Look farther up ahead, I see smatterings of vehicles from the house of Akio...
Seems like a pretty cool meet overall, though. Your car's looking great, Imageless.

last minute testing and measurements before tires come in.
its gonna have a wee bit of camber in the front, but not much...
the wheels sit pretty even with the fenders when i put weight on them. might just need to roll under the fenders... and with my tire size, i should be in good shape!
cant wait!

Looks hawt! Can't wait to see the tires on and rolling. Make sure to do a photoshoot!
Talked with my mom again yesterday about the flat. Turns out it actually wasn't a flat, but her friends said the front tires looked like they were low on air. In fact, I know the fronts were at 40 psi but the tires still looked low, just because there's so much weight on the front of the car.
If she pumped enough air to get rid of the rounding, I'm kind of scared she'll get a blowout. She doesn't drive it often, and rarely on the highway, but still... should I be concerned?

Tell her to get the tire pressure read. If its at the correct spot, dont mess with it.
My moms 235/55s ALWAYS look flat when they are at the correct pressures whereas my 235/35s look the same down to 20psi. Its the sidewall + the weight of the car.

My 2000 Coupe is still going. A little under 184,000 miles, just had the rusting brake and fuel lines replaced, along with rotors, pads and shoes. I live in a harsh environment for cars.
I saw an ad for a 2007 Coupe V6/MT with 50K miles, but the condition of the carpet makes me think that the previous owner was a serious slob or the car has been in some deep water.

Its tough to find that perfect used car. Im a big believer in "if you have any doubts, walk away."
Im sure that the right car will pop up eventually.

How is everyone's Accords running?
I'm doing an oil change, alignement, wash / wax and full interior detail on Sunday .. much needed . I've been working 50 hours a week / 6 - 7 day work weeks lately .. hard to give my car the attention it deserves.

Since I call my CL an overpriced Accord I guess Ill chime in:
I have to replace the tranny (and its not an auto)
Other then that its running great.

Mine's still doing well, but with an 80+ mile a day commute, it may be time for semi-retirement. Or at least to have another option handy.
I took a look at the 07 EX-L V6 Accord Coupe today (mentioned above), and it's far better in person than in photos. The salesman was very honest, and told me that they needed to replace the clutch (it's at 50K miles) and quite a few other things, including the trim on the A-Piller because of burns. There are a few other signs that the owner's treatment wasn't the greatest. He also had different taste than I do and liked gold badging and pinstripes. Still, I really liked driving it, and it's tough to find a V6 with a manual.

If I had to guess, did you look at this one:
http://www.autotrader.com/fyc/vdp.js...standard=false
If I were you and were dead-set on getting a 7th gen coupe, Id look in the southern states or the west coast for one. The rust from the North East is ridiculous plus they tend to be in better shape since the weather isn't as extreme.

No pics and its a private seller, but its low mileage and reasonably priced.

That's it. I'm not dead set on any particular car, just a nice handling, reliable, manual. Hopefully one with some power and is fun to drive.
I've thought about looking further south, but it seems to take a while for rust to form on a well-maintained Honda these days. That car in Charlotte does look interesting, and I do have some relatives around there. Thanks.

My inner wheel wells disagree with the rust statement.
Sucks that finding a well-maintained enjoyable car is so hard these days. Usually the fun ones have been abused or have a suspicious history in some way.
It's great that the salesman was honest with you, Carraway. I'd rather buy a car with all its flaws known than a car that may or may not have flaws. Thanks for keeping us updated with your search!
Speaking of 6MT Accords, does anyone else get excited when they see one on the road? Seeing the 6MT wheels or the red V6 badge makes me go crazy, especially when on a sedan.
Might end up with another Accord this time next year. Hate not having a car in university, and the 2003 has to stay at home with my mom. MT 6th gens are become cheaper and cheaper...

Aman - Thanks. My rust statement is based on experience with three Accords (two mine, one my parents'). I live in a snow belt region where the roads can get salted from late October through early April. I do have some rust on my 2000 and just had to replace the brake and fuel lines, but it's not bad considering the environment.
You're right about known flaws, but I doubt that would be all of them. (I don't think the salesman was holding back; you just never know all of them).
I also like seeing about anything with a manual. When I was driving to dealerships yesterday, I saw a Saturn next to me begin rolling back at a light and thought, cool.
A 6MT Accord at University? Nice. When I was finally allowed a car after my second year, I had a couple of gems: an old Cutlass Supreme with a constant string of issues and, er, a Pinto.

^ Wish you were in the market when I was selling my 6mt a few months ago. I miss her.

^ You miss the Accord over the MS6? I'm curious about that. I also drove a base 2012 Mazda 6 yesterday (only version available with a manual). A dealer quoted me a really nice price on a remaining 2011, but I'm not sure about it.

And I dont know why Honda didn't put the red V6 badge on the 8th gen coupe. Thats something that always annoyed me.

Did a full interior clean up and wash.
I just looked underneath my car and my transmission is leaking fluid .
This may be a stupid question, but where is the transmission dipstick for the MT? I added a little fluid and my gear changes seemed smoother on the drive home .

Where is the fluid coming from? And are you sure it is tranny fluid? If it is coming from the flywheel inspection plate area its possibly oil - which would be the rear main seal. If it is coming from the rear of the tranny, its most likely the axle seals, which are easy to replace but do require popping the axles out.

Its a factory defect alright.. mine had this exact problem when i bought it... i brought it to my dealer, and even though i was 6 months out of warranty.. they fixed it for free and charged me like $18 for the part...
took them less than an hour.
make sure he lets them know it was a factory defect... and depending on purchase date of the car, he may be in or close to his warranty date.

I miss the Accord, not saying I'd rather have it than the MS6, I just miss how well balanced the car was. It was the perfect blend of practicality, reliability and fun. The MS6 is a blast, but it's got little quirks that the Accord never had. It the Speed6 fun? Hell yeah, especially at 17psi. It is practical? Yep it's a sedan and has AWD when the time comes to drive in winter weather. It is reliable? Well, so far it starts every morning and runs strong, but the occassional puff of smoke out of the tail pipe, CEL and tire eating characteristics of the non-adjustable front camber are things I never had to deal with on the Accord. If the Accord was a 6mt sedan I'd still be rocking it, but the coupe was not going to work with the baby seat.

Too bad Honda never made the first gen. TSX with the V6 from the 7th gen. Accord.

Thanks. I'm having similar thoughts, especially since I'm at more of a sedan than coupe age but still want something responsive and fun. I test drove a 2012 Mazda 6 base model--now the only 6 that has a manual--and was fairly impressed that it still felt fairly nimble despite its size. It's still nothing like the MS6, I'm sure, which was probably more like the Legacy GT I drove later. I'm not sure about Mazdas, though, especially in a place with salted roads for nearly half the year.
