Got the new tail lights installed, I'm not used to them yet, but I like the different look. Here's a few pics:
Side by side with stock

First one installed

Old vs new

Had to check out how the LED's in the clear compared to stock

All done!

Washed the truck and took some afters

I'm liking them so far, they match my blacked out headlights well, speaking of clean truck.

Looking sweet man, my brother has a similar 4Runner, except he got the v8 and loves it.
ever consider getting the rear roof spoiler? I'm not sure what its called officially but it goes on the rear tailgate and is usually painted to match the car. I think that would finish off the rear end nicely.

Here's a pic of my old 4Runner with the spoiler, so this was what I was used to for 6 years
And I agree, the rear end definitely looks lacking without it

Hahaha look what I started!
Man of all the stuff you've done here it'll probably be cake. I'm pretty sure you just measure twice and drill once
no but seriously, I think all you have to do is make sure you use touch up paint around the drilled holes to prevent rust.

Yeah, I have a whole shelf of parts for the ack that were "great ideas" too
Yeah, I'm sure it can't be any worse then when I modified the dash with a dremel

Truck is going back to the body shop tomorrow to fix the 2 issues that they never fixed/addressed, 1 of which was caused by them. Hoping to be done after this

They didn't fix the rear passenger door lock actuator that failed after the impact, and when they took the rear hatch window apart for painting they lost an actuator or some part that makes the window go down when you press the remote button and none of the auto up/down functions work anymore.

random thing I just remembered; have you upgraded your brakes at all?
We were swapping pads and rotors on my brother's the other day when we realized one of the pistons on his caliper was siezed. He opted to replace both fronts, but after some research we found out that the 5g 4runner calipers are a direct fit and are upgraded to prevent the seizing issue and are a little bigger (the require slightly bigger rotors). We use his truck for towing, and since the parts almost cost the same, we did the conversion this past weekend.
It was a breeze. Only modification required is to bend back the dust plates a little to accomodate larger rotors. The calipers bolted right on
If you frequent any 4runner forums I'm sure you probably heard about it!

Just picked my truck up after 8 days
They fixed the 2 main issues that I had a problem with, so that's a win. They also did a full detail on it, and even though I'm not crazy about the sticky ass armor all on the doors, I can easily correct that. They did do a nice job on the paint correction and wax, so at least my truck looks sharp. The ABS and Traction Control lights come on randomly, and have ever since I got the truck back from the shop the first time. I asked them to address this as well, but it was a struggle just to get the other 2 things fixed, so I'm taking it as it is. The ABS lights come on, but don't stay on which I'm assuming is some kind of sensor, so I'm going to take it to my own shop and try to get that figured out. Either way, I got my truck back

Wow, great thread. Thanks for all the ideas. Sorry about the accident & messes they made. How did you wire the ashtray? The connector without it is under the powerpoint & smaller than the one on the ashtray.

Thursday I hit a pretty cool milestone and thankfully was paying attention and grabbed a pic

Friday I changed the oil for the first time in about 8K miles, ran a half quart of clean synthetic through and let it drain for about a half hour. Then filled it up with fresh Mobil 1 and a Fram Ultra Synthetic Oil Filter.

Not yet... Still going back and forth, only have 6 or 7 payments left on this one, so trying to convince myself to keep it for a while
