Got my radio wiring harnesses all built and soldered together.

The heat index is over 100 right now, so no way I'm going to be ripping my dash apart right now... So, More to come

Nice work!

I got a new car and have a new system coming tomorrow, it's 101 @ 11:30 (cool for now) I have the full system, header & intake I want to install but it's hottt.

Did I miss what system you got?

A bit over my scope of experience.
We're having an unseasonal stretch of 'cooler' days (in the low 90s, low-to-mid 70s in the morning). Rode the [motor]bike to work today & it was really nice.

This is definitely the most complex HU that I've ever wired up, especially with the iDataLink Maestro harnesses and all the stock Toyota harnesses, but I've been wiring head units for 20 years so it really wasn't that hard or complex overall, just a few gotchas that I had to work through here and there. I also wired in a bypass relay for the eBrake which was a bit tricky as well.

Blaupunkt was the shiznit back in the day. I hated their proprietary speaker wire connectors though.

It is now too hot outside to do a radio install even if it does show up.

I did do a tiny little mod today, as you guys know I'm not a chrome fan... Here's a before

AJT who made the key that I switched mine to just came out with these little chrome deletes so I had to jump and grab one.

I wiped down the steering wheel with interior detailer, then wiped down the chrome piece with alcohol. It's a nice piece and would be a nice projectile into my forehead if the airbag ever goes off. But I like it

Here's a couple further back...

The radio harness is all wired up and ready to go... At the last minute I decided to order another set of Toyota OEM radio brackets because the ones that came with the dash kit are cheap plastic and I hate hate thieves.... So, OEM Toyota steel it is.

I had to modify the brackets to seat the radio since the stock on has these black dimples to hold the radio in place and aftermarket radios don't.

And here's a test fit of the brackets. It's all ready to be bolted in. We had been taking my vehicle to look at houses, so now that I have a few days of downtime hopefully I can get the dash ripped out one of these days. This is all you get for now

Try Florida...
you wouldn't do shit for 11 months of the year.
Looks good, Chris.
J hated the gold "Chevy" bowtie on the steering wheel as well.
I took my chances with PD and glossifier on top and it actually
looks perfect.

Your option seems much safer J that adding a plastic projectile. The plastic cover does look really good though.

So much better than chrome

And I have permanent scarring on both my arms from airbag dust, so a little dent in the forehead from a plastic emblem wouldn't be the worst thing to happen to me during a crash

True car fans have their vehicle's logo embossed into their forehead

If you don't, can you really call yourself a car enthusiast?

The steering wheel emblems can be charged out I'm sure. Done it twice already and have never noticed a difference between the OEM to aftermarket emblem.

Did you get your convex mirrors from cartrimhome? I seems to recall yours were the concave, blue, turnsignal, *with* heaters, yes?

Cartrim seems to ebb and flow with their products and don't always carry the same knockoff shit all the time. Right now the mirrors don't specifically say they have the heaters. I'd like to pick up a set but don't want to give up that function.
