What bothers me the most is that it had a J32 motor.

Hello All,

My name is Brian. I recently bought a 04 Acura TL NBP 6spd as a birthday present to myself. Jorge, who I met at RKC this monday, referred me to sign up on Acurazine. I've been surfing on here quite a bit for mods and whatnot. I didn't think there would be a active Twin Cities TL community but I'm glad I found this.

Pics will coming up soon.

There'll be a BM thread on it eventually (when I have time). Just wanted to give local guys a shot first.

I don't think you quite understood Jorge, advice and tips on modifying your car is free. If you need an extra set of hands to help you it will cost you a steak and a 12 pack of beer. Which will buy you about an hour to an hour and a half of Jorge's time after that the rate goes up and the amount of time it gets you goes down. So to get another 30 minutes to hour out of him it is 2 steaks and a 18 case of beer.

Question for those who is lowered on coilovers, do you guys have rear camber kit? I just recently lowered on Tein basic (not maxed out), and got an alignment done. Toes are in spec, but left rear camber is -1.8 and right rear is -2.7.

Also, what is the plan for B4B and MNHonda meet?

Where is everyone located that's going to B4B? I'll get a central location to meet planned once I know where people are coming from. Ideally would like to meet up around 9:00-9:15AM so we can get there and get parking fairly early.

I have the HT-spec coilovers and I bought the camber kit but never used it. My guy aligned it for me and have had no issues. My fronts are just about -1 and my rears are -2. I dont know who aligned your car but it doesn't sound like they did a very good job.

That's some off camber, usually if you dropped your car evenly, the camber should be about the same on each side. I have a rear camber/toe kit but have yet to install it. Camber is fine to have as long as your toe is correct. Bad toe is what wears tires prematurely. I have bad rear toe, stupid tires plus says my shit is stripped and won't adjust it but they look fine to me, so I bought a rear camber/toe kit. Just been too lazy to install it. My front tires wear evenly, my rear ones are pretty bad, one of these days when spring actually gets here I'll put it in.

I will be coming from downtown St. Paul.

I had Jeff the alignment guy do my alignment. I don't think he would do a bad job.

When my friend installed the coilovers, he used the adjusting tools handle as a standard height from the lowest for 4 corners. The car seems to sit evenly. So since my toes are in spec, should I just leave it?

There is a Burger King off of Hwy. 10/61 and Glen Rd in Newport, MN.. It's just south of where 494 and 10/61 meet, and about 10 minutes away from MAP.. How does that work for everyone? The address is:

1598 Hastings Avenue
Newport, MN 55055

Thinking meet there around 9:00-9:15 Saturday morning

From Previous experience on my 04 tl I had the A-Spec suspension installed. I never installed a camber kit on the car, just new tires and rims. I got excessive wear on the inside edge of the tires. Last year I got new tires on my 07 with the same A-Spec suspension. I had an alignment done at WBA by Joe and the fronts were good but I had negative camber on the rears. I bought a SPC camber kit for the rears installed it and had him readjust the rear alignment and the rears are perfect. Camber will wear the inner edges of the tires. Don't let people tell you different. At least get it check out first. I recommend a rear kit for sure. Ask the guys who set their cars aggressive and slammed see how long their tires last. You'll be surprised.

Find another central meet area I guess. I am not that far from MNHonda meet since it is on the east side. I am in White Bear Lake at what time are we planning to go.

I didn't get the rear camber kit because of heeltoe's thread. I have already noticed the inner wear after 1200 miles. There is a controversy about ingall. Which one is better SPC or ingall.

Sadly I can't make either B4B or the MNHonda meet this weekend. I've got a bachelor party all day on Saturday, and God knows that I won't be in any shape to drive come Sunday!

Have fun...

Skip the bach party - Jorge said we can all go to his house after B4B and he'll hire strippers and provide copious amounts of booze for us

We got about 6" of snow here in Cottage Grove; the majority of it has melted though. Here's a photo I took yesterday:

Depending on the weather, I'll make an appearance (without White Heat) at B4B

If tire wear is what your worried about, make sure your toe is set right. The inner part of your tires will wear more than the outer because of camber but it will not eat up your tires anymore than usual.... If your toe is off then you are dragging the tire, not rolling it.

Tires wear is my only concern because its my DD. my left rear toe is -.01 and right rear is .03 which both are in spec.

Everyone buys the Ingalls I have been happy so far with the SPC. Depends on what tires you buy I have the KDW's they are not cheap. I want my tires to last. If you have camber is going to wear your tires on the edges. Wear is wear if it is toe or camber. Either is going to make you spend money replacing tires.
