GT5 on PS3 in 2007?

Reports out of Europe put Gran Turismo 5 on PS3 in 2007.

August 23, 2005 - "100 times more detailed," says Kaz Yamauchi about his Gran Turismo 5 to Croatian car magazine, Auto Klub. This information reported by way of Game Industry.biz.


According to Game Industry, Auto Klub scored an impromptu interview with Kaz. In it, Kaz stated that he hoped Gran Turismo 5 would be completed in 2007 and that it would indeed be 100 times more detailed than its PS2 predecessor, but we're left to speculate in what way.
Sony could not confirm the report, however. The company line is, "We haven't released any new official information regarding Gran Turismo 5 or PS3."

We're hoping to learn more at this year's Tokyo Games Show later this month. Please check back then.

2007? Good, I'm not even at 50% on GT4 yet.

That game will be made when the PS4 is about to drop. What i dont understand is how Microsoft can put out a racing game that's biting on the heals of gran tursimo in way less time. If MS gets out forza for the 360 before GT5 comes out, then Sony will loose a lot of sales. Gran Turismo 3 sold a lot of PS2's back in the day. GT4 just pissed people off. There were so many push backs, and delays. But for what, the game has so many glitches and bugs it pisses me off. I love the GT series, but i hate when a new one is announced because i know that it will be quite a few years before i can play it.

What glitches and bugs are you refering to?

the only real bug of GT4 is the stuttering screen thing at the start of the races when you have 6 cars on screen... there are some other "quirks" too... but not so much that it turns ppl away from it - at least the ppl that know how to drive :thumbsup:

I have mastered line racing and have been drifting since GT2, i know my way around the game. Sometimes the game freezes between loading screens and i have to restart. And also everytime i go to race a certain 350 z on midfield raceway, the game freezes at the start of the race. Go to GTplanet, you will see tons of bugs that people have found.

The game has NEVER frozen on me. I mean zero, zilch. I have left it running for days and put in countless hours. I suspect a hardware issue - not software.

Microsoft can put out Forza quicker because they don't care as much about the accuracy of the car models. Don't make me post examples. :)

I have left it on for days as well with my driver taking care of endurance races. But i am not the only one that has had the game crash. Check the forums and you will get examples of bugs that you can recreate. Now i dont go looking for bugs, but when i set my ride heigh on my z to a certain number and the game freezes, then there is something wrong.

Post some, i am curious as to what models they messed up. But, the point i am trying to make is that forza is no GT4, but it's still enjoyable and was made in way less time. I just dont understand why the GT series takes so long. I get the whole attention to detail thing, but it shouldnt take polyphony as long as it does. C'mon man, you didnt get pissed off the 100th time they delayed the freaking game?

I brought GT4 to my parents house and both my brothers copy and mine freeze on his new slim ps2 as well. my ps2 is a year old

I found by switching to teh HD setting gets rid of that (of course i havea HD tv so i can switch)

I don't mind to wait, so they have enough time to put newer cars like the next GT-R, NSX and Supra into the game.
