Had to crack a smile when I received that e-mail. Couldn't believe they are actually painting that name on the concourse and had forgotten I responded to that inquiry a year ago.
Make your pilgrimage to The Joe while its still here and see it for yourself.

Dude, totally serious.
Black Label has the memory of an elephant and he can dig out my post about a year and a half ago when I jokingly put that up. The back story is, one of my co-workers had been a 18 yr season ticket holder and I assumed control of them after he retired because the seats were too good to give up (much to my wife's chagrin). So technically, I personally haven't been a ticket holder for that long, but was grandfathered into the recognition board.
I got a call from the ticket office about a year ago and they said, "Mr. Fibs, what's up with this name? We want to recognize season ticket holders and you need to use your real name or your company name if you want to be recognized". I really didn't care since I don't get off on public recognition, so said "I'll pass but it would be fun if you could put up a the name of my fantasy hockey team". I would have made the name longer but was limited by length. They said thanks but no, and I totally forgot about it until now.
Looks like the powers that be meant for this to happen. Because its the cup.

I'm pretty sure Moog's real name is Philip Pritchard...

No wonder moog ran away from home, knowing everything is easy, having to explain everything is tiresome.

AHL rule changes for next year...
Not sure what I think about the OT rules. I like the switching sides making for the long line change in OT, I like the dry scrape, the 3 on 3 after the 1st whistle after 3 minutes seems a bit wishy washy.
I hope the helmet rule never makes it to the NHL, it's a mans sport, if you choose to continue to play without a helmet that's your choice. They might as well automatically blow the whistle for any injury regardless of possession. Campbell could play for 60 seconds on a broken leg but 5 seconds without a helmet is dangerous?
Rule 85 ("Overtime")
Sudden-death overtime will be seven minutes during the regular season, preceded by a "dry scrape" of the entire ice surface. Teams will change ends at the start of overtime and play 4-on-4 at full strength until the first whistle after three minutes of play, at which time teams will play 3-on-3 for the duration of the extra session.
If the game is still tied after overtime, a winner will be determined by a three-player shootout.
Rule 20.4 ("Major Penalties")
An automatic game misconduct will be applied to any player assessed two major penalties for fighting or three major penalties for any infraction in the same game.
Rule 9.6 ("Helmets")
A player whose helmet comes off during play will be assessed a minor penalty unless he immediately exits the playing surface or puts the helmet back on with the chin strap properly fastened.

I don't really like 3 on 3 but if they had to do it, I'd rather see it be 4 minutes 4 on 4, 3 minutes 3 on 3. I don't like the unstructured nature of "first whistle after 3 minutes" thing, some games could be 4 on 4 to the 6:30 mark some could be 3 on 3 after 3:01.

Season Ticket holders will be honored at The Joe this season...you get to chose the name that will go up on our concourse.
Name on Recognition Board: domchamoogackbriolabel
I couldn't resist a fun practical joke as an ode to Hocky Talk. I would have gone longer, but got cut-off. If they actually paint this on the concourse AND we have a hockey season AND I can find it, will be sure to post a pic.

...and was driving down to see the plaque or to see the "domchamoog" performed
Side note, Moog is soo aware of everything that he knew, he fucking KNEW they were going to make domchamoog a word all on its own. Do you know why? Moog does... he knows everything... even things that will happen a year and a half in the future.

As soon as the regular season starts, I will be sure to post a pic.
Since Moogelino is playing hard to get, I have a mind to call the ticket office to change it to domchadougler.

I told you to change the title back to 4G TL power plenum appreciation thread, you know Moogelino can't resist throwing molotov voynov cocktails at my 6MT superpowerplenumliciousexpialidocious.
Besides, we all know yummy cakes ban is just a cheap trick to get Moogs to come back.

I'm not a preds fan and I'm less of a fan of greasy old mike ribiero but his signing today is the deal of the summer. 1 year 1.05 million, his stock dropped rapidly after his buyout by Phoenix for "behavioral reasons" (apparently his marriage/family life was a mess). He's got to be the lowest paid veteran player with those stats.

Pittsburgh Penguins center Sidney Crosby will not need surgery to repair an injury to his right wrist, the team said Tuesday.
The Penguins on July 9 said Crosby had been receiving treatment for a wrist injury he sustained last season and surgery could be one solution.
"After seeking additional medical advice, doctors have decided not to perform surgery on Sidney Crosby's wrist," the Penguins said in a statement. "Sid will continue treatments and be evaluated regularly while he prepares for training camp in September."
Crosby's agent, Pat Brisson, told the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette that Crosby opted for an injection rather than surgery, which could be needed in the future.
"If this treatment works, you avoid surgery and move on," Brisson told the newspaper Tuesday. "If it doesn't, he will have to go that [surgical] route."
Penguins general manager Jim Rutherford on Wednesday told TSN 1050 Radio that Crosby will be ready for training camp.
"I don't know how the process is going to play out, but I was aware of this from the first day I got here," said Rutherford, who was hired June 6. "And however the rehab goes here leading up to the middle of September, I expect him to be 100 percent coming into camp."
After leading the NHL in scoring during the regular season with 104 points, Crosby had one goal and eight points in 13 Stanley Cup Playoff games. He did not have a point in the Penguins' final three games, all losses, after they took a 3-1 series lead against the New York Rangers in the Eastern Conference Second Round.
Brisson said Crosby was injured in March.
"He knew that something was wrong but kept going," Brisson said. "Obviously, you don't talk about these things (while involved in games), but you have to heal at some point."
Brisson said if a decision is made to have surgery it would come in a matter of weeks.
"It's a form of injection that has been proven to work, but sometimes it doesn't work," Brisson said. "I don't want to get into all the details. … It's a medical way of treating certain injuries."
The newspaper said Crosby met with new coach Mike Johnston last weekend. Johnston said he believes Crosby can avoid surgery.
"Those are some of the questions we asked our trainers and the doctors, and they feel fairly confident that the step they're making right now with no surgery is the right step," Johnston said. "Whether something happens down the road, I guess you can never speculate."
Crosby was awarded the Hart Trophy as the NHL's Most Valuable Player for the second time in his career on June 24 in Las Vegas. He also won the Ted Lindsay Award (formerly the Lester B. Pearson Award) for the second straight season and third time in his career.
During and after the playoffs Crosby said he was healthy, but a source told the Post-Gazette last week that Crosby "did play with a terrible wrist."

Really worried about O'Reilly getting a deal done with Colorado for the long term. I just don't see it happening now that they are going to arbitration. I hate to lose him cause I feel he is a really good player. He just seems to want so much more than what he is really worth. Rumor is they have been giving him an offer around 6mil a year for 6 years. Apparently he wants something in the range of 7mil+ possibly which I guess he might be able to get as a UFA down the road.

My prediction is we get screwed. I wish he would take a 6 or 6.5mil deal for 6 years and be done. I think he take the arb 1 year deal and we trade him and get almost nothing for it. We are going to let a great defensive forward go. This has all the makings of when they let Chris Drury leave.
The messed up part is they could have let O'Reilly or Stastny go but having both gone is really going to hurt the team big time next year.
