Not much of an update, but it was sunny the other day so I tried out my new foam cannon with the pressure washer. The truck was disgustingly covered in salt, but it's amazing how shiny that paint and ceramic still looks in the sun

I can't believe how shiny it looks even covered in salt lol

I didn't get any after pics because it started raining

Definitely can't wait for spring to do a full detail

Thanks man, one of them came out perfect, unfortunately I went a little heavy handed on the last coat and it bubbled a bit, so I'll have to sand that down and repaint, but I'm so damn close to getting these headlights together. I also just ordered something to go with the headlights that I can't wait to show

Colts don't spoil the surprise this time!

So they finally came out with a fully blacked out tail light so I had to jump on them. I sold my Depo blacked out tail lights and swapped the stock chrome ones back on until theses showed up. I love the look of these and they're what the back end badly needed. These will match my blacked out headlights so much better.

Here's the stock photo from when I ordered

And here's the tail lights unboxed

I really like the look

The only thing I didn't like was that you have to swap your stock wire harness from the stock tail lights, but it's super simple. I had to do this on my 4th gen tails as well.

Here's a couple side by sides with the stockies, no more chrome

And here's the first one installed, trying out the red markers and amber turn signals.

Loving the look

Side view

And here's a side by side on the truck with the stock tail on the right

These come with built in amber turn signals so I lose my Lasfit bulbs. They have a built in resistor though so no hyper flashing. Mounted them here

And here is both installed, looking great on a salty dirty truck

Looking great with the black emblems and roof rack

One more shot

Gonna have to do something about that trailer hitch rust

I like the black accents on blue, the blacked out headlights will be a HUGE change. I'm not trying to go too crazy, I already had issues getting my truck inspected just with a tint visor on my windshield.

I'm also worried about the blacked out headlights passing inspection, so not going to do much black beyond that. I've already tinted the windows, blacked out the mirror turn signals, tail lights, third brake light, fog lights, emblems, not sure how much more black I can do? I thought about adding black door handles but I like the blue. Keep in mind this is my daily driver so I can't go too far on murdered out since I drive everywhere in it

Move to Mississippi then and leave that common wealth life behind!

You can do anything... 5% tints all around, 55w HIDs, straight piped, whatever you want... Hell, a lot if people turn their cars into rat rods!

Not to mention that no one cares about the speed limit or the massive burn out sessions all along Beach Boulevard. It's a car enthusiast dream!

Not to mention it never snows so there is never salt!

+1 for keeping the blue & going with black accents, but not replacing OE blue parts with black.

Looking forward to seeing it all together.

Are you working from home for awhile, C...? If yes, I would assume you've got alot more time to work on the vehicle?

Yeah I am stuck at home... Haven't had much time to work on the truck aside from doing the tail lights, but hoping it warms up enough for me to finish the paint on the headlight housings

new tails look Liking the look a lot. Keep an eye out for condensation on those aftermarket tails though, may need to have some RTV or butyl rubber on hand in case a reseal is necessary.

Looking forward to seeing the progress. Yeah, I think at this rate, we're going to be stuck at home for awhile...so, hopefully you'll be able to move forward with all the projects you have in mind.

Yeah I know, this is my third set of aftermarket tail lights. I had to remove the gasket to install the stock wiring so I made extra sure that I had it on in all the right areas, but I definitely have both RTV and Butyl just in case. Thankfully my truck hasn't left my garage lol

Yeah, definitely trying to figure out what I can work on and when. I have several parts and fluids waiting to be installed. We're also trying to get our house ready to sell so I have to balance those projects as well

Oh! Why are you moving?

This COVID-19 issue may make selling your house more complicated maybe? Dunno...hopefully it goes smoothly.

Looking to upsize to a larger house, the housing market here is insane right now, at least it was before Covid and the market tanking. We haven't listed yet so we're trying to ride this crap out for now. I"ve been in this house 13 years so I'm not in a hurry to sell, but would like to move to a larger house once the world goes back to normal

I see...good luck!

FWIW, with the market and economy in right now, it may be tough to sell your current pad. But, talk to your realtor (hopefully he/she is a good one) and they'll be able to give you some good advice on what direction to go.
