Well you'd think with all the obscure bullshit JDM Yaris variations they managed to put in the game, they could have put at least one Genesis...

I'm just bitter they don't have an Audi RS5.

My wife was looking at the bills today and she says "how come our power bill is so high for last month?" I didn't want to get into explaining "B-Spec grinding" so I just shrugged.

You guys might already know about this, but for those who don't, you can download a Camaro SS for free, and here's how you can get it:

From GTPlanet (http://www.gtplanet.net/forum/showthread.php?t=193475)

1. Go to Edge® Shave Gel website (http://edgeshave.com/default.aspx#!/ps3Giveaway)

2. Fill out your info

**For Mexico and Canada Residents: Use a fake American Address to still get the code (Example- You can slam the keyboard for all of the slots and just make the state "CA" and the Zip Code "90210" and it will still work).**

(Thanks to BigMackAttack from GTPlanet for the info)

3. Enter 841058005209 as your code. (If code becomes unusable enter 841058005261)

Enjoy!

(From the GTPlanet Forums here)

So whats the difference between the Camero SS you get for free and the Camero SS in the game you buy?

I have never driven the regular Camaro SS, but the Edge version has 427hp, I believe the regular one is at 412hp?

I just compared the LF-A to 458 in game, the 458 is a hell of a lot more fun to drive.

jammed a dime in it. worked like a charm, no problems. I'm officially relieved of all the frustration I experienced from this game.

hahaha.... you know I *think* you can do it by taping the X button down? I haven't tried it tho.

btw the LF-A revs much faster than it does in the game...

X2, especially after you've tuned both to their max. The 458 is just more pure sports car than the LF-A.

Yeah I heard this too. Change the gas input to trigger then tape down the X button if you don't have a USB keyboard

These are also my two favorite cars in the game.

I don't know how hard core you guys are, but my exercise for the past few sessions was to get the best possible Nordschleife time on these two cars, completely stock with stock tires, and see which one is faster. I'm using the Logitech Formula Force GT, with settings:
- TC: 0
- ABS: 1 (On this wheel brakes lock right away if you turn this off)
- Everything OFF
- Skid recovery: Real (important, this basically means you're dead if you go off track).
- Damage: OFF (I don't bother since if you crash, you lost anyway)
I'll have to confirm when I get home.

I think I'm around 7:36 on the LFA and 7:38 on the 458, but I have yet to finish a really good lap on the 458. I'm pretty sure it can beat the LFA though since it seems slightly faster in a straight line but it's more skittish in the corners.

I also used the Audi R8 V10 as a baseline, I think I'm in the 7:40s range. It's a slower car but again easier to drive. For all of these cars I bought a second copy just to keep it completely stock for driving around the 'ring.

It would be fun if a few of us tried this and then compared times. Is it possible to share timed lap replays with friends?

uhm are you using Sports: Hard? kinda sucks, it feels like the car is floating. the real car would not behave like this, I am certain! how about using a realistic feeling setup? I am thinking it would be like Sports, Soft or Medium

Practice, time trial. Yea I use sports hard, that's the default. I know it's hard but I just want to keep whatever comes with the car. It's very difficult at high speeds but that's part of the fun.

So I drove the LFA and 458 back to back. The LFA seems to have more power at low speeds, but high speeds the 458 takes over, it seems to corner better when going fast. I like the gearing on the LFA better, the 458's first gear is useless, at least on the ring. At high speed it's real hard to keep the LFA on the track though.

7:36 was my best on the LFA.

I'll give it a try when I get home! I also did some runs on some other cars such as the NSX-R, GTR 2007, etc. I will get those times posted too.

Here are my times:

458: 7:20.509
GT-R 07: 7:22.654
LFA: 7:25.870
NSX-R 02: 7:49.278
CL-S 6MT: 8:31.843
Civic Type R 08: 8:34.307
Odyssey: 9:32.078
Yaris RS 1.5 07: 9:45.462

Don't ask me why I drove the Odyssey and Yaris.......lol...

I can't do a perfect lap for any of the car..I always screw up somewhere...

Settings:
Racing line on
TC 0
ABS 1
Everythig else off
SFR off
Grip Reduction real
Damage none (if you crash, you won't get a good time anyway...)
Tires: Default (so sport hard for NSX-R, GTR, 458, LFA, comfort soft (or medium?) for the rest

No mods, everything stock.

Comments: I think the LFA is a bitch to drive...may be because this was my first time driving it...or may be I just suck....or may be both...it's hard to keep it from sliding...gotta be REALLY smooth with the steering, brake, and throttle. 458 isn't much better, but I do feel that it has slightly more grip. The downforce on the 458 is certainly more than the LFA as it feels more stable at higher speeds. NSX-R is still the most fun to drive of the bunch. GTR doesn't feel that fast...it feels slower than the LFA and 458..but in reality, the GTR is actually faster than the LFA.

I could actually drive the LF-A on stock hard using the controller, it felt pretty good. but still it was difficult to do a clean lap. I am guessing this application is easier with a wheel - are you all using wheels?

I use the G27 wheel. For me, it's easier to use the wheel. May be it's just me, but I do think you can get better times with a wheel. You can make small changes easier.

We need to get more people involved here!
