I have to agree with you Bmeyer. The fact that it does have HP and quality is a seller for me. If Iwas to get a " project car " I would be in debt for a while in this economy. I do agree that american muscle cars can get 1000 hp out of the V8 but you can get the same out of a Supra or Z car and still have a quality vehicle with syle. I think the one american car I like would be the new mustang but you can't get one of them to start messing with HP until your warrany expires.

But anywho. Sale Pending! I think a fellow Aziner from NC is going to hop on a flight next Saturday and pick it up. That was fast! What do you guys think? I thought $12k (13.5 was KBB) was priced competitively, and to move. Did I give the thing away? Or is it just that I take care of my cars and it shows? I just posted it yesteday and I've already gotten 2 people that pretty much have said they want it. Although the guy from NC has all but committed (already has all info, ran carfax etc) to buying it. While the other very interested person is local, they wanted to take a look at it tomorrow. They already own a TL and are looking for a 2nd - so that pretty much tells me that's a definate sale seeing as I have nothing to hide with mine that would make someone shy away.
Hey Glow the reason why your TL is selling so fast is because it is a TL not a Camaro.

Until you have cash in hand, it's not sold. Both of those guys could end up being tire kickers, so keep your price steady, you obviously know you are in a good spot if you are getting call-backs.

While I too long for another car with loads of power, I'm planning on going the M5 route. I have always wanted another BMW since I sold my last one, and I have always loved the E39 body style. The E60 would be more fun with an additional 100HP, but my buddy that had one says that he had to drive it from gas station to gas station in order to keep it going. Since it's going to be a family truckster roadtrip machine, that doesn't sound too good.

It's that or an RS-6 Avant...:devilgrin

IMO, anything more than 600HP is useless on the street, and I think that 600 is pretty much overkill. With that much power you can't even nail it getting onto the hwy without going fast enough to get into serious trouble.

Agreed. Have you seen El Diablo? A guy in Chicago by the name of Dave owns it now.

I was inches away from buying its sister a couple of years back. I'll always regret not jumping on it.

That is a car. I would die to get something like that. I love the 335I or the IX. Thats probably my next car.

That 'El Diablo' car is insane. Someone spent some SERIOUS coin getting that made up. I know that a set of headers for a stock M5 (E39) is over a grand, but the benefit is also really nice.

I saw one or two 2003s for sale in Austin when I was down there last week. All had low miles, but high prices. I'd probably be better served buying an E60 for the money.

I have always wanted to buy a perfectly good car and then tear it apart so that I could build the hell out of the engine. I originally wanted to do it on a '95 Legend 2-door coupe, white with tan interior, but they were never at a good price when I could afford one.

That's why I got a landline and gave you the number.

I'm actually on my way to the airport once again, back to Austin for another week. Then I'm here for the long weekend and flying to Dallas for the first few days after the holiday. I should be able to be home for a bit after that though, everyone knows that Erin is due in mid-September and they are going to try to keep me in Minneapolis.

I'm starting to wonder why that black one is still there, it's been well over a month since the first time I saw it. Maybe because it's an automagic? Nah, they are all autos now, I wonder if there is some issue with it, or if people are just scared off by the black wheels.

Back in Fargo now. Read all the comments in here and looks like Brian and Pineapple want V8 muscle cars. Drastic change from the TL, but nothing wrong with that. I think if the funds were feasible, a DD car thats fun and sporty like the TL and then a tire smoking power house for the track and weekends would be the ultimate garage haha

We got the headers and exhaust on the Vette and it is amazing the difference in power just those little things make on a V8. That and it thumps the ground any time you get on it...

fuck acuras. i'm sick of them.. since the new tranny I have been driving conservatively, and taking care of it.
earlier this week the starter stopped working.. They replaced that and the battery and some other bullshit for like $580
then today everything just started powering down (like in the fast and furious!!!1) gauges, lights, abs, engine.. everything.

I don't know how much it will cost to fix but i'm just sick of the money hole that this car is

Just a reminder for everyone, Cars & Cafe is tomorrow morning. The weather is supposed to be great. Might be the last nice C&C for the year.

Is Cars & Cafe open to everyone? It looks a little ritzy to me. I went to their website and took me a few minutes to figure out what the place is I was like it can't be homes they are to close together. The Philosophy page on their website made me laugh though.

The problem:
  • Garage space limits me on the number of vehicle my wife allows me to have.
  • I dread having my special car used as a bicycle stand by my kids
  • I dread all the wasted time waiting for routine maintenance to by done and the mechanic shop
  • I dread having to tow my race car across town to my specialist mechanic
  • Heated storage is hard to find especially in floor heat
  • I like hanging out with other enthusiasts like me
  • I like showing off my prized positions (cars, motorcycles, boat, collection of WWII airplane parts)
  • I like to have a place to hang out to watch the F1 race
  • I'd like to check in on my stored vehicles without having to go there (web cam)
  • Rental places don't seem to have the kind of security that I'm expecting.
If only those were the problems that I faced in my life. I will try to be there may even let my dad know and he could bring his Mustang.

Yeah, C&C is open to anyone that wants to show up. Admission is free. They have coffee & donuts for everyone in the clubhouse.

There is a beautiful Ferrari 250 that shows up every now and then. 7-figure car easily.

I think you passed me and my dad in his Mustang Saturday around 10am on Hwy 5. I kept trying to get him to speed up and get along side so I could check but he refuses to speed so we never caught up before you, or someone who has a similar car, exited to 494 north. C&C was fun there were a lot of very nice cars including a Porsche Carrera GT.

With Glow and Josh selling thier cars I think we should try for a group meet this weekend. Nothing big just lunch at the BW3 on Snelling and Hwy 36 say around noon.
