Actually, we do have a shot. A better shot than Illinois.

UT loses against UK, and UGA goes to the Championship game. They lose to LSU there. UGA, by the factor of having lost later in the year, would fall below UF. We would move up to the Top 10, and have a great shot at making a BCS game.

I'm guessing they don't consider there regular season to be over until the championship game is played because of the two divisions.

Yes?

If true, UT has a possiblity of an auto bid, and then it is shear madness as to who gets in between lsu or georgia. LSU could get screwed just for playing in the SEC championship, whereas Georgia will be sitting home. It would be pretty nuts to think LSU might not make it to a BCS game because of what could happen in the SEC championship. UT gets the auto bid, and LSU might slip below Georgia, leaving LSU out of a BCS game.

Crazy shit this BCS.

If it is LSU vs. UT and LSU wins out then LSU goes to NC champ game... UGA will get the Sugar Bowl bid. UT will get jumped by UGA.

If it is LSU vs. UGA and LSU wins then they go to NC game, UF should get the SEC bid in the Sugar Bowl. UT got raped by UF, so UT wouldn't get that bid. You also have to consider the following UF has > Illinois especially since the game will be down south. UF would get the nod over an Illinois team.

Now if UGA won the SEC game, then it would be a tough call, but I think LSU would get the nod over UF. Considering the Sugar Bowl is in Louisiana then I think LSU would get the nod over UF.

Yes I could see that happening, but I still think it would be a tough call for the Sugar bowl not to pick LSU even if they lost to UT. No one wants to hear rocky top play

That is true. It would all come down to the pollsters.

So if UT wins, and goes to the championship game and loses. LSU is in.

Georgia just has to win this next game, sit at home during the SEC champ. game, and they are probably in just because they didn't lose.

Almost seems as if UT is doing Georgia a favor.

Ya, in no way am I saying Illinois will get the nod over any SEC team. The SEC will have two guaranteed spots this year. It's just crazy how much there is left to play out in the SEC.

It's the ACC conference that has left the door open for a team like Illinois, or someone else to slip in.

Exactly.

If UT wins, UGA gets an at-large bid, unless they lose to GT.

IF UT loses, then UGA plays LSU in the SEC Championship game. Win, and you're in. Lose, at you'll be playing in the Capital One Bowl, and UF most likely would get an at-large bid.

Very true. Also I don't know about the Big 12.. It'll be interesting to see what happens if Missouri > Kansas, then OU > Missouri in the title game. It may not even be OU representing the Big 12 south in the title game.

Post Saban likens Alabama loss to 9-1-1

Um...

Source: CNNSI

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. (AP) -- Alabama's latest loss has coach Nick Saban searching for ways to motivate his team.

Citing the 9-11 terrorist attacks and Pearl Harbor, Alabama coach Nick Saban said Monday his team must rebound like America did from a "catastrophic event."

In this case, that would be an embarrassing 21-14 loss Saturday to Louisiana-Monroe.

"Changes in history usually occur after some kind of catastrophic event," Saban said during the opening remarks of his weekly news conference. "It may be 9-11, which sort of changed the spirit of America relative to catastrophic events. Pearl Harbor kind of got us ready for World War II, or whatever, and that was a catastrophic event."

Alabama's just getting ready to face No. 25 Auburn, its biggest rival, on Saturday.

A Saban spokesman said the coach chose the 9-11 and Pearl Harbor references to illustrate the challenges facing his team.

"What Coach Saban said did not correlate losing a football game with tragedy; everyone needs to understand that. He was not equating losing football games to those catastrophic events," football spokesman Jeff Purington said in a statement to The Associated Press. "The message was that true spirit and unity become evident in the most difficult of times. Those were two tremendous examples that everyone can identify with."

@STL I wish I could watch it. Hopefully there will be a TV at the tailgate or around our tailgate. Should be an interesting game to watch

@Jedi I think they deserve it, but I am feeling that if McFadden gets running this weekend LSU will lose..

so what? that doesn't have shit to do with MU or this game.

KU hasn't played anybody decent this whole year, so they should have covered their spreads...it's what they are SUPPOSED to do!

...won't be so easy on Saturday chickenhawks!

just pointing it out... I'm not trying to say who's going to win the game. No team has ever covered the spread for every game in a single season.

If it's what teams are supposed to do, why hasn't MU covered all their spreads? Even if their SOS is more difficult point spreads reflect that in each game.

That is kinda impressive...

If you had bet $100 on Kansas at the begining of the season and let it ride, you would have $102,400 right now!

Fuck you ABC/ESPN.

Switched off the WVU/UCONN game in the middle of a play to show the Georgia Tech/Georgia game on both ABC and ESPN. Why the fuck?
