I test drove my friend's BRZ and DEFINITELY felt like I was sitting on the floor.. Very fun car though!!

^ Well at least they don't need to re-type the list for when they issue the "International Least Reliable Engines" list in a few weeks.

According to our esteemed and well-respected members in the RLX board, BMW owners much prefer the RLX with stock tires over their 2014 550xis..

I'm in a bit of a tire predicament as my summer tires are getting down on tread and I could either hold off one more summer (traction is going down too) or just bite the bullet and get new ones. The other factor is my winter tires are also getting somewhat low and will have to be replaced after the next winter. So two sets of tire purchases within a year time frame.

Anyone know a good place to purchase, besides TireRack and Discount Tire? I'm just looking at prices right now to do some homework.

I'm going to bump up to 245/40/R18. And I'm looking at Michelin PSS.

TireRack looks to be $773.76 after mail-in rebate, plus you can get a Special Offer: Buy a set of four and get $70 via MasterCard Reward Card.

Discount Tire is much more, at Total "Out the Door" Price $884.28, but that includes Installation & Lifetime Spin Balancing.

So probably figure +$50 to the TireRack price for installation at a shop of my choosing (I'll probably go to DT anyway, that's where I went before to have my stock wheels put on the winter tires and summer wheels on the OEM summer tires).

Ask discount tire to match the tire rack price. The DT by my house beat the TR price by ~$10 a tire just because I asked. Don't forget about shipping costs with TR.

Why do you want the PSS tires over something more cost effective? Unless you really hit it hard, they won't offer much of a benefit of something else. I run Potenzas on the S2k and they work great for my purposes.

When it comes to winter tires, either Blizzaks or Nokians. Xice3 is good too but is more expensive.

Does your area rain/snow at all? Why not go for more aggressive tires? MPSS gets greasy after some hard runs.

Try Hankook V12s? Those are nice for the money.

He lives in Chicago so yes, it does rain and snow. Sometimes on the same day. Sometimes within the same hour.

Not all of us can have fantastic weather and some of the best driving roads in the country within reach all the time.

Honestly low $700 for PSS is not bad considering i paid $600 (installed) for my V12 225/255 and that was a deal already.
