yeah I only got claymore the other day. I need to use it. I had some fun time with the decoy at nuketown last night, had 3 kills from 1, its so funny when people come by and then you shoot em. haha

I guess it's an experience thing. FPS has been one game genre I've played mainly for a long, long, long time, I just kind of notice things I guess. Strategy can only come with time, I think if you threw me into S&D I'd get wrecked since I never play it.

Kind of like driving.... you still check your mirrors and over your shoulders but you notice things out of the corner of your eye. I definitely didn't start out that way when I first started driving. I spot the silhouettes of police cars way down the road faster than most people do though...

Can't say I haven't run past an enemy on the same staircase as me though. the Broadcast map on COD4 comes to mind. Typically in real life you look down as you descend stairs but in video games it seems like that instinct isn't there

yeah claymores FTW. I love putting them around the corner of just any random doorway.... a HUGE no-no I always see people doing though is putting a claymore in one doorway, then going through the same way where opponents would come from. It always makes me scratch my head. Your claymore is basically useless that way, unless you're lone wolfing it over on the enemy's spawn side.

I see people do it at the beginning of a game.... nobody is going to come from behind, if you die your claymore disappears. And chances are anyone going towards your claymore is going to run into you on the way. Find a route that none of your team is taking, plant it, then turn around and take another route. I think Seananners did it in one of those videos I posted.

i've only escaped 3 or 4... i was able to evade many more in MW2.. which is a good and bad thing i guess.

i never put them in doorways... i stick them on the side of obastacles... crates, buildings, stairs...

people expect them in doors.

I think it all depends on how good your team is. I usually only play team death match with friends and we're decent enough to not die most the time in the very beginning. Planting near your own spawn is good for us cause we usually reach the map's middle and kill the opponents from there. With the spawn system of Black Ops, we know that more than likely the enemy will spawn behind us, so our claymores pretty much act as spy planes letting us know they spawned behind us.

Not to mention the red lines coming out of it aren't as bright or noticeable. They're almost impossible to spot, which is good and bad

I like em this way, I think they were too 'easy' in MW2.

Ok, so I played for a couple of hours, rotating in and out with my friend on PS3

Shotguns got nerfed BAD wouldn't be so bad but they're primaries now. I didn't get to try the pump shotgun but the Olympia is like the nerfed single 1887. The balance of weapons, of the ones I tried seems a lot better. ARs (FAMAS, AK) aren't as stupid powerful anymore at any range and actually have recoil, SMGs (MPL, MP5) are not that good for medium range. The crossbow is pretty damn hard to use, especially in regular core FFA. Knifing isn't as stupid easy as it was in MW2, and aim assist seems cranked down or non-existent. All in all, I appreciate the higher difficulty. No more knifing the air and getting a kill.

I like the game. It seems fun, though not as much as MW2. Maybe its cause I don't know what's going on completely yet. Got noobtubed a few times though, I was host but there still was apparent lag.

Spawn points...... are fucking god awful. Nuketown shouldn't be as bad as it was with 4 people but sometimes I'd spawn in the backyard and another guy would spawn in the same backyard, like 7 feet away from me, no barriers in the way or anything. Much more action packed, but I found myself in a crossfire much more than usual. It could be that I don't know the maps, but I stayed near or around the edges.

I was playing FFA only and almost everyone camped in Nuketown, whether it was standing in the corner of the garage or looking out a window or hiding in the garden. I don't think the spawn points help, I found myself putting claymores behind me for once.

Didn't get to try zombies... definitely will next time.

What do you guys think about kills from killstreaks not counting towards your killstreak?

The non-stackable killstreaks is a good thing IMO. No just sitting there, calling in a harrier, then using a chopper gunner (or gunship?) in a corner and steamrolling everyone. Didn't get a great look at killstreaks, but I'd guess there's no more nuke. Still a good thing either way.

I saw a video of some guy getting a nuke with just an M9 in MW2 a while back.... but all he basically did was get a 7-kill streak, heh

Gunship is the highest killstreak reward at 11 kills.

yea thats good.

sounds reasonably attainable.

now if MW2 had unstackable kill streaks, no way someone would ever get the nuke.

btw, i just had a GREAT zombies session.

people that actually knew how to play. ended up getting to stage 24.
only reason we died was cause they had to go, and we were all running out of ammo.

someone let attack dogs loose last night at WMD. damn that is awesome. It was the first time I saw them in action. you can kill them (and I killed 2) but still I got killed by that same killstreak, twice. and they look and sound cool as hell. intimidating sound, I think thats why they get so many kills with it. the dude who used it steamrolled over us to win.

So has anyone tried playing this on a 3D TV? I was thinking of getting a 3D TV for Christmas but wasnt sure how the game would be. Ive got it for PS3 and Xbox. Anyone wants to add me I play almost every night. Gamer tag is EAMotorsports on both systems.

so im on level 40 on zombies in "five"

doing it myself.

found a neat glitch that you can climb above the tables in the first room, the zombies cant get to you. so i just leave one zombie alive and run to the mystery box and get some good guns and stuff.

what sucks right now is that im out of ammo.
but what is weird is that the zombies are dying by themselves (probably from starvation?)
wonder if i should leave it on all night and see what level i get to

Not sure. I think there is one for unlocking the maps.

It's also weird how they started dying by themselves.

They weren't doing it in earlier levels, which allowed me to run all the way downstairs and find the mystery box

i think thats pretty realistic. zombies dont just keep walking eternally, they do run out of steam eventually. sounds like they factored in a randomizer for that characteristic.

Yea, but then it should be at all levels. I remember keeping a guy alive for like 20 minutes while I ran around getting guns and ammo and unlocking stuff.

By level 37, they were all dying off by themselves and it would take about 20 minutes for all of them to die off

There's a few achievements in zombie mode, but none of them involve how long you survive.
1. Revive a teammate with the pack-a-punch ballistic knife.
2. Shoot or be shot by a teammate with a pack-a-punch crossbow and then kill 6 zombies when the bow blows up.
3. Kill the pentagon thief (its on the "Five" map)
4. Buy every weapon off the wall in a map, which includes grenades, claymores, etc.

I played it on my 3d tv. It's pretty cool, it basically brings everything in closer. I haven't tried it on campaign mode which might be a little more impressive.
