So I have the catch can, hose, clamps, and the drain showed up. I need to get a Y barbed fitting for the two drains into one. Anyone think a plastic fitting is fine or should I still with brass ones? I also need to order a T fitting to connect the two manifold connections but for the time being I could use the factory connection.

Going to pickup a plastic one at the hardware store today to use for my drains but will switch it to a brass one I ordered later. I need to get the can installed before it goes to the shop which is hopefully going to be tomorrow evening if all the parts get delievered today.

the only reason i said brass with the drain side is because you will have oil passing through it... especially if the oil is hot, who knows what it can do to the plastic... if it was on the vacuum side and it was just air with oil vapor in it, i would say you are fine with plastic... IIRC the tee on the PVC of the motor is plastic...

Yes the one on the PVC is plastic. I am going to use the stock connection for the time being but eventually might run my own hose.

The hose I bought on Amazon came in a 25ft pack so if I decide to change it up I should have plenty left over

Also some interesting discussion in this thread about pressure of running a catch can for the manifolds and people having it cause an oil leak from the bottom main seal. BMR oil separator / catch can [Review]: - Page 2

I definitely don't want that to happen but I think it has to do with using the same catch can for both connections. I think with my dual setup it will be fine. Just an FYI. If you get a rear main seal leak you must drop the transmission to repair and at the dealership it is around a $1500 job.

That isn't a port. That is a mounting rod. The inside is threaded. It uses the hole in the strut bar as the second mounting point for the can. You can see the bolt in the last two pictures here. Ended up not being able to find an instock Y fitting I needed from either of the near by hardware stores so thanks to Amazon same day delivery I will have one tonight. Headed to the hardware store tonight to get some nice stainless allen bolts to use to mount the catch can.

I can say from all the reading I have done on CTSVowners and just the web in general that Saikou Michi seem to be one of the best there is. Now the question is do I run it as a double can in parrallel on just the snout ports or do I run one can for the snout ports and one can for the valve cover/intake ports. That seems to be where the biggest issues are. I am also wondering if I will have any issue connecting the two drain valves together without additional valves to shut off each seperate system as its own. If I make it one it will be connecting the air flow of each together and I don't know if that will cause any problems.

Well based on his response and other it seems like you shouldn't even bother with the valve cover/intake side for a catch can. Just run the cans in parrallel for the snout port only. That will definitely make my install easier that is for sure. I guess I am going to install it that way first. I can always add the other input later then.

My car is being bumped back till next week now for the install so I might not bother trying to get things installed tonight now and just do them when I am off on Friday. My big green filter showed up as well so I have that to throw on.

One day in and so far only bad news not good. They started taking the car apart and when the looked at things they didn't like what they saw on the intake runners. So this morning they are going to compression test and leak test the entire system. I am heading to the shop today to discuss what they find and have found and where to go from there. They also found a slight leak in the coolant system as well. The worst part I never have had a check engine light on this car except for it running lean twice and both times were cause my airraid filter had popped off. It will boggle my mind if stuff can go so wrong on a pretty much stock motor and you never get a check engine light or anything.

Phone call this morning resulted in the news of they have never seen the intake runners and supercharger coated in this much oil even on cars with higher mileage. So they are pretty sure there is something wrong with the car. Leaning towards seals being bad and needing a rebuild. If that is the case and the whole thing gets torn down I am going to do new valve springs while they have her opened up to aid with the added boost I will be giving her. leaving to head to the shop in about 45min. I should have another update and planned attack route this afternoon. This car has already eclipsed the total repair amount of the IS-F for the entire 5 years I had it. I read that LS motors were bullet proof. Apparently just not mine.
