Yeah, my father visited last week. I hadn't seen him in about 14 months, and it was pretty clear that his body is declining. His mind isn't as sharp as it had been in the past, though he's still there, cognitively. It was hard seeing though.
It's weird, in '76 we moved from Manhattan to Santa Monica (Ocean Ave & San Vicente) the place she moved to was 2nd av & Ocean, about 1/2 mile from where we lived.
The apartment was small & expensive, they raised the rent so he moved her to a bigger place in Beverly Hills, which is where we went in '78 after Santa Monica so she has done a circle back to our path 50 years ago.
I spent loads of time at all the music clubs in Hollywood Starwood, Gazzarri's Troubadour, Whisky, and Roxy and saw Blue Oyster Cult, before they were BOC at the Starwood (google Soft White Underbelly if you dare) lol

Dude, I don't know why but every time I've visited Cali since I was a kid...there's just something about it that calls to me.
Whiskey and Roxy in the 80's and 90's...what a cool time to have been around to see all the craziness. That is so cool.

Wednesday when I left the community I saw a drill on the gate at the exit. I figured if it's there when I come back I'll take it & call the management company.
40 minutes later, still there.
10 minutes on hold, 10 minutes to get to the vm of the manager, no call. I tried again Thursday, rinse & repeat. I got a call yesterday, the vendor that might have left it did not answer or call back.
First, I have a slew of better drills & impacts (DeWalt 20V) and second I'd have to buy a charger. Also, I'd hate to lose a tool I need to do my job so hope the guy figures out where he left it & calls the management company. Since it was readily available (after sanitizing it) I used it to put up these magnetic tool holders yesterday.
Wish they'd upgrade the infrastructure in my neighborhood.
The only 'speedy' service we get. I'm paying for a 500 [up to] service, but the best I've seen is about 215d/22u
They offered to let me trial their gigabit svc, but it's still only 20up
I said when it was May & not getting above 70 at night it was going to be a rough summer. Supposed to get to 119 which means 124 because it's always 5 more than they say.
