Xlr8 has a Rotora 355X32mm BBK for a little over $2,500. Soooo, I can't justify that. But for less I could have a shop make a custom spacer and do the S2000 kit:

But I just might upgrade to a slotted stock size with some green stuff.

BBK on and RDX starts looking ricey IMO. Stock size rotors with some HPS would look best

Meh, looked around a bit for anything with a manual trans.... found nothing. I even looked into getting a new 6MT Accord coupe, but at the risk of sounding like a bratty spoiled 16 year old, they didn't have the color I was hoping for... I mean, I saw someone driving an Accord coupe that had a color similar to my ABP CL. If I could get a 6 speed ABP Accord, then I'd snatch that up.

But honestly if I had the means to get it all done, I'd just do a 6 speed trans swap in my CL. As a matter of fact, I'd be willing to spend way more than it's worth to get a 6 speed swap done. Problem is the closest 6 speed trans I can find is (according to car-part) about 600 miles away. I'd at least want to know its in usable shape before I spend a ridiculous amount of money for delivery...

At any rate, if I decide to keep the CL, then a good chunk of the money I'd be spending on a new car would go to the CL Was thinking of doing a nice repaint (last owner left a lot of scratches and scuffs on the paint) so would anyone recommend anything?

Repainting it right is about $6,000. Not with it IMHO. Get the DrColorChip.com touch up for $58 shipped and fix most of the big ones. Then buff the shit out of it.

If you are like me I have a ton of projects that never get done.
Tint my windows? What?

$6K? Wow, I was thinking it wouldn't cost more than maybe 1200 or so for the whole car....

I may have to go with the touch-up, then. I actually have never done a buff or proper wax to the paint since I bought the car.... sadly.

And yeah if I keep the CL, I was gonna do a brake upgrade, put better motor mounts on, and throw on a set of DC Sport headers. If I had extra money to burn, maybe get a new set of wheels. For some reason I really like the look of the 07 TL base rims. The trans has been acting nicely lately so I think I'm in the clear with that.

tranny swaps are not all they are cracked up to be. You'd be better off just sourcing a CL with a 6spd and calling it a day. How about a Subaru BRZ? That's a nice car and you could get a manual :P

depending on how deep the scratches are you could just do a light wet sand and buff..

Saw one of Mazda's new CX-5's the other day at Freddies. Looks pretty good! Might have to put it on the list as one of the TSX's possible future replacements.

I'm all talk, I'll probably never buy another new car. I was watching Top Gear UK tonight and they had a nun in a monster truck jumping over some old cars. All I could think was, "shit I owned a couple of those cars." If I had kept them, instead of trading up because I wanted to impress the chicks, I would have $30k more money in the bank. Maybe new kitchen cabinets wouldn't seem so out of touch. For that matter if I had not blown $8k on custom suspension, wheels, tires and tunes on a Mazda I ended selling for Kelly blue book, I might be able to pay for a REALLY NICE Hawaiian resort package.

Hmm, changing priorities. I must be getting old.

haha.. same here. it won't be so hard to buy a overpriced tsx right now if some of the modding money have been saved up.

tsx... more than $15k
tl... little more than $10k
240sx... around $10k

and if i buy tsx again......

Wish more people made improvements to their vehicles, then the search would be easier. As it is right now it is hard to find a car that is simply "in good condition."

^ amen on that.. its why i gave up for a while.. too many vehicles out there with minimal damage done (scratches, door dings, etc..) and dealers saying its cosmetic and shouldnt effect the price.. then what i want to deal with..

^So they are too cheap to fix the damage before they sell it. Fuck-um. I have a couple of good screr scratches on the back of my passenger seat from hauling a ladder inside the RDX. I will replace the plastic piece myself for $90 (eBay). But you can bet the dealer would just put some black cover-up over it.

Anyone have "dish" for TV and internet? Thinking about making the switch from Comcast because our last bill was $170!

go down to Comcast at Nimbus Ave. and get a new bundle. They will do it at the office but not over the phone. Been doing that for years now and never fails.

