My first RWD car was my LS1 Z28. It didn't have traction or stability control. It was very interesting getting used to it... I bought it right in the middle of the rainy season. Surprised I didn't wreck it.

Even though I have an AP2, the 04's didn't come with TCS - this car has scared me quite a few times with or without rain - we're experiencing one of the worst droughts in California's history, so the term rainy season isn't a common phrase heard around here - even on the way to work, I see "Conserve Water" programmed into those electric road signs indicating traffic times.

Still doesn't stop me from washing my car once a week though.

I've only had one unintentional "scare"...and it was while I was intentionally trying to go sideways and forgot to take momentum into account. Got lucky I didn't nail the median. Car turned off and all.

D's up, you're gonna do it and you know it, buddy. Come on back. Also, my first and last RWD was an 87 corolla so y'all KNOW i know how to handle real torque

I've driven both, but never pushed an AP1 to the edge in the wet or dry. I've read that the AP1 has less forgiving rear suspension geometry, thinner tires and a trickier powerband.

6k-83/8,500 and it comes and goes fast lol

I find it interesting that the whole 9k redline is basically smoke and mirrors. I mean its a nice bragging right.. but the dynos show the power dropping to poop after the low-mid 8's

Honda changed sway bar rates and spring rates every 2 years so 04/05 feels a bit different than 06/07 or 08/09 and AP2 has traction control which helps. 2000/01 has the highest spring rates and roll bars along with rear bias which make it the most unforgiving of all year's, this is my favorite though.

Lol that's a great video dude! That's how my eyes look when I get the Charger sideways too ha ha.

I must be having a throw back Thursday. I've been searching for CRX Si's, Del Sol's and now S2000's on craigslist. Maybe now that I lost 25lbs I could actually fit into an S!

Mini Cooper and S2000 are the 2 cars i would recommend anyone to own at least once in your life time.

It is hard to tell why S2000 is so good from a test drive or borrowing for a few days.

After 6 months of ownership, then go drive any Sports coupes or sedan (A4, 3 series, C class or anything out there)
You will be like "WTF is this, i want my s2000 back"

I can tell you I wholeheartedly agree, as someone that almost walked away from the test drive, I'm glad I took the chance to become an owner. I am in love with the S. I really am.

Trooper. Do it. Do it!

Kreapin, not all AP2 had traction control. Mine is an 04 made at Honda's Takanezawa plant (before the move to Suzuka...based on my VIN). I wonder if that's when they added traction control.

and the official answer about traction control per s2ki
Option from 06-07. Standard for 08 and 09. Its on the dbw cars only.

My 05 did not have traction control.

Traction control was added in 2006 and on and it was not an option. Just added.

This, all of it. As much as I love my CTS-V, when I get in the S2000, I understand immediately what "sports car" is and means.

Seating position is a highly underrated part of the experience. Seats are an obvious one, but yeah. Driving most other cars feels... off.

Worse yet is getting into a fullsize truck for the first time in months I could not get comfortable driving one, at least not initially.

I put about 11 gallons each time I fill up.. (because when im on my last light, it only takes 11 gallons)

and from full back to one light, I got 275-ish miles.

some im getting around 25mpg. but I also drive 50 miles a day round trip to work on the highway.

my spirited drives are only on weekends mostly.

if I ran the tank dry, technically I have 2 more gallons after 1 light... so id roughly get 325 out of a full tank of fuel.

About 230 to 270 most tanks. I went 350 one tank without even getting a gas light. I got 28 mpg that trip, mostly 55 mph backroads that were flat and boring.

I get around 260 give or take so I guess that's the norm. Of course driving habits do play an important factor but no matter how I try to drive like a grandma the car keeps screaming "rev me rev me"

I get around 250 at best ... - 23 - 24 mpg usually.

+1 Costco - driving a full sized truck is terrifying after daily driving a sports car, makes me realize how much I love solid & precise steering feel.

I get about 250 miles to the tank, roughly 23 mpg on average. I don't baby the car when I'm driving it, though, and I love me some VTEC, mmmm-mmm!. I'm sure that I can crack 300 miles a tank on a long highway trip, though.

So, I'm having some (what I think is weird) shit going on recently.

Since I bought the S, I feel like the TL is pissed at me. The battery died on me yet again (I thought I had it figured out when I disconnected my puddle and footwell lights---turned out to be HFL), so I got it all charged up and drove it to work. I was coming onto the Beltway and noticed a Mazda3 slowing down in the center lane as I was merging. Dude looks over his shoulder and tells me, "Nice car!". I thanked him and we went our separate ways.

Yesterday, I drove to Trenton NJ for car parts and the guy I was buying from told me how much he liked the TL. Then, on my way home I stopped in the Service area for dinner and another guy pulls up and starts taking pictures! He goes in to get his food and on his way back out told me what a beautiful car I have.

Now, I'm not complaining. But I find it difficult to understand how I can get more compliments on my TL in the last week than I ever usually get, right at the same time I feel she was pissed at me for not paying any attention to her!!

Ever since the last dead battery, I make sure I wash BOTH cars to keep them nice and clean and happy.

I know its all my imagination, but....

End of weirdness.

I scored red carpet from an 09 that is in fair to good condition. It will be replacing the red colored jute that is currently in the car!! 15 years can really do a number on carpet. It was $300 plus the guy threw in an AP1 lip that needs reconditioning and those clear plastic wind deflectors for the headrests (these actually work better than I thought they would). Does anyone know if OEM AP1 lips have any Honda branding on them? If so, where is it located? I did a cursory look but didn't see anything. I plan to drop off the lip when I get the fender repaired and see what they will charge to paint it for me.

OH! I also installed my $88 Taiwan spoiler and it looks killer! Thanks for turning me onto it, J!

the brackets alone should be tell tale of OEM..

none of the replicas have the same type of brackets as OEM lips if I remember correctly.

I would assume it would have the brand logo/name of some sort in there though.

^ Dream garage right there, truly jealous. 2 of my favorite Honda 6MTs sitting right next to each other.

Installed my lip spoiler last weekend and fitment looks good - I love walking up to the car ... rear looks

No real updates as of right now, car is running perfect
