That's odd.. one of the reasons I chose ATLP was the reported "lack" of drone.

"Stromung Engineering has been around for over 20 years and is widely known in the European car community for their distinct exhausts, and unique tones.
The result of the partnership, we were able to create an exhaust that emits a subtle and smooth tone while cruising, but a deep authoritative roar at full throttle. The UA7 engine, especially the AT models are notorious for drone, and the lack of low end throttle response. Stromung Engineering tuned the ATLP exhaust system to keep drone at a minimum, while also improving throttle response. Mid-range and top end power was increased. The results satisfy, and exceeded my expectations."

I heard similar issues raised about the comptech exhaust that Jeff mentioned but very few negatives about the ATLP quad catbacks for the 07 tl type s.. The video sounded great too, but of course that wasn't recorded from inside the car. I appreciate the input/heads up though.. I didn't realize you had the same exhaust? It will be great to hear it live and not on a recording.
I am seriously hoping that drone won't be an issue.. but thankfully I do have the magic cure - a volume button and a $hitload of power going to sound system. As for work, I usually ride solo.. (Thank god!)
I am certainly going to take you up on that offer for Memorial Day!

Yeah, you probably won't have to worry about the drone, I've ridden in Steve's car and it's not that bad.

BTW..new photoshoot Check it out

From everything else that I have read and heard (from the audio on a few different videos) it seems like it should be okay, but nothing beats hearing it in person with your own ears..
I really do appreciate the heads up.. I guess if it gets to be too much to handle, I could add dynamat. (which is a godsend for keeping the inide sounds on the inside, and keeping the ouside sounds on the outside)

Welcome to the group Glen.. I have been doing custom systems in my cars for YEARS and one thing that I can say is unforturnately.. when it comes to install prices.. you usually get what you pay for.
In my opinion.. Avoid discount auto sound like the plague. I can share with you a long list of personal bad experiences that occurred with them and I won't even take my car back to them to let them fix what they broke because I don't trust them.
GoHo is actually doing some custom work on my car this week.. So far they have made all the right moves and at this point it takes a lot to make me happy. I will let you know how it goes.
If you arent in a hurry, meet up with us at the Memorial Day Car show in Va Beach (see info below in my sig line). I will be happy to walk through a bunch of stuff with you and show you up close what a "good shop" and a "bad shop" can do.
If you want, you are welcome to give me a call. Just PM me and I will send you my cell number so we can discuss things further.
Hope this helps a little..
Mike

Welcome glen...feel free to post some pics of your car if you want. I know, it might be stock now, but when you see the stock pics and then see pics after you've got some mods, it'll make a huge difference. Regardless, welcome to the forum and ask any questions you might have...there are tons of very knowledgeable people on this forum.

Welcome aboard Glen!! Glad to have you here.

I had some work done at DAS here in Bad News (I know that you may not want to go that far but anyway). I did not change out my head unit, but I had them hook up my amp and subs about 3 years ago. All is well with it still at this point. They seemed really knowlegdeable and all of them seemed to know what they are doing. I don't know why things would be different between these 2 locations but I have had good results. But just check around and be patient so that you can find the best place to go.

Run what? I want to play! I just installed new NGK spark plugs and cleaned all the build up carbon in my TB. My car is running pretty strong as well as smooth.

BTW, my car is also going to the paint shop next Tues. to fix my front bumper. I should have it done by the Memorial Day show.

No need to feel left out. I'm only correcting the little accident to my bumper. I just want my car to be as good as it was before. Besides, your car looks good with those wheels.

I've really been wanting to run against a 3G TL-S to see if I can keep up. Last time I dynoed I was at 242 fwhp which is about 305 crank hp considering an 18% drivetrain loss, so I am curious. You're welcome to join in if we can ever get Mike or Lee to partake in the fun. They both said they would, we just haven't had good timing.

What kind of grounding kit do you have and did you notice any difference with it?

I wouldn't be surprised if you take me.. 305 at the crank gives you roughly 20 extra ponies .
Plus you do have to factor in the weight.. -yes my fat a$$ plus the audio system.. which came out very nice BTW. (the audio system.. not my a$$)
I still have some minor tweaking to do and some fabric matching issues but the construction looks great.
My car gets all the mods (except for the exhaust) installed on Saturday. Doesn't leave much time for us to line up, but if we can make it work I am still game.

Damn Faiz.. that sucks! How bad is the dent???
Don't sweat it though.. we will position your car with the best side showing.

For those who were asking.. Here are some shots of the sound system.

There is a pop-out panel that covers the plexiglass for everyday traveling so the trunk (and entire system) has a clean, stock look until you pop the panel. I would have snapped more photos, but it was raining.. sorry.

BTW.. if anyone is interested in a single JL 10w6 in a custom slot ported enclosure and custom panel/fake wall for the TL to cover it let me know.

(Off topic) Ok gents, maybe one of you can help me find the source for this: My father just bought a brand new '08 Jeep Compass for my sister. The Compass came with two 10" Kicker "L" series (you know, the square subs) in a sealed box. The weird thing is that it was like a factory option. BUT, I can't find that option mentioned ANYWHERE. This wasnt even on the invoice sheet so the salesman just let them have it. It was all connected with factory-like connections. ALSO, each sub had its own, dedicated amplifier. I want to say that Kicker made this especially for Jeep or the Compass because none of the equipment has any type of power rating markings.

Just to let you guys get first dibs, I'm planning on selling my stock wheels and tires. I wanted to sell them locally; shipping is a PITA! If anyone's interested, let me know before I put them on the Black Market forum.

Ballin...the grounding kit is homemade. I just got some 4 gauge wire and replaced everything that was coming from the negative terminal. It was really easy and way cheaper. I had some LED terminal that showed the voltage of the battery, but took them off b/c I wasn't sure if they were the cause of some issues I was having. They weren't but I haven't put them back on yet.

Mike and Lee...whenever you guys are up for it. And even if you have your stuff on already Mike, I'd still be willing to give it a shot.

Parth...no way in hell!!! I don't think any of us could touch you on that road. A4>TL in handling any day...even stock. Now 1/4 mile may be a different story but I'm not sure, as long as it's not the A4 3.0T

Hey guys.. I forgot to tell you guys that the AcurazineVA.com web address is active. For now it just automatically redirects to this thread but it will get better as time progresses.
This should help when we are spreading the word to local peeps about our azine community.

I have some cool surprises set for the Memorial Day Car Show. For those who are planning to attend, let me know if you are interested in any AcurazineVA shirts and I will have them on hand at the show. Be sure to PM me how many you want and your sizes ASAP or I won't be able to make it happen.. My wife agreed to provide them at cost for this event, so price will be kept to an absolute minimum.
