I don't know why Luigi doesn't just part it out. He'll never get that much for that car, unless he just so happens to find the perfect buyer. Even then it will be tough to get even 35k for it.

$45,000?

+1

I'd pay him $35,000 ... and only if he took all the stickers off.

yes, but the quest for moar power will never end...so you're almost better off feeling like whatever power you gots is enough power.

dude, 45K and he's looking to trade for a stock S2000 plus cash. So even he's either like, lemme start over with another, or wtf did I do to this poor thing.

I won't knock it just because it's not my style, but that's a good example of throwing a TON of money at every quality part and going way past a good stopping point. At least in my opinion.

If i had a brand new RC350 F sport , you think i would do the even trade with him?

As much as i love S2000, that guy is out of his mind.

For ppl who can afford to give me $45k in cash, wont. For people who will, they don't have $45k in cash.

I don't know why anyone who would buy a RC350 would even consider trading it for a S2000, totally different cars. That guy is out of his mind for his asking price. If anything, it's worth less than a stock S2k.

Yep, I had the same thought. There's literally nothing on that car that makes it special enough to ask $45k for it.

He did a paint job over the entire car that is a custom color. Can't go back on it now. With that body kit might as well include all the other bits and pieces but i doubt he gets over 30k for it.

Honestly? You get bored/used to it. The powerband/curve is close enough to a stock S2000 that there's no big VTAK KICKED IN YO! moment. It's just a 350whp S2000.

Going from stock to 350whp was a huge difference. Being at 350 for ~3 or 4 years now? It's just "normal" again.

That and I want to hit at least 450whp just to say I have 450whp. :P

Meh...the journey is what makes it fun. At the end of the day you can part it all out and hopefully get 50% of your money back. The building part makes it fun enough imo.

As far as the bolded part, I think Luigi just wants to promote Limitless Society (his company) and just ran out of things to keep his s2000 fresh/exciting. It's basically as far as it can go. It's been a SEMA car 3x already...

I think it was a "good idea" for him, but to expect to get any of your money back at that point is a bit far reaching.

I wouldn't say "out of his mind" as much as I'd say he's just playing the game. You ask 45k...maybe get 25k. Ask 25k and expect the lowballers to come calling nonstop... Not like you can part out the widebody either... Last part bolded for truth.

Yep. Staying statically at one point eventually gets boring cause it's "normal." Also, 450-475 seems to be the limit where you can safely keep the stock drivetrain. It's a good goal.

I'm sorry, but if anyone thinks that car looks remotely good, you need to put down the crack pipe and admit yourself into rehab. What a hideous monstrosity and waste of a great car.

This shit was cool in 2000. Remember those days? Big body kits, big wheels, CARBON FIBRE, lots of noise and still slow as fuck. Granted, those are some expensive parts, but this just tells me that some dummy opened up the Mugen/Js catalogue and said "I'll take it all!!"

"I've got 30k worth of body/paint mods and 2k worth of exhaust mods. I'm hella fast now!!"

The Mugen CF hardtop isn't even included in the 45k price. What a fucking joke.

If any of you ever build a piece of shit like this, I will fly down to wherever you are and slap the shit out of you.

Different strokes different folks. No need to bash the guy as we all have personal preferences. Would I have spent money on that? More than likely not but I can appreciate the work.

Go back to stock for 6 months and then put the kit back on.

Sure, if you're mom didn't hug you enough as a child and you now feel the need to drive an attention whore of a vehicle so that everyone within a 200 foot radius stares at you. Even Lambo owners would think their cars look tame in comparison.

I guess body kits are cool again I'm more outraged he has the audacity to ask 45k for the thing. Even if he only expects to get 35k for it, that's still outrageous. What's the old saying? Mods don't increase value, and if they do, only minimally at best.

What's even worse is that he mentions the CF hardtop but then follows up with saying it's not even included in the 45k price

It's probably already sold and at asking price.

Beautiful car but couldn't they wait until the rain stopped to take some pics? Or do them inside?

While you're wholly entitled to your opinion, and I do not begrudge you of expressing it here... I do think it's a tad harsh when it's in an attempt to promote his business + it's a show car (i.e., it's supposed to be eye catching). At the very least he did everything 100% authentic parts.

I agree with you on the hard top bit. Why even mention it if it's not included? If it were me, I'd probably say something along the lines of "HT available if desired, please email to discuss."

I don't think I'd ever be able to chop my car up like that though. Maybe only if I was building some kind of time attack monster track car, and had corporate sponsorship...

Don't mind him, he's highly opinionated. I don't think all of that shines through in his CL ad so if you just look at it at face value, it's hard to swallow.. ya know?

I learned from J. We have conversations about this all the time.
