Awesome PGR3 vid...Vegas look very realistic.

 

awesome scenery and motion.. doesn't look erratic.. sound is great... wish they would have spent a little more time on the car model, though.

 

I still think some of the games look a little choppy at times. I have seen a few near final Perfect dark videos both on TV and on the computer and they still seem choppy, like the framrate cant stay put.

 

Where can i go to keep me updated with news on the 360 and games and futre plans? It seems as if u guys are experts or got insider points. lol..

i ordered mine,. perfect dark zero is all that. And ghost recon also. cant wait.

this is a good thing for PC controllers... I'm hard pressed to find any PC controller I really like... if the reviews of the 360 controller are any indication, this should be a good option for PC use.

Question on these MILLION or more consoles being shipped.

This doesn have anything to do with the quantity a retailer will get correct?

For example, I was VERY surprised that at my local EB store, i am only #48 on the list. While in other EB stores in more populated areas like malls, have hundreds on list. I guess maybe lucky that my local EB store is new and not alot of people know its there.
But back to my question. The guy there told me, that he thought that this particular store will get only 20 to 22 consoles on teh first shipement. And didnt know if it was mixed between core version or full console. Which kinds makes me want to go back and make sure to put me down for the 400.00 one. Which i didnt even think at the time (stupid me) I just put a 50.00 down to hold one but wasnt asked which one. But there you go, i am #48 and they say they only get 20 to 22 on release date. HOW SOON TILL NEXT SHIPMENT FROM MICROSOFT? hmmmmm. anyone know?

and also... I heard that BEST buys and other BIG retail stores like kmarts, circuit cities will be first come first serve? This true? Think there might be lines that day outside?

I don't understand the desire to be the first person to get this, or any system. You really have to have it within hours of the release? Just wait a few days or a week and you won't have to worry about lines or lists.

 

no no.. i didnt mean it that way. I am just wondering. When earlier in this thread they stated that millions were going to be sent out. And by what the EBgames personell told me, that on their first shipment they will only get 20 or so. I was wondering if these stores were scheduled to get shipments every week or what. Becuase they told me that i would get mine before christmas. And i am kool with that. I am not going to wait in lines. I am just going to go and ask, if they do well i get it and cancel in eb. but if not well there is no "I NEED AT RELEASE". lol.

I was just wondering if someone knew how shipments are going to work with stores.

If you go to Walmart, Best Buy, EB Games, etc. they have Xbox 360 kiosks there. The demo disk allows you to play COD2 and Kameo and has a ton of videos of games. The controller is awesome - best console controller I have ever felt and the graphics of the games look even better in person. It's definitely worth checking out

 

looks like Microsoft is really pulling a fast one on Sony with the 360... I think it's gonna be hard for Sony to catch up.

The PS3 will be an awesome system with awesome games. I expect it will be the sales leader next gen as well, but MS did pull a rabbit out of their hat by creating a powerful next-gen system, releasing it significantly earlier than their compeition and the first ever simultaneous multi-region console launch (NA, Europe & Japan release a few days apart). It will be a lead that will take Sony a lot of work to surpass

Hmmm, just XBOX Live-iiingggggggggggggg. lol.. dont have friends with xbox, locally. So maybe with about 2 or 3. Doing Need for Speed, most wanted.

 

I'm pretty pissed. Supply for the 360 is going to be VERY low this holiday season. I pre-ordered my 360 back in May, and I just found out I got bumped out of the first shipment. My store is the second largest EB in CT, and they originally had estimates of 70 systems at launch day, which kept getting whittled down now finally only to 20. I'm # 21 on the list

The store alone has 210 pre-orders.

Okay, so the word is that basically on launch day, expect stores like Best Buy to have around 50 Xbox 360s each, most of which are the $399 flavor (thanks Lordservant). That's not very many, so camping in line won't help very much since there are so few to go around. I'd guess other super stores will be in the same boat who don't take pre-orders.

Stores like EB/Gamestops are going to be sold out already scrounging just to meet their guaranteed pre-orders. I'd be shocked if even those crazy multi-thousand dollar overpriced bundles ship on time.

In theory I like the idea of a world-wide release, but with inventory stretched so thin, the only global thing we'll have in common is that no one will able to find a 360.

One think i didnt like or maybe good for me (with NOO guarantee) is that they guy said (manager at store) " Is yours paid in full?" If you have it paid in full with couple of games, you will INCREASE your chances. "I am giving a priority to those who have the biggest bundles paid in full"

he said "At this time i got 6 Paid in full systems" Wondering if i should. Or just go that day to best buys, walmarts and circuit cities..

This sucks because if you get on a list, then you should be priority u know. So i imagine for fact they will call the first 5 from the list and the rest the ones tha t{PAID in full, to cover their backs!! fu--ers...

That is BS. Their policy is to give out systems to the order of their lists. There should be some corporate number that you can complain to about this.

 

The big retailers (Target, WalMart, Best Buy, etc..) don't do pre-orders. They sell at the store, but they won't be getting large volumes of systems either. Many stores will be open at midnight selling the systems, but unless you want to camp out, your chances of snagging a system may be slim

If you want to try to get ahead, it may be worth it, but they shouldn't let it happen. I'm personally just staying in my place. If you feel like they are screwing you by placing you lower on the list call corporate, otherwise leave it be IMO

 

It is funny you brought this up... The day Socom 3 was released and I called EB games... the manager told me if I come in, trade up my X-box, buy a PS2 slim, memory card and headset, He WOULD have a copy of Socom 3 waiting for me... Now I know there were people on a waiting list to get that game... I feel I took somebodies copy and they got bumped until the next shipment comes in...

.... but then again.. I did not see a real shortage of Socom 3 in any store since Target was selling it for $40.00 2 days after the release of the game..

I believe the gaming industry does just that... plays games.... the rumor of shortages is just a hype to make people lust the gaming system even more .. everyone wants to have something that no one else has... it is the American way.

The hype is true.. Just talked to the EB Games and they cut shipments in half basically.. I assume they are afraid they can't meet targets.. I'm now on the 2nd list..
