The car is filthy, but I grabbed a couple of shots in the sun when I was running an errand this morning.

Might have 2014 OEM style pads. Newer BMW pads are pretty much dust free. Noticed the change on the 2018 440 vs the 2011/2014 335, all with the blue caliper performance pads. No real dust issues with the Z4 also with the blue calipers.
If the car needs to live with the current style pad try this. One pass with a paper shop towel, no cleaner applied. Armor All Outlast

Gorgeous.
And parked exactly like a BMW owner too -- in a way that you cannot go into either of the 2 garage openings; double spots.

Had a chance to stretch the Z4's legs. General traffic flow was 85/87mph. Lots of 90mph segments & some short runs @ 100mph offsetting the local traffic at both ends. Acceleration 85 to 110 to pass is very quick, Did not expect that for the most part. 210 miles. Logged early Sunday morning returning from the beach after checking out the house for storm damage.
Germans have a way with engines, sub 4 seconds to 60 & 30MPG over the road. Alles ist in Ordnung

things are going great, and they're only getting better.
You're doing alright, getting good grades...
@BEAR-AvHistory
It's funny you mention that. I was thinking the same thing of my Audi...over 400hp and 30mpg...gtfo...best of all worlds.

In town I drive in Sport for the throttle response of a lower gear than Comfort would select, over the road in Comfort, to get 8th gear & cruise control. My in town would be worse if I went downtown to city center but I pretty much never do.
Usually do a mileage check on a new car when its broken in then ignore it after that. Go by get to a 1/4 tank put gas in.

Cruising home from NC with the car on it's maiden (to me) voyage saw like 34mpg if I stayed at 55...at 75 it was about 29.
As I got closer to FL though, the ethanol content must be higher or the fuel is diluted with bath salts or something because
it's always substantially worse down here. Really, it's just the heat and pulling timing, I bet.

It's nice to be able to make your workspace larger when you need to do a repair on the inside of the car. Another advantage to a convertible.

That's impressive...isn't the temperature outside like warm enough to bake bread? How do you stay cool...?

What is this "cool" thing of which you speak? This has been the hottest summer on record in the Phoenix area, including the most days above 110 and the most days above 115. Not to mention, one of the driest. In short, it has been the worst summer ever.

How does the M5 handle the heat? Couldn't imagine ripping on my cars with it being that hot haha.

The all-time record is 122. I think we got as high as 117, so far, this year.
Well, Death Valley hit 130 last week...that's your new dietary goal, Yummy.

The car feels like it lost about 100hp driving in this 100+ weather with full AC blast...
I am just glad i am not driving a 4 cylinder cars anymore... i remember the days...
You probably dont feel any difference in the M5...

The M5 does just fine. As an occupant, it's very nice that it has ventilated seats up front! From a cautionary maintenance standpoint, because the turbos sit up in the V, this engine is known for killing the coolant lines to the turbos from heat; so, I regularly pop the hood in the garage when I come home to let as much of the heat escape as quickly as possible.
