Although Sony has announced backwards comp. for PS5, no guarantee it'll work properly at launch. Go all in on PS4 since the games are so cheap.

The nice thing about Sony is that they encourage hard drive swapping. They make it super easy to do so.
But understandable why they didnt include it originally, SSD drives were way more expensive back in 2013
The "Pro" should've came with one. 500GB-1TB SSDs were fairly reasonably priced in 2016.

That said, once i can get a good deal on a 1TB SSD, I'm swapping my drive.

The load times are pleasantly reduced. Not like blazing fast as it is a hybrid drive - but it does the job well and at a good price.

So I haven't played console games regularly for YEARS now. Have an old PS3 collecting dust and some games there but friend suggested Persona 5 Royal and highly recommends getting a PS4 Pro and that game.

Very tempted but looks like on Amazon most PS4 Pros are in the basically $400 range, wtf. $400 for a 4 year old system that's on a 7 year old platform now. I'm sure with everyone locked in their homes the sellers and Amazon are cashing in. I see on amazon price tracking sites that the PS4 have basically gone up in price in recent weeks. Ugh. Hate to do used with CL/eBay with some of the horror stories....

Bite the bullet and get PS4 Pro now or wait for PS5 that supposedily will launch in holiday season later this year for probably just ~$150-200 more than a $400 system that's essentially a 7-year old platform now?.....
