Price sounds high regardless. I paid under 30K for my 2007 coupe with 6K miles, auto premium, heated seats, active steering, comf. access, backup sensors. No CPO. And that was 3 months ago.
2007 CPO BMW 335i Sedan (Montego Blue)
16,1XX miles
Automatic Transmission
Premium Package and Cold Package
Non-Navi

Exterior and interior are in excellent condition; a few rock chips on the front bumper, but otherwise the paint is great. No dings or scratches.

What would you offer? I personally offered $29.5k but they haven't got back to me. I guess if they're desperate to sell it to me they will give me my asking price.

I would have started a bit lower. Anything under 30K and you'd be doing fine. Their asking price is laughable.

Never understood why people love CPO so much. I mean you paying an extra $2-3k more for a CPO car than a non-CPO car most of the time.

You can typically can just get an aftermarket warranty for 2k or less to cover the same stuff.

Guess I lost faith in the CPO system after my buddies TSX had 15k worth of damage and when he traded it in, they still CPO'd it!

^^^^^

I was all over the CPO thing when I was looking but when I learned that the CPO just covers warranty and not maintenance, it wasn't as attractive given the "markup".

I looked into an extended BMW warranty when I purchased. Interestingly, BMW will only allow a customer to buy an extended maintenance plan and will not extend the factory warranty on pre-owned BMWs. So it would cost me $1500 for an extra two years of maintenance. Not so sure it's worth it, given that price.

My advise, keep shopping around. Do you really need to do without a sport package, and navi for a whopping 29.5K?

Here's the response I got from my local dealer:

Dear Mr. XXXXX!
I spoke to my General Manager and 2007 BMW 335 sale price $32,231.00+fees—it is very close to wholesale value, taking into consideration that our dealership doubled the warranty on this car up to 100,000 miles.

With $3,000.00 down payment, it will be $587 p/m for 60 month (City of Monterey sales tax). Please call with any questions.

I will take everyone's advice and keep looking. If this car has been sitting in the lot for 3+ months, I'm sure as hell the price will keep lowering... Patience is the key.

Guys beware of lemon laundering thats alive and well in chicago!! While I was looking for a car, joe perillo BMW, as well as Luxury Auto Xchange had Lemons sold at auction in Phoenix, selling for full price. One of them had repeated severe brake problems, which is a deadly defect! Buyer beware!!

Congratulations!

But where are the M3 wheels? If it's those wheels on your pictures, they look like HRE P40 replicas.

How do I know if I need an oil cooler on my 335? Seems like now that the temperatures are up, my temp gauge is getting past 250 degrees and my driving is less than spirited.

Thoughts?

Either the battery is totally shot to the point that its not holding a charge or its possible there is a parasitic draw. Take it to the dealer to have them check it out.

Pop the hood and look at the oil filter housing. If it looks like this, you have the cooler (oil filter housing is aluminum piece in the middle of the picture).

If the oil filter housing looks like the one in this picture, you don't have a cooler.

What does the retrofit look like? Is the oil cooler in front of the radiator, or off to the side of the vehicle? The dealer surposedly retrofitted mine, but now I suspect its bullsh1t

The oil cooler can be seen from inside one of the front fenders, I can't remember which side. I think the passenger side.

Guys here is complete pictures of an install. I will go to the dealership, and request that they do this for me under my remaining warranty. I asked about this problem before I purchased the vehicle, and they said that it was already done, to the vehicle!

The start. Engine without an oil cooler.

Oil cooler in box.

Out of box.

Hoses, clips, clamps and such come separately in another box.

Cooler's supposed to be into this hole under the wheel well.

Oil cooler connects to the engine through here, the oil filter housing. Cars without the oil cooler originally installed will need to replace the oil filter housing to one with an oil cooler hose adapter to allow the oil to flow to and from the engine.

Which looks like this.

Combined with this, the thermostat housing.

And mounted on your car to look like this.

Oil Cooler Mounted in position. Hoses haven't been connected yet.

Still a work in progress. The hoses still need to be connected. They run from the oil filter housing to the engine oil cooler below.

New oil filter with the thermostat housing and hoses attached.

Hose connected to oil cooler below hidden away from view.

Hoses attached to the oil cooler down below. Two hoses, one for the flow-in and one for the flow-out of oil.

Oil cooler in position under the wheel well.

about 1 quart worth of extra oil was needed to fill up the lost oil from the original oil filter as well as to fill the new oil filter, thermostat housing, hoses and the new oil cooler with oil.
