I love driving the S. The TL feels too big when I drive that now.

If it will wear an H badge, it won't look like that at all. At least not in NA.

Agreed. $40K is likely lowball.

I don't think it'll go for more than $30-$35k at most. They'd be dumb to price a Honda roadster at $40k when a Miata can be had for almost half that.

Miata isn't the only competition they are going after. BMW, Fiat, Audi are all lumped in there, too.

Sure but I bet the Fiat comes in close to the Miata in price. The TT is way more and they'd need the Acura version of this to warrant that price tag.

S2000s were NEVER cheap. It was $35k in MY 2000......

Its selling point was engineering.

Even tho Miata is probably the closest thing to a S2000 but it does not mean they are close.
To me Miata is about 60% of what s2000 is and it costs about 60% of a s2000 too.

I would consider the new s2000 at 40k to be cheap IF Honda only improves on what made s2000 special in the first place, not fuck it up completely.

on principle alone, I'd go buy that $45K heavily modified one...I could AT least sell the parts on it for $15K and end up at 30 and not 40 for a bone stock one.

Is that before or after you have to cut the rear end to pieces to get that wide body off? Pretty sure it's not just a bolt on kit.

At that point, you'd be better off just buying a used, unmolested 08 for 24-25k.

Yes, but we already know Honda/Acura can't compete with BMW or Audi.

Yep, that's kinda what I've been digging into. Right under 500 is a sweet spot where there's a bunch of guys there without blown motors/diffs/axles/etc and they're happy. I figure I can push off modifying it more if I'm there and then I can say I've got double the stock horsepower.

I took S2000 over Z4 twice... and i probably would take NSX over the i8 too. Cant justify spending $150k for a 4 banger... no 3 bangers.

other than those... yah

So, I found some stock suspension on Craigslist and reverting back. If anybody wants some good condition AP2 OEM shocks w/ Espelir springs I'd let them go cheap for a AZ Member

Why? 1.5" of additional ground clearance will go a long way with my driveway situation.

I think you got it all wrong.

You fix your driveway, not your car.

I shipped full teins (back when I got ripped off from some az member) across country for like $50. It'd be worth it, Tyler...all in one unit.

Plus, Tyler to Tyler discount.

I fly LAX to RDU Sunday...

But Delta doesn't allow shipping of shock absorbers specifically

Here's more information on specific car parts:
Shock absorbers that are sealed with compressed gas will not be allowed in checked baggage. Even if a shock absorber is not sealed with compressed gas, if it contains a residue or vapors of oil or gasoline, it is considered a hazardous material and will be removed from checked baggage.

I tried

Well since buying a new car will not solve your problem, then we can step up 1 level. Buy a new house

Yeah, I think you underestimate how much you'll dislike being raised up. Especially with aftermarket wheels.

LOL...don't.
We all know it. I think...or have our own respective term for it. I just know that once you go low, you can't raise back up and still love the car. It's mathematically impossibru.
