I kinda like it.
But must be a bitch to get the kid in the car seat when the back door doesn't open.

Didn't even notice the flares cover the rear doors/handles.
It's an E30 Touring, so yes, but the add on bits & color are a turn off.
Subdue the flares a bit [smaller or split for the door sill] & make the rear doors usable, put some different wheels on it & change the body color, and I'd be a fan.

So I was curiously browsing through Cars.com inventory and it looks like they're giving out 10k+ discounts on Volvo V90s. Too bad I'm not in the market for one at this stage in my life, but pretty tempting. Also not sure how good Volvo's turbo/supercharged 4cylinder is. Seems more complicated than it should be.

Lease is fine.. But if you are planning to buy and keep it for a LONG time... then IMO that is the car to avoid.

Get a 10yr manufacturer extended warranty. Its only $3000 for exclusionary coverage. Covers plenty of other things they are liable to break too, like the air suspension.

10 years on new car? or CPO?

Whats up with RDX owners?

I wasn't impressed with the V90 T6. The engine has ok pickup, but the trans felt antiquated and there was noticeable lag below 3k rpm. If you don't like cars but need space and want to be different, I guess it's a decent choice. But if you like cars that aren't appliances, you'll probably be annoyed with it.
It is gorgeous though.

Hmmm, good to know. I've found then new Volvo's to also be gorgeous, especially the wagons. Don't need a wagon anytime soon, as I'm still living that single life lol. Just wanted to post my findings. I guess there's probably a reason for the heavy discounts then.

Someday, an RS6 Avant+
Then go V60. Cheaper and a little better quality wise (I think they build those in Sweden).

Yeah, they don't sell. The lease deals are attractive though. I still want to check out the V60, just to see if that engine and trans works in a smaller car, and to see if the ride is better than the V90.

All I had to read was "buzzy engine" in the V90 and all hopes of considering it were gone.

I didn't have any problems with it when I test drove the T6 model. What does "buzzy" even mean? I can definitely say it's a lot more refined than the K24 Acura is using in the ILX and TLX. Doesn't sound as good, but much smoother.
Dismissing a car without having test driven it purely based on reviews is a disservice; if I did that with the TLX I'd never have bought it as the reviews were lackluster at best (and downright critical for the V6).

So you're saying the reviewers were wrong about the TLX?
#4699
They were definitely right about the V6, but the I4 exceeded my expectations. Methinks they ended up conflating the two because of how lousy the V6 model was. FWIW that ended up a good thing for me, because I think a lot of people wrote off the I4 due to the less-than-stellar reviews (that predominantly criticized the V6 models), and I was able to get a smoking deal on one because Acura had a hard moving them.
I mean, you know it's bad when I would rather get the slower car even if they would have sold me the V6 model at the same price.

That's exactly how I ended up with my current TLX. That 2.4/8DCT combo is smooth and enjoyable to drive plus gets excellent gas mileage. The V6 TLX was a no go from the beginning due to 9spd issues. Thought I'd miss the power coming from a 3G TL, but it's more than enough for a daily. The rest of the car however is a let down and basically cancels the pros out. I've been browsing around lately to see what I'd replace it with.

The jumbo kidneys at least flowed with the car design on the vintage models. The new ones are just too much.

You know there is a reason why they only show the rear right?
BMW M and Markus Flasch have officially confirmed the existence of the first ever M3 Touring.
12. Aug 2020
Never say never: here is an exclusive first look at a completely new model from BMW M – the BMW M3 Touring. Ahead of the world premiere of the new BMW M3 Sedan and the new M4 Coupé, BMW M is taking its range to the next dimension. The combination of M specific high performance, an increase in available interior space and the intelligent functionality of a Touring model make the BMW M3 G81 a very special vehicle.
5 POWERFUL FACTS:
M TYPICAL APPEARANCE.
A 6-cylinder M TwinPower turbo engine beneath the bonnet has been confirmed, while the widened axles, conspicuously large front air intakes and four exhaust tailpipes at the rear leave little doubt that the iconic M DNA will be clear for all to see, even with the car’s new body design. One thing is already certain: the BMW M3 Touring is set to take the combination of racing-oriented performance and everyday practicality to the extreme.
INTENSIVE TESTING STARTS NOW.
The extensive development process that the new BMW M3 Touring will go through over the next two years is proof that it is first and foremost an M3. The first drives of its intensive testing and tuning programme, which take place on the Nürburgring's Nordschleife, will start in the next few days. They are the prelude to the creation of a premium mid-range class estate car that has never before provided so much driving fun and precision, nor offered more functional utility in a thoroughbred sports car.
