At the final horn, there was a scrum along the wall that continued after game clock had expired. In the fray, Glass hit McQuaid in the face with a gloved right hand, and followed with a second blow with the butt-end of his stick in his left.
The shot left McQuaid bleeding from the forehead, and Glass was assessed a five-minute major penalty and a game-misconduct.
The fine is the maximum allowable by the NHL Collective Bargaining Agreement. The B's don't see the Rangers for the rest of the regular season, but the cheap-shot will be one to remember if the two meet in the playoffs.

That's retarded. There was no penalty served as the game was over. And that's the lesson we learned, after the game you can bash a guy in the head with the butt end of your stick and there's no real penalty for it.
Seriously, Glass is in trouble. McQuaid is fawking dangerous with his gloves off and I'm sure he will seek old fashioned hockey retribution for this one whether in the playoffs or next year.
