Seriously, how many cars do you have?

I'm trying to think outside the box a bit with this car. If you look at BMWs, you tend to see the same wheels over and over again, and it just gets tired. I don't want the wagon to be just another BMW sporting the same wheels as everyone else.

I really liked these until I p-chopped them onto that image, and now, notsomuch. I'm fairly certain that those are a no-go.

Haha, the Mustang is not all mine though. It was bought for my dad, two older brothers, and myself to have fun with. It's a car that will be passed down from generation to generation. It's a 2001 5-speed Mustang GT. So far we have added glasspacks, sunroof, and staggered Yokohama S.drive tires. I have HUGE plans for it, but White Heat and BIG RED take most of my money at the moment Since everyone is posting teaser pics, I thought I might as well too!

Do any of you own a welder and/or know someone with a welder? I am buying either a FlowMaster Super 10 [http://tiny.cc/kzemc] or Super 44 [http://tiny.cc/9ezg3] muffler for my KJ (Jeep). I want to remove my OEM muffler and weld the aftermarket one in its place and leave the rest of the exhaust stock...

You guys should have brought the Mustang and the Murderwagon to Autox today... There was a brand new 2011 Mustang GT out there and a brand new BMW 5 series today.

Hey Josh, Tint Pros Mobile is coming out to tint my windows tomorrow. They use the Global Window Films High Performance film. According to Global Window Films' website, it is a metalized window film. I have the Escort Passport 9500ix GPS Enabled Radar Detector and am concerned that this film will interefere with my detector's performance, since I believe I read something where it stated that a metalized window film can have this effect. Tien said that this film shouldn't affect my radar detector but it does affect some, but not all, factory navigation systems and AM radio stations. Do you guys know if I use this film, if it will interfere with my radar detector's performance?

No idea. It doesnt affect my V1.

I'm going to have them come out and re-do the wagon darker.

If this tint doesn't affect your V1, I would assume it wouldn't affect my 9500ix

Also on Global Window Films' website it states that the tint is a charcoal color. Does the 20% tint film look grayish or is it a straight black?

I am assuming you are converting your 35% in the front to 20% to match the rear. I thought you would have done 20% to start with. I hate the look of different tint percentages from the rear to the front. It's just one of my pet peeves

I wouldn't expect that it would affect your radar detector anyways, since it would have a clear view of the windshield.

The factory GPS and AM antenna is located in/under the back window, so anything you do to the back window would have a bad effect on factory stuff.

It's not the front that I am worried about, I am worried about receiving alerts from the back and sides. I have been pulled over before from a cop passing me going the opposite way and then using his rear radars to clock me (he actually admitted this to me).

In my KJ, my radar detector is custom mounted on my rear view mirror. This is a great solution since it is nearly impossible to mount basically anything on your windshield during Winter. Thus, I am concerned my 5% visor will affect the GPS function of my detector to establish a connection.

I'm actually thinking of going 20% in front and 10% in rear. I like the different tint levels because of the privacy it offers you in the rear, but then it is still something you can see out of at night in the front.

I may just live with what I have since we have the built-in shades that we can use to supplement, but I might also have them do the roof. That's a lot of glass letting in a LOT of light, but the tint still appears light even when the solid cover is over the roof.

Try 3 times that cost! I went to Muffler Doctor here in Cottage Grove and they quoted me $75 to install my new muffler That's about the same cost of the muffler! He originally quoted me $40 and he would acquire the muffler I wanted. When I asked if he would price-match the muffler from on-line, he said that he couldn't touch that price and told me to get it myself. Since I am acquiring the muffler myself, he raised the install cost to $75

Muffler Doctor is basically the only shop in my city that can weld my muffler. Do any of you know of another shop that can install my muffler at a better price than $75?

There is a welder in the shop next to the Alignment Guy, Tom's Welding & Repair. It's just off American Blvd on the east side of 35W.

Car looks good, Jorge! Hope to see it next summer!

Josh, i actually like the bullet style wheels on the wagon. Has anyone done anything like that in the past? I think it would definitely be a unique look.

I want a 5 series wagon. So badass!

Most of the BMW community has determined that they don't like those wheels on a BMW. I think one comment was along the lines of 'those wheels don't deserve to be on a BMW' or something like that.

But, these are also a group of people that pretty much run the same wheels in different colors.

I replaced the blue/white with a carbon fiber black/silver one a couple of weeks ago. I did the wheel center caps too, so now they are all dark.

Damn, that clutch looks like something out of a sci-fi movie. Would have been a good time to replace it with a heavy duty unit to handle all the power that the exhaust is going to add.

So BIG RED is sitting pretty on four jack stands for a week or so The reason, I am getting my wheels powder coated. Since I have my wheels off, I thought I might as well do a brake job and paint my calipers.

What is the best process and parts to use for painting calipers?

I am thinking about going with Rotorpros drilled/slotted rotors and EBC Brakes Red Stuff brake pads. What do you guys think about this set-up? How do you think the drilled/slotted rotors will operate in the Winter (e.g. ice building-up in the drills and slots)?
