There is a really good Chinese Place in Green Hills. It is the upscale section of Nashville. It is a little al a carte hole in the wall, but damn it is good. It was actually rated the #1 Chinese Rest in the US by citysearch in 2003. I do not think this is acurate, as I have had better in NYC, but it is good.

Soopa - Black Bean sauce.....Cook the beans as directed. strain juice and keep it to the side. Put beans in a food proc. Add juice as needed to desired consistency. Season with what you like..... This is just a guess. This is how I would begin to try and make one.

They are building a PF Changs next to the hotel we are staying at and my wife tells me how pissed she is because we are leaving....I look at her and say that people will slap you if they heard you say that because London is known for good Chinese food.....PF Changs is pretty damn good though...

I LOVE PF Changes. Best "Chinese" I've ever had (fully acknowledging it's anything but authentic).

I had no idea London was known for Chinese-food. That's *insert wacky British word for crazy*.

Why?

I wish I knew....I didn't know either until I went there last time....Everyone told me (Londoners and Americans) that London had the best Chinese food outside of China (also good Indian food)....Maybe they are just bloody wankers?

The trick to finding a good ethnic restaurant is to walk by at peak hour and see how many people of the given nationality are actually eating in the joint.

If you find an Indian restaurant with a bunch of desi's in it, that restaurant may satisfy your spiciness requirement.

Jesal takes me to this great Indian restaurant, and I'm usually one of the only white/semi-white people in it

I forgot to post about Tuesday night......

It was our 3 year anniversary so we went out. We drive by and debated several spots and ended up at the ole stand by---Ruths' Chris. It was very consistent and delicious.

We split the lettuce wedge. She had italian and I had blue cheese.
We both had petite filets, I added the garlic shrimp
We split the shoestrings and creamed spinach

They gave us a choc mousse dessert. It was very rich and thick for mousse. Not the best.....

We got out with a 20% tip for 91.00

All i remember is that it was one of the best dishes i ever had. Totally need to figure out where it was.

London in general had some great food. I miss it!

I seem to always find a chinese place i like though. Each one is different so it never gets boring to me.

Also i had General Tso Chicken last night at a new place that just opened up. Great food but the service sucked.

I have to admit, I've only been once, and it was in Indianapolis. I did really like it... but maybe my experience was an exception.

He shared the wedge, that's gotta be at least $8. Also, they probably didn't order anything from the wine menu.

Don't quote me on prices.....this is from memory

2 waters - free
No alcohol - we do not drink
lettuce wedge - 5
2 filets - 27 each
shoestrings - 5
Shrimp - 7

= 71 x 9.25% = 6.56 tax
= 71 x 20% = 14.20 tip

= 91.76 Close enough......

One point....it is not that we were trying to be cheap. This is just what we like

Warmed up leftover pizza tonight. I like to have at least a couple nights a week where dinner doesn't require any effort.

The pizza is deep dish with pesto sauce, slivered almonds, roasted red bell peppers, roasted garlic & romano cheese.

Anyone ever bake a pork chop? I want to bake it so I can make a gravy afterwards

The pieces are about 1/3 lb. I'm thinking like 325 for 1 1/4 hours. Try to get them a little tender.

I had chicken and rice from the chicken and rice man in the city.

It's the chicken used for gyros on top of yellow rice and doused in hot sauce. It was soooo worth the 1/2 hour wait.

Last night was a nice big Sirloin cooked up on the BBQ (medium) with some veggies on the side.

No idea what I had tonight LOL.

Tomorrow night - pork chops (dunno what I will have with them).

IKEA food is pretty damn good and cheap. At the IKEA here in Covina, California they have a buy one get one free entree deal. Their meatballs are incredible.

5.99 for 40 Meatballs w/ broiled red potatoes and a drink

Installed front springs in my buddy's tC last night, we were tired and it was dark so we haven't done the fronts. Being that we were tired, we went to Popeye's and just got some spicy fried chicken and biscuits
