I played about 2 hours tonight. Had a lot of fun. A few wins too (FFA). Run and gun was working very well. RC car is actually a pretty quick +1 kill if you use it well. I tried the Valkyrie, it kinda sucks. Redeemer had a much better feel lol. It's nice you get two though. And when it explodes, you get the same sound as a grenade. poop.

 

6 people or + is having major issues for some reason...

there is about 7 or 8 of us that would like to play but after we all join up in a room, it either kicks a few people out of the party when we join, or none of us get into a game...

we've gotten lucky a few times with 6...

5 or less works fine.

 

Agreed, played Dead Ops for a couple hours last night, loved the nostalgic feeling

 

I played for a couple of hours yesterday. Its laggy for me online, so that is very annoying. I really hope it goes away...

Dead ops is fun.

 

I still suck online compared to these 13 year olds, but I still have a TON of fun playing with my buddies - I think the shit talking is more fun than the game itself. haha.

These server issues are killing me. I went 11-1 with the help of the attack helicopter in the first 3 minutes of a match and the server crashes. Then the other day I went 16-4 in a match and the match had ended and the server crashed and didnt count the match. I know it didnt count it because during the match I had leveled up to 13 but after the server crashed and I tried to start another game it showed me at level 12 still. Ughhhh!

 

bleh. this happened in MW2, too.

ok just played Combat training last night, and lets just say I planned to go to bed at 11:30 pm, but ended up going to bed around 3 am. I didn't think it would be fun being that I was playing against the CPU and all, but it was surprisingly fun and good way to play online maps without all of the lag; and its good to try out all of the kill streaks to see how they work. I remember in my first game online I ended up getting a Valkyrie from a care package but had no idea how to use it so I ended up blowing myself up. I'm hoping to get a chance to try out all the kill streaks before I have to take the game back.

I really hate the online lag, but at least combat training is a chance to at least simulate online play.

 

If you want to get technical, from the videos I've seen of him SeaNanners is someone who is really good at staying alive. Good commentary with tips on how to play. He goes without a single death in FFA then 36-1 in TDM

I think its too early to say but the killstreaks might be a little OP. Right now nobody probably has the anti-air weapons or killstreaks just yet, or the perk that makes you undetectable by air support (is that still around?)

 

I don't think the killstreaks are OP just because it's pretty rare to see the higher ones. The attack chopper comes once or twice a game, which is kind of a lot, but the chopper gunner and dogs are rare and ive only seen one gunship

 

yeah I think the killstreaks are fine.. ive never even seen attack dogs - I got them once in a CP and I let em loose but then the game ended.

Yeah, i figured as such. With no more stacking kill streaks the higher ones will be rare. I think I've only seen one Hiend on multi-player so far.

If they fix the lag issues and I decide to get this game, the no more stacking kill streaks will affect my game because on MW2 I depended on the predator and then harrier to get my CG or AC 130 and I think there were only a couple of times I got those without using my harrier.

I'm fine with that though, it forces players to get out and fight instead of letting their kill streaks do all the work.

The highest kill streak I've gotten in an actual game so far is 6 a few times. But in Combat training I've gotten them all (on recruit of course), and I must admit the attack dogs kill streak is funny.

yes you can shoot the RC car - its tricky though because of its speed but Ive done it before.

 

Did they mean it the other way around? Because Treyarch made Black Ops and Infinity Ward made MW2

So I've decided I love this game. It feels different but not too different.

My only major qualm is the spawn points, they're sort of bittersweet, they let you get revenge sometimes but they also can get you killed over and over.

Right now for an AR I'm using either the FAMAS or M-16 with reflex sight and suppressor.

For something in tight quarters I use the AK74u with suppressor, and extended mags.

Imo the FAMAS and AK74 are the best guns in the game. You have to get used to the recoil on the FAMAS, but once you get it, it's something else.

oh, almost forgot.... I dont really see much lag, what I do see is sometimes a very long wait on finding a lobby and I almost exclusively play FFA

 

nice rundown. I haven't had an issue with lag either. If I did, I wouldn't play. I mean, that is like the most frustrating thing. My most lethal combo so far has been M16 + RPG. I've enjoyed playing with the decoy - its a lot of fun when you can trick someone with it (you throw it like a grenade and it pops around, making firing noises - it does it for a good duration of time). But, this is kind of a 'waste' of time, in regard to scoring. I need to use the FAMAS some more, I did enjoy it when I did.

This game has a very 'real' feeling - I mean in many of the maps you feel like you are really there and it heightens the experience greatly.

 

I don't see much lag.. Getting parties larger than 4 into a game is a nightmare though..

 

The gameplay is growing on me. There are still significant issues with the multi-player interface. I'm constantly getting kicked out of game lobbies while the person/people I'm in party with are not. Same goes for them... they're kicked often too. That seems like something that could be fixed (unlike the lack-luster graphics and sound).

I spent quite a few hours playing this weekend. It's a good game.

 

While I generally play in groups of 4-7 with buddies from an old job, I'm finding the game VERY good.

But the camping is getting a bit much for me

 

when we play in large groups... we usually have 1-2 people that are thrown on the other team b/c we have too many for one team.

if a person on the other team is essentially staying in one spot the entire game, the odd men out usually alert us on their location(we really dont care who wins and loses).

we are only playing for fun. campers ruin the fun, and campers will not be tolerated

i dont mind being sniped in the forehead, but if you are sitting on top of a box in the corner of a room crouching with your assualt rifle... you deserve it lol.

 

I'm the kind of guy who'd rather find a nice quiet place and pick people off. May be why I really don't like MP. I don't get running around like you're Lindsey Lohan after finding some blow.

 

I don't mind finding a stealthy spot to camp for a bit, get a few fun kills, then move on. Actually I don't really understand why people don't like campers. It's a fucking game, who cares if there are people sitting in spots waiting to kill you? That's kind of the point, isn't it? It's just another type of play. Run n' gunners are equally annoying, IMO. If you can do a balance of both kinds of play, I think you are OK. If you camp for the entire game, yeah that is a bit dumb (and you will likely lose).

 

this is what we consider to be a "camper".

the whole idea is to move from place to place on the map looking for players. while also hiding from sight.

if everyone sat and waited.. nobody would die.
