Believe me, spend an hour in the Rivals section and you'll have over 1m credits. Ive got ~7m credits right now and my garage is worth 49m credits last I checked.
Wow, I have been sleeping on this game and this thread. I like that you guys are having competitions through that Rivals features or whatever. I think I'll dust off the old 360 and give it a go. Hardly have time these days but I'll try and give it a go, sounds like good fun.
I hope my hard drive survives as well, I have a launch 360 that was repaired (probably not the same one, same HDD though)

I have a lot of catching up to do.... looks like some of you guys are really good. I got used to driving without aids on previous Forzas but IIRC I still clung onto ABS and never could wrap my head around using the clutch for a manual.
In real life I can do a quick double-clutch rev-match, skipping down a few gears but when it comes to using a single button in Forza, it seemed daunting
Maybe I'll pick this up tomorrow and get back into the racing genre for a bit. think I gotta renew my XBL subscription too

Be Honest. How many miatas do you have?
I'll also add this, here is my H1 in it's obvious natural habitat.

my gosh the Radical SR8 at the Ring is SO FUN. I am trying to take down a certain time... and just having a ball trying. I'm never this enthused about driving any car anywhere in GT5... it's the combination of the visceral seat-of-the-pants driving feeling, the sound of the car, and the dynamic of the scenery that all comes together to make it something I want to continue doing.
I was playing some GT5 earlier today and the sound of the cars was downright bugging me. I mean I took a SARD Supra out and it just sounded like ass. I didn't drive it for very long just because I didn't have any desire to. Give me a real race car sound and I'll feel like driving. Not a whizzing sputtering blender sounding thing.

yeah, the whining sound.
the other HUGE bonus over GT5, imo, is the ! lap designation. I mean, that's the way to handle the bickering over whether something was a clean lap, that we have seen in racing threads before. Did Forza 3 have that? It seems like such an obvious solution, just let the game keep track of whether its a clean lap or not. And, it heightens the experience, because it makes you consciously try to do a good lap. I mean, sure there are shortcut penalties in GT5 but it doesn't track the entire lap the way the ! does.

Yep, FM3 had it.
FM2 didn't have it but rather the time that you earned as a penalty (hitting other cars, hitting walls, going off track, etc) was added to your lap time. So if you ran a lap that was 1:00.00 but got 5 seconds of penalty time, your time would be 1:05.00.

I think there were some strange places like the end of the straight at Atlanta where the penalty wasn't enough. Or perhaps that was fm1. I also forget when they added the off track moon physics where they take away traction from your driving tires and slow down the front of the car. That can be amazingly annoying when you get knocked off in an online race.
Two small things that do bother me that GT does much better though. Tire smoke and replay cameras.

Yea, it would be nice to do a monstrous burnout and have billows of smoke pouring out.. Instead we have a little cloud of tire smoke.
I also wish it were possible to put two different types of tires on the car. Like drag radials on the rear wheels and sport or race tires on the front. I believe GT5 allows this.

Apparently, the whole early demo code contest is being carried over to the Speed Pack, which is kind of stupid, imo. I don't have the time to keep pressing F5 over T10's Facebook & Twitter; I can wait.
The pack is out Tuesday though, & here is one of the aero options for the Charger.

thanks for all the shared cars, I just tried the Veyron SS (thanks civicdrvr) my gosh what an animal, but boy does it handle like
the Agera is a beast, a blast to drive.
the things I don't like about Forza:
- some car models are just flat out wrong. the NSX for instance. and many of the Ferraris. this bugs me very much and the only thing I can really do is ignore it.
- wish I could customize the buttons on the controller - I would want to move the shifting to the triggers. I have it setup on option 12 which is a GT style setup, using both sticks for steering and gas/brake. I love this setup because it feels like driving a remote control car. and, the shifters on the triggers would easily fall into hand - but the way its setup now the only option is to use the shoulder buttons as shifters, which kinda sucks. still I am able to do it but not if I want to do really precise and calculated driving.
- already been mentioned but whats the deal with the wheels, they just don't look right
that's all for now

but seriously that Agera - there is just no experience like that on GT5 - and GT5 people are missing out on that experience - just a raw unbridled feeling of driving a loud superfast unadulterated beast car.

nice on the Aventador!
