I had wanted to throw in my door speakers this past weekend, but my garage is still not usable and it rained all weekend, so that will have to wait till another day. However when I was working on the truck the mailman showed up and brought me more goodies.
And speaking of door speakers, I happened to look at the 6.5's that came out of my rear doors and wasn't happy to see this. I've been debating if I should try and clean up the contacts and reuse them or if I should just use it as an excuse to buy something new.... I already need another set of 6.5's for the rear hatch so I'm really leaning toward just buying 2 matching sets. Definitely wasn't happy when I saw this... Not sure I want to throw rusty components in a brand new vehicle...

Is that the black laminate overlays for the badgers? Did you happen to find them for better than $80ish?
I need to redo my plastidip job and am tempted to get those instead so it'll last longer than 5 years.

Well I got the door panel off, and was all set to install my 6x9's from my last truck in the doors, only to find out that they changed the screw holes and the adapter bracket that I've had for 2 4Runners will not work on this truck.
So since it was a nice day and I wanted to get something done I went to work swapping out all of the halogen bulbs with high power bright white SMD led bulbs
I got the dome, all 4 doors, and license plates switched out
I tried to get a shot of the dome, but I don't think it was dark enough
I love how bright these things are, the license plate LED's are SUPER freaking bright! I also replaced the reverse light bulbs, but hard to get a picture with your vehicle in reverse on the hill even with the parking brake on, but they're the same bulbs as these
Also, since I lost a clip the other day when I was putting in the high beam bulbs and I said the truck "wasn't new anymore" since I lost the clip, I had to rectify that...

Here's a couple better pics of the LED bulbs, it's been too cold to do much else on the truck lately, and my garage is still not usable
Rear tailgate
Dome and map lights, outside the truck
Dome and mirror with the door open, these map lights are insanely bright
A shot from the back of the 2 domes

Just a small update, but I finished my LED swap of all the incandescent bulbs. I swapped the puddle lights in the mirrors out, and now you can actually see them at night lol. Taking the mirrors apart was nerve racking and stressful but not overly complicated, still a lot of work just to change out a damn lightbulb though!

Do you have a dedicated thread on T4R or just the occasional daily thread? Although, I guess this one is fair game enough to ask questions on...
Where'd you source the LEDs?
And do you find the rear view camera works as well with the LED reverse lights? In my wagon, I keep thinking that the LEDs aren't as good as the incandescent I took out. Either they're too bright and are causing the camera to blow out the image, or it's the wavelength that is unfavorable to the sensor.
I'd like to replace all the lights in the truck soon and like how yours are shaping up.
