Someday, an RS6 Avant+
^My old boss when I lived in Germany (1996) had an 850R. That thing was amazing. It looked like this:

I know the diesel demands a premium but, I would not spend 27k on a 6 year old gasoline 328 Touring

I would love an A6 Avant (can't afford the RS6)...

We had this discussion elsewhere, but IMO I would not buy an out-of-warranty German diesel.
Actually, unless it's pre-1998, you're just asking for a painful butt-reaming

The RS6 config is live now too. I find it hilarious that a $110k executive car doesn't come standard with radar cruise when my girlfriends $27k Honda does. Also, the available colors suck.

Let's be honest though, adaptive radar or colour choices probably won't deter anyone
I'm kind of torn on the RS6 Avant (as someone who'd probably never buy one). It's exciting that it exists, but it's so exclusive I'd never take advantage of its advantages (ex. DD'ing or winter driving it, loading it with a dirty bike or house equipment, etc.)
That is just a really cool, expensive, fast car. If I was gonna spend $110-130k on a car, it would be on something like a 911 Turbo. Something I can use for its intended purpose with less guilt.

Like, at least with the crew I run with, if we buy a $75K CAD car, the other car is about $75K CAD too.
So, hence the FX and S5 for us. But, again, I get that this is not possibly the "formula".

I flirted with buying a 2015 Audi A7 TDI.
Did a bunch of diesel research over the past 2 weeks (mostly VW TDI dieselgate motors but diesel in general). Final decision: do NOT buy a out of warranty diesel car unless you are ready to pay or have someone who can work on them for cheap.
Problem with diesel motors: high compression needed ( no spark plug) and uneven combustion (relative to gas) leads to unburnt particulates and of course dirtier exhaust. And, diesel fuel injectors are apparently high pressure and more finely atomized....good for combustion/emission but also easier to get clogged up (especially DI and carbon build up issues too).
Then you have the much more complex exhaust system compared to gasoline cars. For the Audi I was looking at...you had a "pre cat" of sort that had the first in line filtering/NOx reduction, then you have the Diesel Particular Filter (the Audi DPF part itself cost almost $2000....and there are tons of sensors too that are can run $150 or more), and then you have the Diesel Exhaust Fluid injection system that squirts urea fluid to further reduce exhaust emissions...and this requires a tank, refill of the DEF, and a pump and line and injector....easily close to ~$10,000+ total system cost in itself if it is totally redone at dealer prices....independent shops cheaper but still are going to run many thousands simply because the parts are insanely expensive.
A quote from a TDI forum showed dealer cost of a DPF replacement can easily run several thousand dollars a pop. Though this was Audi/VW specific...not sure how BMW do their diesels.
But you do get insane MPG though....the A7 TDI can get 40+ mpg and the Golf/Jetta TDIs people can easily get 50 and sometimes get close to 60mpg.....
Also not good for short putting around town....apparently short trips are horrible for the DPF and unburnt particulates accumulate and clog up the filter for good and it can't regenerate and so has to be replaced. Apparently the DPF can be "regenerated" by either longer drives or "active" regen where higher temp gases is run it through to burn off the particulates before it clogs up for good.

If I had $130k to drop on a car, it would be a used E63 Estate and a 987 Cayman for the weekend.

If I ever came into a situation where I can drop $130K into a car, the RS6 would for sure be in my consideration just because of its audacity...that much power in basically a grocery-getter and because, well, I can.
That being said, Porsche 911? BMW M6 Gran Coupe...? Porsche Panamera Sport Turismo...? Mercedes-Benz AMG-GT? Heck, RLX with upgraded wheels?
I'd have to do my homework and really research and etc.
