Hey, I'm back, been in Indianapolis watching the MotoGP race and suffering through hurricane Ike. Spending 3 days outside in the rain didn't do anything for my health, I am currently illin at home.
The clutch shouldnt be too terribly hard. I have done a few rear-drive jobs on different cars and they are usually not that big of a deal besides the bolts at the top/back of the motor. I haven't read the how-to yet, but I can't imagine it is too terribly different from the experience I have already, after all we are just pulling a tranny off the back of the engine and putting on a new clutch.
I am in town this weekend and then back out next weekend for a wedding in Green Bay. So, if we are going to do it, we had better get after it this weekend. I think we should definitely start around 8 or so on Saturday morning just in case we need parts/tools/more time.

Ok, so I take back that 'how hard can it be' statement. After reading that DIY, I wonder why we don't just yank the engine from the car and change the clutch on the bench? Holy crap you have to take a lot of stuff off!

I'm talking like I can get there maybe around 6 am, you can just open the door and go back to bed, and then others can help maybe at like 9 or 10am or something more reasonable. by this time I should have it ready to lower the engine. I'm also really anal about labeling bags with bolts n stuff and stacking them in the order they came out so the reversed 'put back together' half is orderly... I can get this all done in the early morning too.
Currently I have the flywheel resurfaced in my livingroom, and I'm waiting on the clutch/PP/bearings which should be here soon (ordered a week ago from hondaautomotiveparts.com)

I dont know about 6AM, but I can try to be there early. I know we need to get that done before Jorge has to be at his football game/party/soccer game.

I saw an 02-03 SSM with tinted windows and probably about 18 black rims. I didn't have time to stop to put anything on his car so hopefully I'll see him again.

We have a number of people in our building that purchased a loft and are letting their University of Minnesota college student kids and their friends live in it. Those kids are effing up the place and you can tell when they are around because they are the ones drinking cheap ass vodka out of the plastic bottle and screaming and yelling.
I'm not against college students, just the ones that are screwing with my pool!

Well it looks like we're all good to go! Jorge and I will be greating the early morning sun with the sound of power tools this Saturday, so if anyone cares to help... we will aready be elbow deep by the time you get there.
Right now I've got
-resurfaced flywheel
-clutch
-pressure plate
-6 extra drive shaft bolts
-honda super high temp urea grease
-throwout bearing
-pilot bear
-print out of Honda Manual
Cant think of anything else that is needed. I'm really interested to see what my flywheel looks like after the nurmerous 7,000rpm launches I've done during autocrosses.

I think I have brake and carb cleaner... Ill bring them.
I forgot a clutch alignment tool also, but I grabbed my clutch and flywheel today to run out and buy one. if I cant find one, Ive heard a half inch socket with a small adapter works as well.
Im going to go to a car wash and spray my underbody for like 10 minutes to minimize the grit that falls in my eyes also.

Hey man, we ain't messing around here. This is professional grade.
Seriously though, we're headed off to White Bear this weekend to put a new clutch in an S2K.
Put some info about your ride up.

See you all tomorrow! I am shooting for 6am...
Jorge, I'll talk to you tomorrow morning, but incase you see this early.... I'm planning on bringing my tire trailer simply to have rims to stack under the jacked up car (since I will be putting it at the highest settings of the jack stands. I've had one accident working on cars years back, and have heard many other stories.... so you can never be too safe. It will give me my 4 race wheel to stack under the car.
Ill probably call you a little after I leave tomorrow! hopefully I can catch the sunrise and take a few pictures

I am so insanely sore today! 5 hrs of sleep + 10 hrs of work make the body hurt. I went to bed at 11 last night and woke up at about 10:45 today haha... almost 12 hrs of sleep.
Jorge, thanks a ton for the use of the garage. I realized I forgot to take the broom and sweep out the dust last night, and I meant to do that before I left. You should host a big Shop Cleaning soon and I will definitely be there to help.
