I mean an actual window/wall/rolling ac unit, not a swamp cooler.
I mean it's a different kinda heat but I don't really let any weather ever
stop me from doing something I want to do!

I suppose if I wanted to badly enough I'd spend the money on a rolling AC unit, I'd rather spend that on a Generac generator/battery system. (I know it's 10x more)
I'm ok waking up early and doing it after October. It's 70 at 3am right now.

if the heat bothered me that much I would for sure get that though, if my garage allowed me to park inside to work I would get one now even.
You guys get a lot of rolling blackouts and power outages there?

Couple times a year but it's brutal when it happens and with the battery, we can run of it on peak and "save money" like when my wife buys a purse that's 50% off. er ya we saved that 50%.
lol
I got out there at 4am, it's 69 now and I was still hot.
One of the fucking injector seals fell out of the old intake. I bought new ones so that was not the issue, I didn't know if it fell in the head, finally found it in the sealed frisking bottom of the engine compartment..
Dude, I just had a hell of a time chasing down a misfire on my S4...
learned pretty quickly how to deal with direct injection and reseals and double
and triple checking my work...lol...
glad you found it, would have been a butt pucker when you turned it on later.
It's done. I also bypassed the stupid throttle body "coolant" hoses. Of course, the back one leaked. It was a major PITA to find but it's done & feels great! Going to do a log & send to my tuner to see if any tweaks are in order.
Went back out with MY mask, put several disposable masks in both other cars (my car has another "my mask") got the Continental belt, installed it, cleaned the Injen air filter & drove 15 miles on the freeway & sent the log to the tuner.
Decided to use the OEM end links in front, disassembled the rear interior panels & removed the two nuts from the shock mounts, it's 105 now so I'm taking a break.
In between working on the car, I also erased & reinstalled my 2015 MacBook Air. Mail has been doing a weird thing where it stops getting mail and the annoying solution was turning WIFI off & back on.
So far it's fixed. Love how easy OSX wipe & restore (via Time Machine) is.
Eibach Sport. I was under the (illusion)? 1" wouldn't need anything but a new alignment.
It has been super easy so far, (air tools rule) really the hardest part has been the stupid clips holding the ABS & pad wear sensor wires to the struts. (how the fuck is that possible)?
it's still freaking 92. If it were even 85 I could have knocked the progress so far in about an hour, I just can't stay in the garage that long.
Got up at 4, outside at 5, realized the undertray which is a slew of work to disassemble has to come off so gave up on the front sway until I get the over/front pipe & do the exhaust & got into the rears, shocks are a pita, got the sway & passenger side out, set up the driver side ready am taking a break.
Nicely done...
bro, stop fuckin around with that little ass fan...get something that will make you feel cool.
Something like this...if you can find the older model, even better. https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/...?ie=UTF8&psc=1
You're in the shade...81 degrees in the house...get a gallon igloo brand thermos and keep it filled with ice water.
You would be surprised how much more tolerable it'll all be if you are hydrated and getting blown.
I found the eibach with the pretty linear design to be kinda harsh in my S4 (no plans to track though). I ended up with h&r sport...again...then
wasn't happy with the rear not being low enough and finally settled on h&r super sport. yes I've done springs on this
platform 6 times now in a short year and a half.
Car looks good...
I love your tenacity and attention to detail.
I hope it settles, this will annoy me to no end. (and need to be remedied) The back was a serious pita, the tolerances are perfect and it was hard getting the shocks out & in.
I am certain the sticker is the work of our Grandson.
Need to slow down or I'll need a vacation from my staycation.
Honestly, my desire to do springs and shocks but my love of a perfect drop are what led me to cut dead coils off in the first place.
I have a bit of a reputation for doing so around these parts...only ex wife's accord...on the ctsv on the audi before i swapped springs.
Even with both rear off the ground and sway bar undone it was hard? I have gotten better at doing it on my S4 every single time.
The rear springs are the biggest pain in the ass I've ever encountered...finally found a method using a spring compressor upside down in
one particular spot to get it out...then I compress the new one down all the way outside the car and use a ratcheting tow strap strap tied
up and wrapped around it to hold it that way until I can get it back into the car and positioned before letting out the slack slowly. Very unconventional
but it works!
Your rear spring perches are installed upside down. The inside of the bowl should be facing the ground.
Also, quick tip to make the install much easier - drop the lca. you have to get an alignment anyway, so pulling the eccentric at the subframe is the easier bolt to remove. Disconnect the sway, and then the LCA will swivel down. That gives you a clear path to slide the strut assembly into the chassis mounts. To reinstall, attach the LCA to the strut first, then use a floor jack to raise the LCA into position on the subframe.
