mine are actually in great condition...I might have to do the sponge/foam thing though at some point. In the mean time, I appreciate the extra fat boy thigh space the collapsed bolsters provide.

Nudez on the way

Thanks for the tip Dave, it's something I'll have to look into and in addition to that .. I definitely need to re-pad my seats. My mom's AP2 (same year, half the mileage) has very comfortable seats in comparison

Headlight coolant is not meant for cooling headlight itself, it's meant for cooling the HID ballast. Those things run hot if you've ever noticed. By replacing your headlight coolant, you extend the life of your ballasts

Hazing is due to lacking headlight LENS fluid, commonly confused with headlight coolant.

Is the headlight coolant reservoir right next to the VTEC refrigerant reservoir behind the flux capacitor in the trunk?

Not a flux capacitor, that's the dry sump reservoir for the exhaust lubrication system.

Hmm, I must be in the S2000 thread if we're talking about the VTEC refrigerant reservoir

both!

I drove the S this morning, nice and cool (81 degrees ) and she just purred right into work. Gawd I love this car...I'm really spoiled to have the best of both worlds...my favorite sedan and roadster. Paid for...all I need...every once in a while I get the itch and am tempted by new technology and more power but having the world's lowest car payment makes me happier than a little extra hp and less mpg will.

It's pouring rain here and has been all week. Sucks because I wanted to drive the S. Maybe tomorrow.

No doubt...the good thing is...whenever I drive one or the other, I kinda miss the other one a little. SO there's a constant desire and never get bored!

Have you guys done any realtime monitoring of your cars while it's running?

With the recent heatwave rolling through, I was curious to see how hot my car was running. Coolant hasn't been changed for about 35,000 miles.

With my AC off, I plugged in my ODB2 adapter and launched the Android app Torque. My coolant temperatures stay between 195f-204f during stop & go traffic (ambient temperature outside was about 92f yesterday)

When it was cooler this morning with less traffic, coolant stayed at around 190 the whole way into work.

Still trying to figure out oil temperature / AFR.

Turns out, no oil temperature / pressure data goes through ODB .

For AFR, you need a wideband installed .

I'm an IT guy, I like my data damn it!

Thinking about it, a normal coolant temp would be a vague indicator of how your oil temperatures are doing right? Based on what I've read on S2ki, they line up right where they should be.

I'd be curious to see how my oil pressure is reading.

Perhaps I'm a little paranoid, but my SE-R had low oil pressure issues and the light would only come on once in a blue moon.

I'm surprised the S2000 even has a clock, let alone oil temp measurements. What are you going to want next? Trans and diff temps?

Does the S2000 even have an oil cooler or is it passive cooling? I'm pretty sure the 06+ cars have oil temp readouts through the OBD system.

I have never heard of oil starvation except on some particular tracks with long sweeping banks that starve the engine of oil for a prolonged period.

On my car, the coolant usually stays at 195 forever even at the track. Oil temp fluctuates between 200-260 depending on the type of driving I'm doing.

Definitely have something to monitor these at least through Torque app!

Maybe oil temp & pressure means something to people who like to know what's going inside of their engine? I get your sarcasm, but trans & differential fluid temps don't mean squat to me.

As others have said, there's nothing bad about monitoring critical component's temperatures, especially for those who actually DD & track their car.

Yeah, the oil temp/afr is always good to monitor when you like pushing the car frequently.
