I'm seriously scared of flashing now. I upgraded my infrastructure in response with a 20gb USB c cable, cat 8 RJ45 & having made it easier to put the charger on via a dedicated extension cord in the engine bay.
Flash wise so far so good, first log had no fueling, sniv said put the prior on I just did that & am awaiting teh verdict.
More oddities, ethanol was over 30%, luckily I noticed before getting the log, reset got it to 8% which is close to the 9.4 it is so I went with it. WHen I gt home it was 0%, when I stopped the log, 18.
Firestone said it was the 18 month old compressor, 1800 later they gave up giving it back with no HVAC at all (panel dead) I diagnosed the AC AMP (ecu) & got that back. Searching said it was the 2013 pressure switch which is more of a logic circuit so of course not the 129 unit, the 220 unit, they grudgingly replaced it (they had refunded the 1800) it is somewhat better (cooler) but still the compressor & condenser fan shut off under 1200.
Seems some system is commanding it off at 1200, Firestone insists the r134 is at the correct level for a rear AC Limited Sequoia.
I'm damned.
Not like I need AC though.....
This is holding the throttle at 1200, let up, it climbs.
Ordered a new OEM ECU from Toyota. 89661-0CN33 is my ECU, 89661-0CN30-89661-0CN37 is the string of valid ECUs for my truck so I got the latest version. The dealer created the label today unfortunately it wasn't picked up yet.
ECU didn't solve the AC issue (didn't really expect it to) 2 weeks ago when it wasn't fixed, I made an appointment for today at Aamco, (fastest they could do) they say it's the condenser. 1100, they say everything else is good & are certain this is it (they also said it had no leaks and was .6lbs low on R134, supposed to have 1.6lbs) Thanks Firestone
Scary thing is this is the only actual auto electrical shop I could find, there is no mechanical issue & it seems possibly to be related to the horriffic first motor swap main harness mess so I'm stuck letting them do what they do.
Weather has been ok, it's 12 degrees warmer than "normal" but under 100 for the last week, 68 at 7:28am, supposed to max at 93.
Friday & Monday, I could not get the boss on the phone.
Today I finally got the boss to take my call, shop thinks there is a short in the pressure switch circuit & it may have damaged the NEW ECU. They are trying to find the short first.
They hope to be able to return it this week.
I was worried I was paying an hourly fee but I'm still in the 95.00 diagnostic phase.
He hopes to find it today & be able to give it back "soon"
I have the truck back, not fixed. He thinks I need the exact ECU so I just ordered one from a junk yard 89661-0CN33. The new one from Toyota is 89661-0CN37.
He would only let me pay his 95.00 diag fee since he didn't fix it.
The yard I found it at is closed weekends & was closing now (east Tx.) it'll ship Tuesday at the latest.
I spent the last hour testing. The AC light turns on when commanded by Tech Stream but under 1200 no compressor. I found a servo initialization and hear the flaps run but no change.
Junk yard didn't send tracking, I called "It didn't make the truck from the "sister" yard last night, it'll go tomorrow".
Um why couldn't the sister yard ship the fuckng thing to me????
During our inspection, our technicians determined that some essential components required to remanufacture your module are temporarily unavailable. To ensure optimal performance and long-term reliability, we are actively sourcing these parts from our trusted vendors to complete the rebuild.
I find it extremely difficult to believe they are doing anything needing parts to an ECU so I think they lied when they said it was in stock. I called and asked how much of a delay this is causing, they said 3 days.
Cave man solution.
Using a Dorman pedal I got when motor 1 was not behaving.
Started with 3D printed ABS 2,3,4,5 MM sheets (only wanted 2mm but this was all I could find)
AC issue remains, finally have a place to do my Valve Body.
Found this today, main compressor connector (I think) knew it wasn't the solution. Taped it up
3rd call was the charm! I have an appointment Tuesday morning to drop it off. I plan on asking them to remove the puck & thermostat & install the Lexus fittings as well as the OEM cooler hard lines I have had for 3 years (been on hoses as the hard lines were on back order & I was not waiting to do the install.
Shops here don't want to risk working on our glass transmissions apparently, the other 2 said we don't touch these outside installing reman or LKQ units (one did my 2010 Crew Max about 6 years ago with an '18 LKQ trans & insisted I buy the LKQ warranty).
