It will not work in online games. It can't, obviously. If you do turn the console off during an online game, the game will kick you out of the lobby and return you to a menu screen.
This feature has been on the Xbox One since launch.
If say you wanted to pause your single player game and have to leave, ect., you'd simply turn off the console. When you come back and power it up, it will instantly resume where you left off. No waiting for loading screens or anything like that.
I also find it useful for boot up times. From a cold start, the Xbox One takes about 30 seconds or so to fully boot, with the sleep feature on, it comes on in about 5.

He has two kids so the ability to pause his game has excited him. He doesnt seem to be listening when I tell him it is frankly impossible to pause an on-line game. Either he doesnt see the logic or just isnt caring to listen to what Im saying.

Bumpity bump. BF is near and my trigger finger is getting really itchy. Anybody get any of the newer units like the Taken King, Batman, or pre-order Star Wars. Why didn't they launch the red MGS one here

I haven't been using mine much at all - only been playing MKX and some Ghosts sometimes - Project Cars is good too but I haven't been playing much. Also been super selective what games to buy - the next games I will get are Battlefront, the new Doom, and MAYBE the new Need for Speed

Only via online purchase. I don't think they offer PS3 "classic" games for PS4 yet. Sony wants you to have both current gen and last gen. I'm keeping my PS3 for more years because most of my kids' games are on that system.

Got one Friday night! Target had either the TLOU or Uncharted bundles for $350 plus a $50 gift card. $300 was pretty much my range. I chose TLOU because I literally just played through the 3 Uncharted games over the summer and I hear it's not much of a refresh though I'd strongly recommend these. Plus I haven't played TLOU yet. The reason why I jumped in ASAP instead of waiting also was because Target had a promotion where you pre-order certain games for $1 down (you don't have to pay anymore for that game) you get 25% off ANY other game except the Uncharted trilogy. Well apparently the $250 Rock Band 4 kit qualified so I got that for $187.50 and used the GC to pay for it.

I put down a $50 deposit on the LIMITED Star Wars edition before this announcement, and was annoyed because I thought that it meant I'd be paying the old price upon picking up the package on release date... but the other day I went to go pay the balance, it was actually lower than I was expecting. I think it was by $100 (CAD)