Though we found our bill even with bundle (triple play) was too high, so we ditched the phone for google voice via Obi (lil device that plugs into your router so you can use your regular phones and not have your computer on) for free, then we ditched HD and now we pay just 65.00/month and can call via google voice anywhere for free. People say our voice quality is better than it was with Comcast. Schweet.

I'll give it a try. They are robbing us blind. We don't use our home phone, most of the calls (collection) are for the previous family who I actually feel sorry for.

I ditched the cable TV and satellite. Strictly Hulu, Netflix and MLB. Costs me about $300 a year for all that.

See I'm getting hosed, I just have 1 channel of Stars. Get to see great movies like:

Pirates/Caribbean
A love Song for Bobby Long
Scenes of the Crime
Jumping the Broom
White Chicks

I'm not joking. Those are the movies on Stars today.

I don't have a 3D set. My plan is to start saving cash everywhere I can. Down to three days a week at work. Dropping all the little extras that cost me $$$. No more alarm monitoring, fuck AAA, not renewing the magazine subscriptions, telling my BFF to drive over to my place for beers, cancelling my monthy Massage Envy membership, etc. Need to make a family budget so we don't spend money on frivolous things like excersize tops.
Do you know how many tops Carrie has? More than 6. Why does anyone need a different top for Yoga vs. the elliptical???

Oh ya, we need to get a sugar daddy. Then we could afford to hire a wife to do the laundry and clean the toilets.

Currently negotiating price online on this tsx. I tried sourcing few tsx from out of state, but the deal failed due to many issues. Also one dealer tried charging $499 for doc. fee

'07 ASM/Ebony/Nav 52k miles asking $22k
Currently all of tsx with 60k or less miles are price around mid $18k~19. Brought the price down to high $19k, but if the dealer offers low $19k or lower, I'll pull the trigger.

Comes with amazing chrome DUB's.. And also has oem rear spoiler... not a fan of that either.

wheels are the first thing that needs major attention if the deal is successful. Even my anti-mod wife says it needs new wheels.

if they really can't lower the price anymore, I will go with honda fit route. i searched online for fit's real world mpg and surprisingly fit is getting far better mpg than stated epa rating. rated 27/33 mpg, but in the real world people are getting 30+ in the city and 38+ on the highway.

or... i'm also thinking about 09~11 toyota corolla s. not sure about toyota's quality and reliability these days, but low used price is attractive.

Corolla S is just a trim package that consisted of: Spoiler, body skirts, aluminum wheels, fog lights, and sport interior. It's a dog. Engine sits backwards in the bay in an attempt to make the interior less noise.
Open head can't be modded for more hp. Skip it.

I'm thinking corolla s mainly for the exterior look. I always thought the S looks really good for conservative sedan.

But I'm leaning more towards the Fit. Pretty good aftermarket support and nimble handling and much better mpg than I thought. 30+ in the city will make me happy because my Accent is getting super shitty mpg for its size and weight.

Accent is rated 25city/30hwy but I only get about 22. Only 47k miles, all the required maintenance done including seafoam, but averaging 22~23mpg.

I'll take it if the deal goes through. Back in '06, 06~08 stockies looked fugly, but guess people's taste changes. I think it looks really good now. haha

What about the TL-S stockies???

Honestly I really love how the Optima looks in and out. But price is out of my budget with the options I want.

Honda Fit candidate. '09 Sport with nav. But will not buy if that Parrot bluetooth is drilled on.

Drove the Fit while car shopping for my deadbeat sister. I'm to fat for the Fit (Pun intended). Liked the Matrix better. Ultimately she decided on a Subaru Impreza Outback sport. I had for about a week and I gotta honestly say it was a blast to drive. It was cheap and fun. Sure some shit got broken, like the plastic on the mirror, but she'll never know I shot the ditch with it on German Town RD!!! If I needed a grocery getter and had <$20k to spend that would be my choice.
